Bear Pawlish The Goblin King

Good morning!  Rushing around as usual, GAWD when did my life become so busy!  I swear I had more time for things when I actually had an office job.  Sigh.  Well before I run out to get dinner items for Julian's birthday dinner and cake and I have to get nail polish remover (GASP I'm a failure of a polish girl, I am OUT of remover!!) I thought I'd share this pretty little ditty I wore at my middle little's 6th birthday party over the weekend.  This is a gorgeous Labyrinth inspired polish from Bear Pawlish that I haven't seen restocked in a while so I don't know if Tennessee is still making it.  My fingers are crossed she is because you all need it in your life, especially if you are a David Bowie or Labyrinth fan.  So let's take a look mmmkay?

I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.

The Goblin King is a totally sexy polish!  It's an amazing blue leaning teal linear holographic with sparse tiny hex holographic glitters!  It's gorgeous.  The Goblin King is also a sneaky little shifter!  In certain lighting you can see purple and green shades peek out.  The application was fantastic, but I did notice after a few hours of wear (keep in mind I was cooking and washing dishes and decorating - all excessively) I did have a few nails chip.  So I can't speak as to whether that was the normal wear or due to the fact that I was very handsy at the party.  I used 2 coats of The Goblin King and 1 layer of topcoat.

I wore this beautiful necklace on the party as well and I love it so much I had to take a picture of it with my mani.   This is the Chloe + Isabel Beau Monde Collar.  If you are a bauble lover like I am you can purchase it at my boutique HERE.

Summer of Untrieds Day 22: Teal

Le sigh...another late night post from me.  So sorry.  With the kids home and swim lessons and camp and everything else going on I am one crazy busy mama.  But I'm giving it my best college try to keep up with my regular posts and the summer challenge.  Tonight brings day 22 - teal!  I love teal, such a pretty and hard to place color.  Sometimes it leans bluer, others more green.  No matter what helmer drawer you put your teals in it's a color that's high on my love list.  Don't forget you can join the untried challenge by posting your picture on Facebook or Instagram with #summerofuntrieds, #julyuntriedchallenge and #wishesofablueeyedgirl.

This is Bear Pawlish Dance Magic.  Dance Magic is a teal linear holo with some gold shimmer.  The color is absolutely amazing and the holo effect is pretty strong.  Of course I love Dance Magic is named for a scene in Labyrinth (more on that later).  Dance Magic had a great formula and smooth application.  It covered completely in 2 coats with no issues.  I didn't use topcoat.

I can't help but tap my toes and reminisce about David Bowie dancing around all the goblin muppets singing Dance Magic.  If you haven't seen Labyrinth you need to NOW.  And just because I want to share, here is the link to the Dance Magic scene in Labyrinth.  One of the best movies ever.  By the way, David Bowie is my boyfriend.

Lumina Lacquer Maleficent & Bear Pawlish Maleficent

Good morning lovelies!  I'm up, had my coffee, thinking about a quick run and ready to watch soccer as much as humanly possible today.  I'm not necessarily cheering for anyone in particular (USA of course) but it's fun to watch the games and let yourself get all excited over bad calls and goals.  If you aren't a fan grab a beverage, a bag of chips and settle in for at least a half....you'll like it, I promise!  If nothing else you can laugh at the over the top dramatics that soccer players are known for.  But until that all starts how about a mani post?  Both of these polishes came out around the same time and I loved that they had the same name.  Of course I chose to wear them together!  Let's take a look!

Bear Pawlish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

Let's start with Lumina Lacquer Maleficent.  This limited edition beauty is a "dark purple holo micro glitter polish in a clear base."  Maleficent is LOADED with gorgeous sparkle.  It can be worn alone in a few coats or over as 1 coat over a base color.  I chose to go it alone and it built up great!  I used 4 coats of Maleficent for full coverage, I had zero nail showing under the glitters.  Plenty of glitter came out and it spread perfectly on my nails.  I finished with 1 thick layer of topcoat.

*slightly blurred to show more sparkle*

And then there was Bear Pawlish Maleficent.  I swear these two polishes of the same name were meant for each other!  This Maleficent is a bit of a tricky gal....sometimes she seems more blue, other times definitely purple.  So let's just call her blurple for safe measures.  But color aside, what you really want to know is that the linear holo on this polish is nuts!  I love how prominent the blue and fuchsia colors are in the flame.  Formula and application were both stellar!  I used 2 coats of Maleficent and 1 layer of topcoat.

*Of course I did a fun switch up on this mani!  I had to!*

Bear Pawlish; You Ain't Limon, Holo Back Girl & Holo Friend

Good morning readers!  I have another new to me brand that I'm excited to share with you today.  Well it's not really new to me, I have been in the fan group and have lusted after quite a few of the beauties from Bear Pawlish for about 2 months now and just couldn't hold out any longer!  I ended up making a nice little purchase and have 3 of the 4 to show you today (I have a special idea for the 4th so keep an eye out for that one soon)!  Let me start this post by saying that Tennessee, the gal behind Bear Pawlish is really sweet!  Great customer service, very personable, gorgeous polish, plenty of stock (= no stress buying) and high quality formula.  So I think that's enough thumbs up that you should give the brand a try!  Alright - let's look at polish!

Bear Pawlish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

This is You Ain't Limon'!  It's described as a "very happy lemon lime jelly holo."  On the nose!  This is a bright and fun color and while in the sunlight it's a neon yellow, in regular lighting it's the same color as Mountain Dew!  I always feel perked up when I wear bright colors like this and You Ain't Limon' didn't disappoint!  The fact that it's an amazing holo just added to my elation.  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used  2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Holo Back Girl is another awesome holo!  Holo Back Girl is described as a "bright and intense purple linear holo."  I'd peg it more as a magenta-pink, but whatever color you think it is it's 100% amazing. The holo flame is really lovely with a strong purple color.  Again, the formula and application were both wonderful.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  Ok, now you know you want to sing Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl, I know I do!  And this polish definitely gets me fired up!

Holo Friend is like the punky micro glitter sister to Holo Back Girl.  Holo Friend is a "purple scattered holo with larger purple circles and black diamond glitters."  Again, I see a berry-magenta instead of purple but it's still amazing!  So sparkly you really have to see it in person.  This was a very dense micro glitter and I had full coverage in 2 coats!  The circles and diamonds came out a bit sparsely but the ones that did end up on my nails looked awesome!  Formula and application were both great.  Be warned though - micro glitters are always a pain to clean up and take off, be prepared to have little glitter particles everywhere!  I added a few extra pictures of Holo Friend to show off the sparkle.
