Sweet Heart Polish Believe

Good morning and happy Friday!  Any fun plans for the weekend?  I was thinking of taking the kids to the beach today.  I know time is running out to take things off our summer bucket list and really the beach isn't that far so I suppose I'll make a day of it.  Another reason to be excited is that Sweet Heart Polish is releasing new polish today (7/31)!  I recently posted Jubilee and Second Star To The Right (you can see both HERE) and now I am sharing Believe!  Believe and Jubilee are both Las Vegas exclusives that Cassandra sweetly made available to everyone.  You can buy them separately or together in a duo. These will be up in the shop at 8am and they range from $9-$10 each.  The Believe/Jubilee Duo is $20.  Are you ready to look at a gorgeous holo?!  I always know I am!

Believe is a black holo with blue and red sparks and what looks like a touch of purple shimmer.  I am so happy to see darker colors making their return to the scene.  This means Fall is getting close.  As much as I love the Summer and the heat my favorite season is Fall.  Cozy sweaters, tall boots, comfort food and dark polish colors make me happy.  Believe makes me very happy.  The formula and application were both fantabulous.  Zero issues to report.  Believe build up nicely in 2 coats, but I applied a 3rd just for the depth and extra dark coverage.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Rodan + Fields Dermatologists: Skin Care Review

Good morning dears!  I am home from vacations and now can enjoy the rest of my summer doing nothing.  Well little things here and there but all local day-trip type of things.  It's kind of nice knowing I just get to hang out and lay low.  Ok so I have plenty of polish and beauty things to share with you and first on the agenda is Rodan + Fields Dermatologists.  Have you heard of this brand?  Rodan + Fields specializes in facial care - specified to your needs.  The dermatologists behind the brand are actually the people behind Proactive.  Rodan + Fields is geared towards getting the user "real results...at home without injections or other invasive procedures."  This brand isn't available in any stores as they use a "direct selling" model which means you can buy it directly on their website or through an "independent business owner."  If you are having skin concerns; acne, sun spots, lack of firmness, wrinkles, then you might be interested in checking out these products.  I recently responded to a 'guess how many' contest and nailed the number on the nose - I was sent a few products to try out for free!  Color me impressed - I am actually getting ready to place an order now because I liked the results I received after only 2 days!  So let's jump on in and check out the products!

*items in this post were won, all opinions are my own*

Rodan + Fields: Website, Facebook, Instagram

Here's a picture of all the goodies I received from winning the giveaway.  A sample pack that included Enhancement Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, Redefine Night Renewing Serum and Redefine Lip Renewing Serum.  How adorable are the single use capsules?!

Enhancement Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, Redefine Night Renewing Serum and Redefine Lip Renewing Serum

I love a good face scrub.  Enhancement Micro-Dermabrasion Paste is an excellent scrub.  The listing describes this paste as a "high-glide, oil free formula designed to promote maximum gentle exfoliation."  It helps improve "cell turnover and improve skin tone and texture."  You can clearly see that it's not liquid at all.  It's definitely a thicker consistency, paste is the perfect term actually.  The scrub is packed full of a very fine grit that you can really feel making a difference when you work it into your face.  The directions suggest rubbing the paste in circles onto your dry face for 30 - 60 seconds.  Do this part gently or you might feel some discomfort.

Here's what the Enhancement Micro-Dermabrasion Paste looks like after it's been worked in a bit.
It has the lightest citrus scent too, I found it pleasant.

Here's a picture of my face after I rubbed the paste in a circular motion on my face for 60 seconds.

So I washed the paste off and my skin looked bright, fresh and was so soft I seriously couldn't stop touching my face.  I really have tried a zillion different scrubs and this is the one.  THE ONE!  You can use Enhancement Micro-Dermabrasion Paste 1-3 times a week in place of a face wash.  Yes, I have peach fuzz on my face.  I'm a furry girl.

That night I tried the other products I was given.  And I do apologize for not getting pictures of them on my face, I forgot in my exhaustion and was just trying to get to bed (a night time routine is new to me as I just crash with make up on and sometimes even in my daytime clothes - hey I work hard/play hard!).  This is the Redefine Night Renewing Serum.  It's a capsule that contains "a potent, propriety blend of peptides and retinol to visibly improve skin texture and firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles."  Each capsule is for 1 use.  You get 60 in a jar and you can use the product nightly.  The serum had a nice viscosity, it smoothed over my face easily and the little bit went a long way.  At first I felt like I had a strange, slick but slightly tacky layer of goo on my face but it absorbed fairly quickly and that feeling passed once dry.  I do feel that my face looked more rested when I got up in the morning after using the Redefine Night Renewing Serum.  And you know what, I'm all for facial care products that make me look prettier while I sleep.  Minimal effort required!

And finally I have the Redefine Lip Renewing Serum.  I have always been a huge lip product person so you know I was excited to try this!  The lip serum is a "peptide and antioxidant rich capsule that helps lips retain natural moisturizing factors, smooths lip texture and reduced the appearance of lip wrinkles."  Again you get 60 single use capsules, so a 2 month supply of product.  You can use this nightly.   The viscosity was a bit thicker than the Night Serum as you don't need to rub it in, just slather it on your lips.  I rubbed it into my lips and the surrounding lip area.  My lips were smooth, not overly slick and not sticky at all.  I still had some product on my lips when I woke up in the morning.  After cleaning my face my lips felt smooth, supple and full.

