Valentine's Nails with Lumina Lacquer No Ordinary Love & Ninja Polish Ambrosia

Good afternoon (early evening?)!  How about a Valentine's mani?  This mani made me so happy - I wore it for 4 days with barely any wear and tear what so ever!  All the polish I used was absolutely fabulous and high quality and I loved them all to pieces!  I used a mix of indie, mainstream and drugstore brands to create this look.   Now that I think of it I used 6 polishes total in this mani!  Let's look at it shall we?

Ninja Polish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

Alright, I'll try to keep this short so you can see pictures.  I started with Ninja Polish Ambrosia on my middle finger and thumb.  Ambrosia is a gorgeous red with a pink undertone and loads of red and gold color shifting shimmer.  I used 3 coats of Ambrosia to reach maximum color richness.  I used China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around on my ring and pinky nails.  Dandy Lyin' Around is a white base with tiny silvery flakes.  I used 2 coats of Dandy Lyin' Around.  I topped these nails with Lumina Lacquer No Ordinary Love.  Wow!  I love this glitter polish!  Red, pink and red-orange colored matte glitters in hex, circle, star and heart shapes!  I used 2 coats of No Ordinary Love and the glitter pay-out was huge.  The glitter came out easily and spread evenly on my nails.  With a good thick layer of topcoat my nails were nice a smooth to the touch.  Lastly I decided to do a texture gradient on my index finger nail.  I put OPI Solitaire (white with silvery glitter sparkles) and Magazine Cover Mouse (red with fuchsia and gold glitter sparkles)  on a sponge and applied it to my nail.  I did this about 2 or 3 times to get full color coverage.  I thought the red was too pink toned so I added Julie G Sugar Rush to the top and loved how it gave a red-orange color with some serious gold sparkle factor!  I used 1 layer of topcoat on all nails except the texture nail.

Lumina Lacquer Moon Child (fraternal twin post with The Mani Cafe)

Good morning!  I have a fun "twin" post for you today.  But it's more of a fraternal twin post because The Mani Cafe and I didn't do exactly the same thing.  We really just wanted to show off a gorgeous Lumina Lacquer - Moon Child to be exact, and we wanted to do it on the same day.  This was my first Lumina Lacquer and I was obsessed (with the polish and the brand) from the minute it arrived.  You can see my post way back when to see how I wore it in the past HERE!  It's still my favorite Lumina to date!  Anywho, have you checked out The Mani Cafe yet?  The gal behind it is one of my polish besties and one of the sweetest gals around.  And hello her nail art is amazing!  She even did Totoro nails just for me because she knows how much I love that character!  Make sure you head over and check out The Mani Cafe's Moon Child mani too (link to post is HERE)!  Now lets look at what I've got on my nails!

So I started my mani with Julie G Shark's Cove.  Shark's Cove is a super pretty minty sea foam colored polish packed with mint, pink and silver shimmer.  The shimmer is really stunning.  The first coat was a little patchy and sheer but after 3 coats all was well.  I topped Shark's Cove with Lumina Lacquer Moon Child.  Moon Child is mostly pink, white and purple glitters in a clear base.  I see lots of fun shapes; stars, flowers, diamonds, and large circles.  It's also got a healthy dose of micro glitter.  The glitter came out easily and in abundance.  It spread well and laid flat on my nails.  I then did an accent nail with China Glaze QT, a perfect magenta linear holo.  I did find the formula a little thin (compared to theindie holos that I am used to) but it covered completely in 2 coats.  I used 1 layer of topcoat on all my glitter nails.

Valentine's Skittlette

Good morning!  I have another Valentine's mani to share - yes, another skittlette.  Oh skittlette, how I love thee!  This one turned out so delicate and romantic, I definitely love it!  I used a mainstream, drugstore, international and indie polish to create this look.  Let's jump into the pictures!

Red Dog Designs: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

I first used Jade Deja Vu on my index nail - hello fantastic hot pink linear holo.  Honestly this is probably the prettiest pink holo I have!  Deja Vu had amazing formula and application.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  I then used Julie G Rock Candy on my pinky and thumb nails.  Rock Candy is a teal-ish colored texture polish that swings more blue or green depending on the lighting.  It's also got a really great silvery shimmer throughout.  I loved the feel of the texture, it was a perfect grit.  I used 2 coats of Rock Candy.  Finally for my middle and ring fingers I used 2 coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones - a perfect neutral light grey.  I topped it with Red Dog Designs Young At Heart.  Young At Heart is full of "various hues, shapes, and sizes of pink, lime holo, teal holo, white glitters, with microfine holo glitter and pink hearts."  The formula of Young At Heart was great, easy to work with and plenty of glitter came out to play.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Halloween Nails!

Good morning dears!  Halloween is almost upon us and I have a little mani I threw together for the occasion!  Nothing special or intricate, no art.  Just black and orange and pretty!  If time allowed I might have 1 or 2 more Halloween manis to share, let's just hope Mr. Sun decides to come out and play so I can get nice pictures.  Anyhoodle...let's look at this mani for now and I will worry about the other when it's time for that.

I started this mani off with 2 layers of Orly Liquid Vinyl on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  I then did a reverse gradient on those fingers with Girly Bits Holo'Ween.  This is a gorgeous mix of holo orange micro glitter, orange bars and black glitters.  It's in a clear base but the micro glitters are dense so you likely won't see much of the base color.  I sponged 1-2 layers on those 3 nails, dabbing a few sparse glitters down to the tips of my nails.  For my ring and pinky I used OPI Emotions, a sparkly black sand on the top half of my nails.  Then I used Zoya Dhara on the bottom half of my nails.  To blend the colors a bit more I dabbed Julie G Tangerine Dream in the middle of them.  I used 2 coats of each of the texture polishes.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat over my thumb, index and middle fingers.

Jamberry Nails, Zoya Godiva and Julie G Sugar Rush

I have another Jamberry Nail wrap to show off today!  This one is quite fun.  I decided to try out a couple of my texture polishes that coordinated with the wrap.

I'll start by saying I think the lighter color of the wrap shows more imperfections.  So if you are new to nail wraps like I am maybe stick to darker colors as they seem to hide any application flaws?  I applied this wrap exactly as I had the last one….clean and dry nails, match up the wrap to the finger nail it would match, use a heat source to soften the wrap, place on nail, press down all over nail, trim, file excess and use heat again while pressing down some more.

To coordinate I used 2 coats of Zoya Godiva on my index and thumb.  I love this sandy nude color.  It's really flattering and gorgeous.  I also used 2 coats of Julie G Sugar Rush from the new Gumdrops collection.  Sugar Rush is kind of coral, kind of red-orange, all kinds of pretty.  Sugar Rush is on my ring and pinky fingers.  No topcoat used on any nails.

If you'd like more information about Jamberry Nails, check out my friend Ashley's shop, Facebook page and blog to learn more about the brand!
