December 2019 Polish Pickup: Winter Is Coming

Afternoon!  Are you ready for tomorrow? I just found out that my kids practices have been canceled (due to rain and lots of families traveling) so I'm thinking of hitting up the gym and then starting up on the dishes I'm making.  I'm making a cheesy brussel sprout bake, stuffing, burrata appetizer plate and cranberry jello shots.  What are you making?

Well, to not waste any more time on food things, let's talk about today's post.  I have the December Pick Ups to share.  The theme is Winter is Coming (yes it is!  Rained most the day so far and brrrrr).  The Pick Ups will be open 12/2 - 12/6 so as not to interfere with Black Friday shopping.  I have a few amazing polishes to share and can't wait to gush about them, let's jump in!

Let's start with Stella Chroma Cold As Ice.  Inspired by the hit by Foreigner, Cold As Ice is an antique olive/gold that shifts to darker and lighter shades of gold and green.  There are also holo flakes and red/gold/yellow UCC flakes.  Great formula and application.  3 coats and topcoat used.

Stella Chroma also has her famous emulsified sugar scrub.  This month is I Drink And I Know Things.  Inspired by Tyrion Lannister and all the wine he drinks. It's got a warm, wine scent that is delicious!  Makes me want to pour myself a glass.  I love how soft and supple my hands feel after using this scrub.  Just scrub on in a circular motion, rinse and pat dry. The oils and butters will absorb in nicely leaning you with softly scented hands that feel super soft.

Winter Never Quite Leaves by Dreamland Lacquer is a beautiful thermal! This beauty was inspired by a photo Noelie's friend took in the Arctic.  Sometimes it looks dark grey but you'll mostly see dark brown when cold and changes to an icy aqua when warm.  It's also full of aurora shimmer for some extra pretty.  Fabulous formula and application.  3 coats and topcoat used.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer came up with W is for Winnie.  Inspired by Edward Gorey's Gashleycrumb Tinies.  It's a cold grey-blue base loaded with holo micro flakies and aurora shimmer that shifts from orange, red, gold and green.  Great formula, awesome application.  3 coats and topcoat used.

Get the Snow off the Road by Alter Ego was inspired by poorly plowed roads that have eye blinding left over snow.  I'm totally loving this color!  It's a charcoal grey base full of loose linear holo.  Formula and application were both great, no issues to report.  3 coats and no topcoat.

Alter Ego: Get the Snow off the Road, $10, no cap

And last but not least is KBShimmer Un-brrr-lievable, a beautiful and vibrant thermal.  It was inspired by Ice Castles.  In my mind I can pictures the icy blue and purple shades with glints of sparkle and color shifts - kind of just like this polish!  When your hands are warm you'll see a pretty, bold blue.  When they cool off you'll see a lovely cool-toned rich purple.  The iridescent flakes show off shades of pink, purple, aqua, green and gold.  Great formula and application.  3 thin coats and topcoat used.

KSBhimmer also created a deletable sugar scrub in Cocoa & Cookies scent.  Mmmm, this smells so tasty I literally want to crunch on it.  But I will refrain as I know it's not edible.  It was inspired by Christmas cookies (of course) and hot chocolate. It has a pretty little sprinkling of gold shimmer on top, tho I do wish the shimmer was through the entire jar.  Give your hands a good scrub, rinse it off and let the butters and oils soak in for uber soft hands.
