Alter Ego; Proud To Be Me Collection, IEC August 2019

Did any of you watch the new 90210?  I was a huge fan back when I was a kid, hell, I still watch the reruns when I'm home hanging out on the couch.  I enjoyed the show, all the jabs at themselves.  Can't wait to see how the show develops.  Did you know they are filming it in Canada?  Do you know what else is happening in Canada...The Indie Expo Canada! This is the awesome indie event hosted by Pam from Girly Bits.  If you have the opportunity to attend I highly suggest you do!  It's so fun to peruse the tables in person, to meet the makers and to get some great deals.  The IEC is on 8/18 in Toronto.  Looks like you can still get tickets HERE.

Today I have some pretty shades from Alter Ego that will launch at the IEC.  These 4 polishes make up the Proud To Be Me collection.  In a world full of negativity it's nice to have little things that help you remember the positive.  Cynthia's collection is full of positive vibes and acceptance. The Proud To Be Me collection will be available online sometime after the IEC and they will be $10.  Of course you will be able to save 20% with my code My Nail Polish Obsession.

I think I am going to be uber biased with this collection.  I utterly love mustard and orange polishes.  I know these aren't popular colors but I find it very refreshing to see some collections that aren't full of blue and purple.  Plus if these don't get you ready for Fall then I just don't know what will!

This is Happy I'm Not Like The Others.  It's a dijon colored base full of tiny green glitters.  Beautiful and unique.  Formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 3 thin coats and topcoat to finish.

Being Myself is a dark marigold with a touch of brown undertone.  It's full of teeny red flakes and a soft touch of blue-green shimmer.  Another original beauty.  Formula and application were both lovely.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

And now Uncommonly Me.  This one is a burnt orange shade with tiny gold glitters.  I am seeing a perfect Halloween nail art base here people!  Or even just a great Autumn nail look!  Plus is was nice and opaque.  Formula and application were great.  I used 2 coats and topcoat.

And last but not least is Marching To My Own Beat.  This one is a vibrant, shimmery peachy-orange with blue shards.  I really enjoy the color, but the shimmery finish does show the brush strokes a bit much for my liking.  Of course you could always sponge on a coat to diminish them.  It's totally another color that will be great for Autumn and Halloween nail art.  I can imagine purple stripes and witch art!  I used 3 coats for full coverage.  Finished up with topcoat.