Pahlish & Elevation Polish Collaboration: The Venetian Duo

Good afternoon (or evening to those of you on the West & East coasts).  It's only 4pm here.  I'm definitely enjoying this laid back island lifestyle.  But my love for polish is too strong and I just had to swatch - but this collaboration duo is a real stunna so I'm glad I brought it along!  Phalish and Elevation Polish have done a few collaboration duos before (Shannon and Lulu are very tight IRL friends so it's only natural that they'd want to do these fantastic duos) and we are all the more lucky for it because both brands are really amazing.  The August collaboration is The Venetian Duo, and  both polishes are gorgeous.  I have had the pleasure of going to Venice and this duo captures both the classy and historical qualities of the architecture and overall feel of that beautiful city on the water.  The Venetian Duo will be available in the Pahlish shop on 8/2 at 7pm CST and in the Elevation shop on 8/7 at 9pm CST.  The duo will be $22, not including shipping.  Alright, I know you're not here for my banter so let's look at pictures (apologies for no macros - I don't have my lens with me)!

Here's a pic of both bottles together; Elevation Polish The Merchant's Son and Pahlish The Wayfarer.  Even just looking at the bottles you can tell how perfectly they compliment each other!

Elevation Polish & Pahlish Venetian Duo, August 2015

Elevation Polish came up with The Merchant's Son, a light turquoise creme base polish with a very subtle teal shimmer.  It reminds me of the pretty, brightly painted houses along the canals in Venice.  This polish is also a thermal!  The shift is very slight, it basically turns to a darker turquoise shade when cold.  But since I am in Hawaii there is no cold.  I even attempted to capture it with bowls of water but it wasn't working so well - you can see a very little color change at my nail tips in most of the pictures though.  You can check out the thermal change over on Ehmkay Nails post HERE!  The Merchant's Son was a bit sheer with the first coat but it built up to perfect coverage in 3 coats.  And the color - AH-MAY-ZING!  I truly adore the color and the shimmer.  Lulu really does subtle so well!  I have on 1 layer of topcoat to finish.

And now the Pahlish contribution to the duo.  I fell hard for The Wayfarer.  You'll see why shortly.  The Wayfarer is a beautiful blend of silver chrome flakies, possibly some ultra chrome flakies and  some iridescent shimmer and glitter.  Simple (thought not really) and stunning!  The Wayfarer is very pretty with a very old world vibe.  It's kind of burnished gold and silver and all things renaissance.  Anyways, the formula was top notch!  I had perfect coverage with 1 coat.  Of course this is layered over The Merchant's Son.  I finished up with 1 layer of topcoat.   Perfect Summer duo, period.

Colors by Llarowe Las Vegas 2015; Charity Polish

Good evening!  I know most of you are in bed right now because it's pretty late, but I am on Hawaii time so I am 3-6 hours behind the rest of the USA.  I really wanted to share this gorgeous charity polish with you now because tickets to win it go on sale tomorrow!  Let me fill you in on all the details.  Las Vegas 2015 will be live from July 23rd at 1pm MDT to July 26th at 5pm MDT.  The polish is NOT available for sale.  You are purchasing a $5 raffle ticket for a chance to win the polish.  There are 50 bottles available and it will never be made again.  All tickets purchased will be entered into a list and Random.org will select 50 winners.  You CAN purchase more than one raffle ticket but it's suggested that you purchase them separately as it's the order numbers that winners will be chosen from.  There are no shipping charges for the raffle ticket and you can add a ticket to any Llarowe order.  All proceeds will be donated in equal portions to: RSDSA (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy research), The Shady Tree (domestic violence shelter in Las Vegas) and the Kathleen Foster Trust (trust account set up by the daughters of a member of the polish community that passed away suddenly).  Winners will be chosen and notified on Monday 7/27.   Now that you've heard all the info about how the raffle works let's look at the polish!  Oh and good luck to all of you out there purchasing raffle tickets!

Las Vegas 2015 is a "turquoise green jelly base with intense red to green shimmer with a touch of holo."  This polish is really lovely.  The color is perfect for summer!  This particular teal-green reminds me of tropical waters, poolside cabanas, serene lagoons and...umbrella drinks (ok ok everything reminds me of umbrella drinks).  Las Vegas 2015 is also the perfect subtle/not so subtle blend of shimmer and holo.  Great for day or night time!  The coppery-red shimmer is really gorgeous and more noticeable in real life.  This is a fairly sheer jelly but it has a really great formula.  It applied easily and evenly.  There was very slight staining to the skin around my nails upon removal but a little scrubbing cleaned it up easily enough.  I used 4 coats of Las Vegas 2015 and finished with a layer of topcoat to gloss everything up.

As I mentioned I had 3 of the 5 piece collection to show you.  Up first is this amazing hot pink called Folies Bergere.  You can really see the gorgeous holo and the silver flakies!  You know I love me some Cupcakes and these were totally on point!  Formula and application were both can-can leg-kicking fantastic.  Very opaque and full coverage.  Man I love how easy Sara's polishes are to use - they practically apply themselves!  I used 2 coats of Folies Bergere and finished with a layer of topcoat.

The next one I have is Bluebell Girls.  Let me first apologize because I could not for the life of me get this color right.  Even a little color editing still couldn't nail it down.  The IRL (in real life) shade is a lighter neon aqua shade - it's showing a darker blue in my pictures.  But despite my failure at catching the shade, I think you can still tell how gorgeous this polish is!  Another linear holo with silver flakies.  Formula and application were purrrrrrrfect (that's exactly what my notes say).  I used 2 coats of Bluebell Girls for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

I love pink and aqua as much as the next girl, BUT this is the one that had me all twitterpated.  My heart really does belong to the darker shades - they just make me feel super sexy and Lido de Paris is SEXAY!  It's a steely grey - so dark it's darn near black.  It's full of those fabulous silver flakies.  I really don't know what else to say about this one.  If I were to suggest 1 for you to buy this is is.  Lido de Paris is all that and a bag of chips AND a milkshake.  I used 2 coats of Lido de Paris for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.
