Lumina Lacquer Farplane

Good morning!  I'm lazing about today, enjoyed a late breakfast in a quiet house.  My boys just came back from a night with my parents and it's a bit louder now, but that could also be the dinosaurs on TV.  I'm watching Jurassic Park 2, my least favorite of the trio but still a good movie.  Anywhoodle....I wanted to share the (no longer a) "Mystery Polish" Farplane from Lumina Lacquer with you.  I picked this up a couple weeks ago and I believe (don't quote me on this) that it will be available again sometime next week.  So let's delve into the pictures and check out the beauty that is Farplane

Lumina Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

I was inspired @cjskellz post on Instagram featuring Farplane (you can see it HERE).  So with that gorgeous pastel skittle idea in mind, I decided to do a pastel gradient skittle.  I used 2 coats of Farplane on top of each nail and it is really such a fun and unique polish.  Farplane is packed full matte pastel glitters (pink, aqua, periwinkle, yellow and gray) as well as matte black and white glitters.  There are loads of fun shapes in here too; hearts, moon, stars, circles, flowers, triangles along with a good helping of pastel microglitters.  Formula and application of Farplane were exactly what I've come to expect with Luminas - huge glitter payoff and easy application.  The glitters spread well a thick layer of topcoat smooths things over.  The other colors I used for the gradient are; Orly Au Champagne, Zoya Julie, Zoya Gie Gie, Zoya Piaf, Essie Smooth Sailing and Julie G Sharks Cove.

Sweet Heart Polish Disneyland or Bust, Club 33 & Bow-tique Pink

Hullo again!  Good evening to you!  I'm bundled up inside again because it turned out to be a rainy day, just like the forecast claimed.  I spent my morning at the baseball fields watching my little and middle play their games, but my oldest was rained out.  He was so bummed.  Thank goodness there was still a snack because it helped him get over it quickly.  Now I'm home and warm and dry and playing on my blog!  I'm glad to be doing it because I have a new to me brand that is really awesome!  I noticed Sweet Heart Polish recently on Instagram for the Superfine Collection, a set of microglitters named after some fellows that I don't know, but they are so pretty I am totally lemming them!  And hullo what's this Death Is Only The Beginning Collection?  You definitely want to mosey on over and check out the scene in Cassandra's shop!  Tonight I have a few lovely polishes from the Disneyland or Bust collection...perfect because if you know me you know I am a totally Disneyland fanatic (I truly love it and want to live there).  So let's jump in and look at the polish

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Sweet Heart Polish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

Up first I have Disneyland or Bust.  What a fun name for a fun polish!  Disneyland or Bust is a blend of "neon glitter with black mouse heads and rainbow shimmer in a clear suspension base."  I wanted to try something different with this polish so I used the mouse heads to adorn the top of each nail (like a stud, but it's a mouse head!).  The glitters in Disneyland or Bust, including the mouse heads, came out very easily and in plenitude.  They spread easily and laid flat on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Disneyland or Bust over 2 coats of Zoya Arizona.

Next I have Bow-tique Pink.  This adorable polish is "a mix of white glitter and white bows in a berry coloured jelly base."  Bow-tique Pink also had a really pretty silvery shimmer that added some depth to the jelly base.  I love the combination of color and the bow glitters are just so cute.  Formula and application of Bow-tique Pink were both great.  Because it's a jelly it takes a few more coats than normal to build up to a deep color, but the jelly sandwich look you get with a glittered jelly is just awesome.  I used 4 coats of Bow-tique Pink and 1 layer of topcoat.

