Sweet Heart Polish Celebration Collection

Good evening!  I HAD to share this post with you now, I just couldn't wait until tomorrow.  Ok, probably because this totally fun and gorgeous collection is launching tomorrow morning, but really more so because I love how my swatches turned out and who doesn't love celebrating Disneyland!?  Sweet Heart Polish is at it again with her fabulous Disney inspired collections and this one is AWESOME!  If you're a Disney fan you know that this July Disneyland is celebrating it's 60th year - called the Diamond Celebration.  Cassandra, who is a huge Disneyland fan, just like me, wanted to celebrate the occasion too so she came up with the Celebration Collection!  It's 5 holo glitter polishes that you can layer over anything and with each other to create some awesome looks!  You can pick up the Celebration Collection tomorrow (7/1) at 9am PST.  So I don't want to talk your ear off - let's just get into polish since it's already late!

Up first is Main Street USA.  I went with this one first because it's the first place you see when you enter the park.  I love the atmosphere here, you're immediately hit with the smells of popcorn and burros, the laughter of children and adults.  It screams Americana to me.  Main Street USA is a blend of red holo glitters and red holo mouse head glitters.  I found the formula perfect.  I had zero issues getting glitters out and they spread out on my nails nicely.  I used 2 coats of Main Street USA over Sweet Heart Polish Summer Moon (a light grey holo).  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

After you go through Main Street USA you have some decisions.  Go straight ahead and hit up the castle, or veer to the right or left.  I went to the left and took us to Adventureland (because it's family tradition to always hit up Pirates of the Caribbean first)!  Adventureland is a  blue holo glitter and blue holo mouse head glitter combo that definitely reminds me of that area of the park.  Mainly because of the Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean (rides that float on water).  Adventure screams water and sky to me so blue was the fitting color for the polish/land match up.  Again the formula was really wonderful.  The glitter was plentiful and required no work to get out of the bottle.  I applied 2 coats of Adventureland over Summer Moon and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Heading away from Adventureland and more towards the center of the park and we are now entering Frontierland.  This is all wild west, saloons, mine trains, shooting depot, ranch bbq and barn animals. Frontierland conjures up images of dirt and dust and cowboys, so the earthy (but rich) gold color is perfect for it's namesake part of the park.  Frontierland is a blend of gold holo glitters and gold holo mouse head glitters.  Much like the last 2, the formula was stellar.  Easy to work with and apply.  No fishing needed to get the larger glitters out.  I used 3 coats of Frontierland over Summer Moon and 1 layer of topcoat.

Well now we are back to the center of the park and have arrived at Fantasyland.  This is probably everyone's favorite area of the park.  All the whimsical rides that remind you of your childhood are here.  Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Alice In Wonderland, the Tea Cups, etc...  Also, this is where the Princesses' reside.  With purple being a regal color, it totally works for Fantasyland.  Fantasyland is a mix of purple holo glitters and purple holo mouse head glitters.  This one seemed to be a bit thinner than the others and I did have to do a bit of coaxing to get the bigger glitters out.  But as you can see from my pictures I fared well and was pleased with the glitter coverage.  I used 2 coats of Fantasyland over Summer Moon.  1 layer of topcoat to smooth things up.

Lopping around to the right of the park is the futuristic Tomorrowland.  This is the home of Space Mountain and Star Tours, park staples!  When I put Tomorrowland on it also had that futuristic/robot/Tron feel that I get when I'm in this section of the park.  So yep, I totally get this pairing.  Tomorrowland is a mix of silver holo glitters and silver holo mouse head glitters.  We are back to that fantastic formula that was easy to work with and applied like a glitter-dream.  I used 2 coats of Tomorrowland over Summer Moon and finished up with a layer of topcoat.

With the 4th of July right around the corner I thought it would be fun to layer a few of the Celebration Collection for a nice red, white and blue mani!  I LOVE HOW THIS TURNED OUT!  I started with Summer Moon again, then layered Main Street USA, Adventureland and Tomorrowland.  It's a mega blingy, mega patriotic mani!

I interrupt your regular scheduled program to show you AWESOME MOUSE SHAPED GLITTER POLISH!   Squeeeeeee!  I know these are bursting on the scene right now and I am just beyond excited to have these Red Dog Design creations, they are brilliant!  These polishes are from The Mouse Collection and it consists of 3 Mickey and 3 Minnie themed polishes.  Gina puts so much thought into each polish and the combinations of color, glitter, shimmer and holo.  The Mouse Collection is a perfect show of her creativity.  You can purchase The Mouse Collection this Friday (9/13/13) at 5:00 pm EST.  The full sized bottles are $10 each.  You can also follow Red Dog Designs on Facebook and Instagram (reddogdesigns).  Enough talking…let's look at the polish!

Up first I have Minnie's Tulips.  A beautiful blend of "mouse shaped silver holo glitters, mixed with various sized hex glitters in pink holo and rose copper, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base."  I used 2 coats of Minnie's Tulips over 2 coats of Barry M Dragon, a beautiful pink creme with subtle shimmer and a jelly-shine finish.  Minnie's Tulips went on very nicely, lots of glitter came out and it spread well on my nails.  I did have to assist some of the mouse glitters out because they are heavier than other glitter.  Also the mini brush just didn't want to grab them.  I suspect that the regular sized bottle/brush will fare better at catching the mouse.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

This is M-I-C-K-E-Y.  As you can see it's inspired by the famous mouse himself, but in a deconstructed form.  You have the red shorts, yellow shoes, white buttons and of course black for the ears!  M-I-C-K-E-Y is made up of "mouse shaped silver holo glitters, mixed with various sized hex glitters in red, black, white and yellow, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base."  I really love this one.  It captures Mickey spot on.  The formula and application were great!  Lots of glitter came out and laid flat on my nails.  Again I had to help the mouse glitters out of the bottle, but I attribute it to the mini bottle size and brush.  The mouse glitters floated freely in the base (I.E. were not stuck to the insides of the bottle wall). and were plentiful.  I used 3 coats of M-I-C-K-E-Y over 2 coats of OPI My Pointe Exactly, a sheer grey jelly polish.  I chose this as the base because I wanted the glitters to stand out on their own.  I think it would also look nice over blue!  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Last but not least we have Pop Art Mickey.  I love this one.  I am a born-again fan of neons and I've been buying them up like crazy all summer.  The good news is neon is still popular this Fall and it's getting paired with nudes and greys in all the fashion magazines so don't be afraid to rock neon nails right now!  Gina says Pop Art Mickey is full of "mouse shaped silver holo glitters, mixed with neon pink and neon green stars and various sized hex glitters in neon pink, neon green, neon blue and red, sprinkled with micro holo glitter in a clear base." I love the color combination here, it's fun and vibrant! I almost wore this over a nude shade then decided against it.  I layered 2 coats of Pop Art Mickey over 3 coats of one-off Red Dog yellow holo.  A good amount of glitter came out with each brush dip.  The base on this one is plentiful so be sure to wipe any excess off your brush.  I assisted mouse glitter out of this one (again - small bottle, small brush) but also had a few come out on their own here.  The glitters laid flat against my nails.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.
