CosmoProf North America: American International Industries Coverage (China Glaze)

Hello again friends!  Today's CosmoProf coverage is one brand.  American International Industries (AII) is a huge company that has several brands under it, one of those brands is the always popular China Glaze!  I was looking forward to heading over to this booth again this year and catching up with Tory.  She is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the brand.  If you ever had a question about China Glaze i know she'd have the answer!  This time we focused on the products that we were most interested in so we briefly touched upon Seche, Ever Glaze, Gelaze and NailTek.  I have a little info for these to share but I didn't take any pictures.  I focus on the new China Glaze collections coming out and the Gena Mani products because I loved those so much last year.  I'm sharing with you what I can, a few awesome things are embargoed so you'll just have to wait for all that.  So let's jump in and see what China Glaze has in store for us to empty our bank accounts!

Hello awesome wall of nail polish!  This thing was HUGE!  Trust me when I say these were all perfectly lined up.  Now that's some serious dedication to showing off the brand at it's best!  I'm with Michelle from Ehmkay Nails and Marnie from Nubbins 4 Nails.

Ok info first...The Glaze Family is going to "kill" some shades.  This means the are going in the vault.  There are roughly 217 core colors year round and those that aren't selling well will be chopped.  I didn't get a list of which were going to be be retired but I can look into it if it's something you are interested in finding out.

Gelaze is pushing ahead and currently has 72 shades that coordinate with the core polish collection.  Gelaze will start being available with upcoming collections too!

EverGlaze, the prep>color>active topcoat system is going strong with 48 shades.  The majority of the shade are available a Sally's.  EverGlaze will have new colors coming out in the Spring but I wasn't allowed to take pictures of the collection.  I do have a few shades of EverGlaze that I will be reviewing soon.  I just need to find a time that I can actually test them for wear time so I'll need about 7-10 days on hand to not change polish.

Let's start with my yearly favorite collection from China Glaze.  Hello Ghouls Night Out!  This is the Halloween collection inspired by New Orleans, YAS!!  There are 3 neons, 3 glitters and the return of the popular Ghoulish Glow.  I am totally loving these bright colors for Halloween!  They will be the perfect compliment to any costume and heck, I'll wear them daily in October!  I forgot to grab a picture but there are also Baby Boo's, mini bottles of the colors!  Cute name, right?  Ghouls Night Out will be available sometime in September or early October.

We've got 2 nail art kids to go with this collection.  No Bones About it is inspired by Day of the Dead.  You've got some brightly colored skull decals (sugar skulls) to go with a black striper and while polish.  Itsy Bitsy is a spider nail art kit.  You get spider decals, a black polish and red striper brush.  How fun are these?!

CosmoProf 2015: China Glaze

The Great Outdoors is a rustic "glamping" collection.  It's 12 shades total; cremes, chameleon, foil and glitter.  This set will be available this month.

Wood You Wanna? is a 6-piece set.  I like the choices in this set.  You get a nice selection from the larger collection.

CosmoProf 2015: China Glaze

On The Hunt is a camo mani kit.  You get 3 shades from The Great Outdoors collection and a black nail striper so you can create nail art.  I like how easy China Glaze is making it for everyone to do nail art - no excuses, here's what you need, here's how to do it!

We've moved right into holiday polish! This is the Cheers! collection and it's full of heavy glitters, cremes and shimmers.  There are 12 polishes in the collection.  I like them of vibrant and dark shades.  They will make for fun contrasting nails.  You could easily achieve the jelly sandwich look with a few of the glitters!  Of course since this is the holiday collection, there will be plenty of gift sets available.  Cheers! will be hitting shelves in November.

Here are some of sets you can pick up from the Cheers! collection.  Wrap It Up comes with striping tape.  Ring In The NY is a blingy kit that comes with a ring to wear.  Mix & Mingle is a glitter gradient kit.  As you can see from this picture there are also some gel polishes in here.  China Glaze will have a few Tips & Toes collections which are a duo of polish and matching gel.  There will be 4 different sets of Tips & Toes.

CosmoProf 2015: China Glaze

Star Hopping is a glitter collection.  It's available at Sally's NOW!  There are 8 blingy polishes in here that are sure to please any gal who loves a little a lot of sparkle in her life.

