Valentine's Skittlette

Good morning!  I have another Valentine's mani to share - yes, another skittlette.  Oh skittlette, how I love thee!  This one turned out so delicate and romantic, I definitely love it!  I used a mainstream, drugstore, international and indie polish to create this look.  Let's jump into the pictures!

Red Dog Designs: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

I first used Jade Deja Vu on my index nail - hello fantastic hot pink linear holo.  Honestly this is probably the prettiest pink holo I have!  Deja Vu had amazing formula and application.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  I then used Julie G Rock Candy on my pinky and thumb nails.  Rock Candy is a teal-ish colored texture polish that swings more blue or green depending on the lighting.  It's also got a really great silvery shimmer throughout.  I loved the feel of the texture, it was a perfect grit.  I used 2 coats of Rock Candy.  Finally for my middle and ring fingers I used 2 coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones - a perfect neutral light grey.  I topped it with Red Dog Designs Young At Heart.  Young At Heart is full of "various hues, shapes, and sizes of pink, lime holo, teal holo, white glitters, with microfine holo glitter and pink hearts."  The formula of Young At Heart was great, easy to work with and plenty of glitter came out to play.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

True Blood Skittlette

Are you a Trubie??  I am!  So I have this quick post to show you a skittlette mani I did for tonight's season premiere!  I AM SO EXCITED!  I am on Team Eric in case you wondered.  So this isn't a review, just some pictures to show you how I paired things together.  I have never done a skitlette and honestly, alot of thought goes into it to make sure you are pairing everything just right.  I'm sure that future skittlettes will be better and more intricate but for today I am happy with how this turned out.  Chit Chat Nails is pretty much the expert on the subject (and the creator from what I can tell).  Here's her tutorial for the method if you are interested in trying it!

Thumb: Sinful Colors Black on Black
Index: Jade Vermelho Surreal
Middle: Sinful Colors Black on Black, Lynnderella UnDead Red, Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire
Ring: Jade Vermelho Surreal, Lynderella Very Pretty Vampire, Lynnderella UnDead Red
Pinky: Jade Vermelho Surreal
1 layer of topcoat on all fingers

And here are my regular hand poses becuase I couldn't just take 3 pictures.  Enjoy!

Jade Uau!

I think it's pretty well know that I love holo.  I also love orange.  There isn't much to say here except that Jade Uau! is a fantastic polish!  It's a bright orange linear holo that reaches full coverage in 2 coats. I had zero application problems.  I have really come to love the Jade holos - they are truly awesome when it comes to formula and wow factor.  I've said it before and I'll say it again...I can not wait to get this color on my tanned toes this summer!  I almost put glitter on an accent nail and just couldn't bring myself to do it...the holo is that spectacular that I didn't want to diminish it.  I used 1 layer of topcoat and thankfully it doesn't effect the holo goodness.  By the way - I do not know why my ring finger decided to be so wonky for these pictures so sorry about that.

You can find Jade Uau! and other fantastic Jade polishes at Ninja Polish, Llarowe and Color4Nails.