If you are fan of Disneyland you will know about the exclusive Club 33, that has a waiting list so long you can wait a lifetime to get accepted as a member.  It's a high end, five star restaurant hidden inside the park (seriously I think you need to know the secret knock to get in aside from having your membership card).  It's also the only place in the park where you can get an adult beverage.  Hopefully one day I will get to dine there and see what the hub-bub is all about.  But until that day I will be happy to wear Club 33 on my nails and eat pizza and churros and giant pickles in a bag (classy).  Club 33 is "a mix of gold stars, green matte and holographic clovers and black mouse heads with gold glitter and gold shimmer."  It's a gorgeous blend of glitters, colors and shapes.  The shimmer really makes it feel shi-shi while the shaped glitter keep it fun and casual.  The formula and application of Club 33 were both great.  The glitter shapes came out easily and laid flat on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Club 33 over Kiko 355 and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lumina Lacquer Spring Space Odyssey (partial collection review)

Good evening! I just got home from baseball practice where I froze my behind off.  Now I am defrosting, in my Golden Girls pajamas, on the couch.  Oh, I possibly have a mini can of Sofia Blanc de Blanc in hand also.  Mmmm bubbly, sweet white wine.  Life is good.  You know why else it's good?  Because this post is chalk full of amazing glitter goodness from Lumina Lacquer.  I have 4 polishes from the Spring Space Odyssey collection to share.  There are 7 total in the collection, they are $10 each and will be available again sometime early next week!

*PARTIAL PRESS SAMPLE*

Lumina Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

Champagne Supernova is a gorgeous blend of "holographic red, metallic red, holographic orange, and holographic gold in various shapes (dots, stars, hexs and moons).  Also included are micro glitters in holographic red,  orange and gold."  Fabulous!!  All colors I love together in one perfect glitter bomb!  The formula and application of Champagne Supernova were both perfect.  I had tons of glitter pay off and it spread well and laid flat on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Champagne Supernova over Spa Ritual Kindness and Layla Cosmetics Softouch 07, Queen Bordeaux.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Social Meteor is a matte, pastel glitter bomb of "light yellow, light pink and light gray in various shapes (hexs, dots, stars and moons)."  There are also micro glitters in the same colors.  Social Meteor would look so lovely over many different colors but I went with dark gray because it really showed off the delicate colors.  The formula and application of Social Meteor was perfect.  I had plenty of glitter come out with each brush dip and it spread nicely over my nails.  I used 2 coats of Social Meteor over Zoya Tao and over a gradient of Tao and Orly Au Champagne.  I have an accent nail of Zoya London.  I finishes with 1 layer of topcoat.

Moon Lily is another amazing blend of matte glitter.  Moon Lily is a mix of "white and bright aqua in various shapes (hexs, hearts, dots, flowers, stars and moons) in a clear blue shimmered base." This was my surprise favorite, it's so fun and bright!  I love the addition of the shimmer.  I found the formula and application were both fabulous.  I had great glitter pay off and it spread easily on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Moon Lily over Zoya Perrie with an accent nail of Kiko 298.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Final Fantasy is, well what can I say!  Look at it, it's amazing!  Final Fantasy is a mixture of "all circle pastel glitter, various pastel shapes (butterflies, hearts, flowers and stars) and white matte glitter (hexs, stars and moons) in a clear base.  Also includes a dash of iridescent blue glitter."  Once again the formula and application were both amazing.  I had more than enough glitter come out with each brush dip and the glitters spread well on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Final Fantasy over Sinful Colors Unicorn and an accent nail of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer sample SP 2.1.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Orly Pink Crystal

Good early evening to you all!  I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to share this post because I thought this polish was so lovely it needed some attention right away!  I went on a wild goose chase one night last week looking for these one-off Orly textures.  Apparently Orly sends colors that didn't quite make the cut to discount stores like TJMaxx and Marshall's.  In my hunt for a peach colored texture I found this gorgeous pink texture instead (I am still looking for Just Peachy though, grrrr).  So hit up your local discount stores and take a peek in the beauty section.  You never know what kind of gems you might find!

Pink Crystal is a fairly bright berry pink with a touch of a mauve undertone.  It's bright and pretty and a prefect Spring color.  I really love the pink and gold sparkles that show through the base color!  Pink Crystal is very sparkly and the texture is nice.  It's not as gritty as a Liquid Sand or Pixie, I'd say it's closer to the Essie texture.  Formula and application were both great!  I used 2 coats of Pink Crystal for full coverage and no topcoat.