I'm excited about this product!  Gotta Go is a super fast drying top coat.  It also dries to a super shine with a squishy look.  This topcoat sounds amazing, I NEED to try it!  You can pick up professional size refills, mega bonus for salons and those of us that posh our nails a zillion times a day (talking about myself here).  Gotta Go should hit shelves in late November.

And now the awesome Gena Mani products.  Love love love the cuticle gel and hand scrub so much! Here's a shot of the Mani Spa family together.  While there is nothing new to the Mani Spa line there are new products to the Pedi Spa line up so let's move along.

CosmoProf 2015: Gena Spa

Pedi Spa has a new pedi system where you chose the problem you are trying to alleviate.  The 1-2-3 step system will be available this year.  There is also a detox pedi system that will be available in Spring 2016.  The detox system has charcoal in all it's steps which is what makes for a great detox.  The 4 step system includes: Soak, Scrub, Mask and Massage.  The detox program looked pretty awesome and I will be looking out for it come next Spring!

Saturday Spotlight: Texture

Good evening.  Hope Saturday has treated you well.  Didn't really do much over here, a little running, a little tv watching, a little cooking, a lot of lazing around.  I really only wanted to leave the house for froyo, so maybe I'll rally the troops to make that happen soon and that totally just happened.  But I really do need to kick it in high gear to share my Saturday Spotlight with you!  For this one I decided to feature texture polish!  This became a trend about 2 years ago, but I still thoroughly enjoy a nice texture polish.  I like how they have a great matte finish and have a slight sandpaper feel.  Of course most have sparkly glitters or shimmer so that helps in my adoration towards texture polish.  So whether it's a fad or not, I still like the finish and will continue to buy new ones that I feel are pretty and unique.  Let's jump in to the post and check out some textures!

*nothing to disclose*

First is China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla.  This came out last spring as part of the Sea Goddess collection.  This is a lovely whitish-pink full of dark pink, white and blue glitters.  The texture is a bit loose but it's still there.  The formula was easy to work with and I used 3 coats.  No topcoat.

Rimmel London came out with a set of texture polish (last year?) and the collection was called Sweetie Crush.  I think it was Soda Shop inspired.  I picked up a few because the soft pastel shades were nice and I liked the metallic finish.  This pretty yellow is called Sherbert Sweetheart.  The formula was a bit sheer but despite that I enjoyed the color, especially the golden shifty-iridescent glitters.  The one thing I would complain about was the wide brush, it was like a Dior brush but bigger and the texture polish saturated it more so it was wide and thick causing it to be a little difficult to manage.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Kiko also answered the call to texture polish (a few times) and released the Cupcake collection.  It's actually one of my favorite collections because the colors were so different.  I actually have the majority of this collection (and would love the rest!).  This one is 655, AKA Menta.  Yup, this color is definitely refreshing and minty, like a mouthful of Colgate.  It's full of blue and red glitters for added interest.  The formula and application were both great, very on par with all the other Kiko's I have tried.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Another great brand from across the pond that also threw their hat in the texture ring was Barry M.  The Royal Textured Glitter Collection (fancy pants name) came out in 2013.  Princess is from that collection and it's a soft pink full of gold shimmer.  It really screams princess to me, it brings up  memories of a satin pink princess gown with gold trim I wore one Halloween.  The formula and application were both great.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Ok ok, I was totally in love with this polish when I put it on!  It's L'Oreal I Like It Chunky and it's a coppery-orange dream!  It it going to be a perfect Fall polish.  It makes me think of caramel apples, or basically anything drenched in caramel.  Not only do I love the base color, but the gold and pink shimmers and gold glitter are just breath taking.  Also the feel is exactly what I have come to expect from a great texture polish.  Formula and application were both fabulous.  I only needed 1 coat for full coverage!  No topcoat.

And rounding out the post is the deep and vampy Chameleon Crush from IsaDora.  I wish IsaDora were easier to obtain, but I am very happy with the few that I have (all textures actually).  This is a totally gorgeous polish and the finest texture of all the ones in this post.  The colors are a deep purple with some green shift and loads of gold shimmer.  The first coat was sheer but it built up perfectly in 3 coats.  No topcoat used.
