OPI Solitaire and Black Shatter

I recently picked up one of the new OPI Bond Girl sand polishes - Solitaire, the white one.  I really like this whole set but in order to be thrifty I picked the one that I thought was the most unique and that I'd likely use the most.  So I came home with Solitaire.  I'm sure I have said it before but the OPI textures are really my favorite of all the textured polishes.  This trend seems to have made a little place for itself so I'm sure we will see many more brands and colors coming out over the next few months.

I started this mani with 2 coats of Solitaire.  Application was easy.  When wet Solitaire spread like a normal polish.  The texture becomes apparent as it dries.  Dry time wasn't too bad either.  I wanted my mani to match a shirt I was wearing out (grey, white, black skulls) so I decided to try OPI Black Shatter over Solitaire.  I used 1 very light handed coat of Black Shatter and I think it came out pretty well!  What do you think of shatter over texture?  Last years trend mixed with this years trend, ha!  Oh - and sorry for the lack of pictures in this post.  I find the OPI bottles a hard shape to hold.

Red Dog Designs Double Dragon

I received this beautiful OOAK (one of a kind) Red Dog Designs polish as a gift from my dear friend Gina.  Isn't this polish gorgeous?  I love the color, almost a neon berry-purple color.  It has bright blue and hot pink hexs and hot pink circle glitters!  AND scattered holo?!  Love!  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

This polish isn't available but you can buy other awesome Red Dog Designs polishes on Etsy and Big Cartel.  Follow Red Dog Designs on Facebook for info on upcoming collections!

Dior Nymphea

Le Sigh.  Dior, Dior, Dior.  You have such lovely colors and formulas and Nymphea is no exception to the rule.  Nymphea was released with the Spring 2013 Dior Snow Collection.  It's a gorgeous light blue creme (I see hidden shimmer) with a slight tinge of aqua.  It looks like tropical waters on my nails and now I need a vacation on a remote and lush island with an adult beverage and an umbrella straw.  Hey, a girl can dream can't she?  I used 3 layers of Nymphea for full coverage.  The formula was nice to work with.  I had no problems with application.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

What are your thoughts on this refreshing blue?  It is something you would wear plain or would you dress it up with shimmer or glitter?

Lynnderella Connect the Dots Over Dots!

You ask and you shall receive!  When I had my last giveaway I asked my followers what they wanted to see more of on my blog and nail art was the number one request (followed by tutorials).  I am a newbie to art, I've tried a few free hand drawings and stripes and here is my first planned and decently executed attempt at polka dots.  I thought it would be fun to top this with Lynnderella Connect the Dots, the original black and white glitter topper.  I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and 1 coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black.  I then did polka dots in the opposite color on each nail.  After letting the polka dots dry for a good amount of time (clearly not long enough since I still see smears) I used 1 coat of CtD on top.  With the exception of the extra large hexs which lifted a tad, the glitters laid flat and came out of the bottle easily with no digging needed.  I finished this off with 1 layer of topcoat.

So what do you think of my polka dot mani?  You can purchase Lynnderella polish at Lynnderella.com.

Fever Lacquer Violent Sweet and Pretty Little Liars

It wasn't long ago that I showed you Fever Lacquer Midnight In Your Shortest Skirt.  If you thought that was a stunner wait until you see the beautiful polishes I'll be showing you today!  Ah-mazing!!  Before I delve in here are the details for Fever Lacquer:  follow Wishful Bath and Beauty on Facebook (which is the parent brand for Fever Lacquer now so the maker Casandra can start putting out more awesome eyeshadows and body products).  You can purchase existing products at the Wishful Bath and Body store!  She has some exciting things coming up so stay tuned!

This is Violent Sweet.  It's amazing!  it's a bright and shimmery in your face purple-fuchsia with blue-purple shimmer.  It had an amazing formula that was smooth and easy to apply.  There were no problems with pooling or dragging.  Just amazing polish!  I used 3 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  This is currently out of stock bit I highly recommend you keep an eye for the restock....you want this polish!

And here we have Pretty Little Liars.  It's a fabulous sapphire blue glitter bomb with a red-purple undertone in the base.  I'm sure with 3 coats you could get this opaque on it's own but I chose to layer it over a base color.  I used 2 coats of Orly Blue Collar then 2 coats of Pretty Little Liars.  The formula was just like the other Fever Lacquers I have tried, wonderful.  Easy to apply, with no problems to report.  I absolutely loved this micro glitter polish.  It sparkled and flashed something fierce!  1 layer of topcoat and I had completely smooth ready to go nails!  Just awesome!

Happy Birthday to Meeeeee!

I'm a lucky girl with so many friends that have spoiled me rotten today (and the past few days leading up to today)! Thank you to everyone for the most amazing, funny and beautiful gifts. I wish I could wear all the polish today but I'm not a super hero with a zillion fingers so I had to pick one. And this is it! How could I not wear a polish made specially for me?! I had a BBQ party yesterday and didn't have a chance to take proper pictures but here are a few I snapped from my phone.

Jen's Secret Garden by Red Dog Designs! 3 coats with 1 layer of topcoat. I tried a flower stamp on my ring finger with Rainbow Honey Lucky Bot (yes I still need a lot of practice with stamping). And now I'm off for a day in Santa Cruz! TTFN!!
