Alanna Renee Horcrux

Hello polish friends.  I have one last Alanna Renee Magical World nail polish to show you and this one is dark and sinister!  If you missed my last couple posts you can see Patronus HERE and Golden Snitch HERE.  Alanna Renee is based in Australia and she opened up shop in January 2013.   The Magical World collection was inspired by Harry Potter and really, who doesn't love Harry Potter?!  Genius to combine the love for HP and nail polish.  This collection does a great job capturing all the polish namesakes.  For all the international buyers (non-Australian residents) Alanna Renee is available through Color4Nails.  You can contact Color4Nails on Facebook, IG (color4nails) or just send Sisi an email with your order inquiry: color4nails21@gmail.com.

Horcrux is a creepy polish.  Not itself but it's inspiration and meaning in the movies.  If you are unfamiliar Alanna explains that a Horcrux is "inspired by the fragment of soul that a dark wizard or witch hides inside a powerful object for the purpose of immortality. A Horcrux gives one the ability to resurrect oneself if the body is destroyed."  When I opened this polish I immediately thought of Harry and Dumbledore in the Horcrux Cave with the black lake - I will tell no more in fear of spoiling the movie fun for anyone who hasn't seen the movies.  Horcrux is a black base with color shifting flakes.  I see grey, green, blue, maybe purple even?  The flakes with the dark base make for a gorgeous effect.  I used 2 coats of Horcrux and the formula was great, easy to apply and no issues to report.  I finished this with 1 layer of topcoat.

Super Black Lacquers The Whale

Good morning polish friends!  I am going to start a 3 day review of Super Black Lacquers today!  I'm excited because the polish created by Natalie is really pretty amazing!  When I first browsed through her store I was immediately drawn to the holos (of course), but then I spent some time inspecting the others and she has lovely glitters and shimmers too!  SBL was started in 2012 and "are 4-Free, with no Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, or Formaldehyde resin."  I like that Natalie and her friends personally test (ie wear) the polish several times before they are offered to the polish buying public.  You can check out more about Super Black Lacquers (and buy them) at the website superblacklacquers.com.  You can also follow them on Facebook!

This is SBL The Whale.  The Whale is described as "a medium, neutral grey creme polish, with an aqua blue iridescence."  Natalie made this polish because she wanted to make a grey polish that looked good on everyone.  Well, this is a truly gorgeous polish and I do think it would look great on everyone!  It absolutely makes me imagine a whale swimming with light reflecting off it's skin.  The aqua shimmer is stunning and very vibrant on the nail Don't you hate when the shimmer doesn't translate on the nail - NOT the case with The Whale!  The Whale also seems to change from a light greay to a medium grey depending on the lighting.  The Whale had a wonderfully thick and creamy formula.  It was easy to apply and was thiclose to being a 1 coater!  I used 2 coats for good measure and 1 layer of topcoat.

Hillbilly Love Lacquer Buckshot

Sorry for having fallen off the radar for a bit.  My house was in some desperate need of TLC and I just couldn't take the mess any longer.  So now that it's clean I can expect my 3 little tornadoes to have it in disarray within mere hours.  Anywho - today I bring you Hillbilly Love Lacquer Buckshot.  I've enjoyed all the Hillbilly polishes but this was my favorite of the ones sent to me for review.

Buckshot is described as "A lovely dark vintage grey blue with fine and superfine copper glitter."  On the nose!  I found it intriguing how the base color of this polish was in fact grey but I could always see just a tinge of blue!  It is very lovely and unique.  The copper glitter really play well against the steel grey color and added a nice dimension to the polish as a whole.  Application was nice and easy and I had full coverage with 2 coats.  I used 1 layer of topcoat for a shiny finish.

I quite enjoyed Hillbilly Love Lacquer and look forward to what other polishes Alisa comes up with!  I recently saw an LE she posted on Facebook that was gorgeous!  So be sure to follow the Facebook page for product updates and specials like that!  Otherwise you can purchase Hillbilly Love Lacquer on etsy!  Happy shopping!

As always, be sure to give me a Like on Facebook too!

Sinful Colors Slate + Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes

Here's a quick post to show off a Lynnderella that I was mega drooling over.  Thanks to an awesome swap package from my good friend Hazel, The Stars in Her Eyes is now mine and I no longer have to pine.  Thanks Hazel!

I started this mani with Sinful Colors Slate.  Slate is a very pretty medium grey with a rainbow-y shimmer.  When I move my fingers I can see blue, purple, magenta and teal.  The formula was nice and I had full coverage in 2 coats.  Seriously for $2 or less, Sinful Colors really puts out some amazing polish.  I then accented 2 nails with The Stars in Her Eyes.  TSIHE is a slightly grey tinted base full of mini and regular sized stars, iridescent blue-green glitters and silvery hexs.  It's a stunning polish and the mini stars are adorable.  I think it should be mandatory that every Lynnderella created from here on out has mini stars.  That is my wish, the end.

Sinful Colors is available at drug stores such as Walgreens and Rite Aid.  You can purchase Lynnderellas on ebay.

Please be sure to follow me on Facebook.
