Takko Lacquer Xocomil & Kitsch

Good morning!  Hope your Monday is going well.  I've got a pretty light schedule today, just want to get in a short run today (and this whole week) so I don't over exert myself before I run the half marathon on Sunday.  I also need to make sure I am drinking tons of water this week so I don't dehydrate myself and pull a muscle.  Other than that - I'm looking at a regular week.  How about you?  So let's start this week off with some lovely Takkos!  I briefly met the maker of Takko Lacquer and she's seriously adorable and really sweet - I probably scared her because I am loud and just jumped into a conversation to meet her.  While we were sitting in a group we also asked her how to pronounce Takko and it's "taco", so there you have it, mystery solved!  Well I have some of her polishes to share today - one from the Summer 2015 collection and the other is the CosmoProf 2015 color!  Both will be available at the upcoming restock on 9/3 at 8pm EDT.  Takkos are $13 USD each.  So let's check out some polish!

Up first I have Xocomil, a "periwinkle purple filled with actual silver dust."  Sheryl says that Xocomil is inspired by the Mayan legend El Xocomil.  I enjoyed hearing about this legend as much as I enjoyed wearing the polish!  Xocomil is really a purple beauty and that's a lot coming from me because I don't love purple polish.  But this blue toned purple is unique and gorgeous.  The silver dust is a special addition that I don't think I've seen in any other polishes (at least none in my stash).  The formula and application of Xocomil were both fantastic.  I loved the length and size of the brush, it was kind of short and squat and so easy to work with.  Xocomil was very creamy and opaque - I had full coverage in 2 coats.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.  As a side note - I wore Xocomil for 3 days with no chipping and the most minimal tip wear on only one nail!

I deiced to try out the CosmoProf color, Kitsch too!  First off how adorable is this mini bottle?  The minis are called Takkitos (tacquitos).  Kitsch is a "glittery party filled with multi pink glitter and holo shimmer and holo flakies in a clear base.  Once dry it smells like pink sugar cotton candy."  Ok it was totally cute and I loved the scent!  So sweet and yummy!  I found myself sniffing my nails through the day.  The scent diminished once I showered and didn't last longer than a day.  The glitter came out in abundance and covered perfectly.  I used 1 layer of Kitsch over Xocomil.  You can layer it over anything really or you can build it up in a few coats and wear it alone.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Literary Lacquers Something That Has No Name

Good morning!  I'm back with another Literary Lacquer to share with you!  This holo beauty was imagined by a lovely lady in the Literary Lacquer fan group and after voting and it was the winning polish for the newest group custom.  Sadly you know what that means, it's not available to the public.  Sorry again, I know, I am really mean.  Especially if you love orange like I do.  Anyways, there are certainly a ton of other great polishes in the shop and chances are you'll see something that tickles your fancy.  So let's jump in and enjoy some polish!

Ok ok, so this is Something That Has No Name.  I honestly can't remember the book reference but I do know that I am totally in lust with this sun-burnt orange soft linear holo.  Just look at those charcoal/black glitters and holo and pink glitters!  Trust me, you can really see the pink glitters, especially in the shade pictures.  This is going to be a perfect color for Summer and Fall days!  The formula and application were fabulous.  I used 2 coats of Something That Has No Name and 1 layer of topcoat.

Wicked Polish Arson

Good morning!  Hope all is well with you this Monday.  Hopefully you have the day off!  I wore this mani a few days back and wanted to share it because it's so fun.  Man I am beyond ready for the heat and trips to the beach and the pool and hanging in the backyard with a brew while watching the kids play!  A nice smoking bbq would finish off that dream nicely!  Mmmmm I can smell it now - my inner carnivore is screaming for bbq!  Ok I went way off track.  Back to polish!  This neon glitter topper will be perfect for bright summer days!  Wicked Polish always does a great job with her glitters - the colors and shapes are very appealing to me and I try to pick them up whenever I can.  Let's go ahead and jump in to check out Arson!

*nothing to disclose*

Wicked Polish Arson is a "glitter topper filled with neon pink, yellow, and orange hexs of multiple sizes and neon pink stars."  I love it!  It's the perfect blend of colors for me!  Since it's in a clear base it will be easy to wear over any color.  I went with a soft peach shade as the base.  The formula and application of Arson were both great.  The glitter came out easily  and spread well on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Arson and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Uber Girly mani with Lumina Lacquer All Tied Up, Color Club Miss Bliss and Zoya Trixie

Morning *singsong voice*!  I've been doing alot of winter and blue manis.  Well I needed a change.  So I slapped a super girly, pink mani on and I am loving it!  It's nice to change things up don't you think?  Well this is has a very princess feel and I actually got alot of compliments on it!  I used Lumina Lacquer, Essie, Color Club and Zoya to create this skittlette.

Lumina Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram
Color Club: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

I started with 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow, a sheer, jelly white polish.  I used it on my index and middle fingers.  I topped Essie Marshmallow with Lumina Lacquer All Tied Up.  I adore this polish!  It's so girly but a glitter polish you could wear year round.  It's full of pink and silver glitter in hexs, circles and bows!  That's right - BOWS!  Satin white, satin pink, metallic fuchsia and holo silver!  This polish had a great formula with very easy application.  Plenty of bows and large holo circles came out without any fishing and all the glitter laid flat on my nails.  I applied 2 coats of All Tied Up.  I used Color Club Miss Bliss on my ring and pinky nails.  Whoa the bright rose pink holo is amazing!  One of the strongest and brightest linear holos I've used.  Another great formula here.  I used 2 coats of Miss Bliss for complete coverage.  Finally I used Zoya Trixie, a metallic silver polish on my thumb as a fun accent to tie in all the colors used in this mani.  Trixie had a lovely formula with a beautiful finish.  I used 2 coats of Trixie.  I added a silver bow charm to accent my ring finger nail using a small dab of nail glue.  I only used topcoat on my glitter nails.

*I apologize for no macros, I thought I had transferred them and it turns out I didn't...and then I deleted them all before I realized my mistake.  Sad panda.

Red Dog Designs All Of Time And Space

Good morning readers!  I hope your weekend has been full of fun and Halloween parties.  Mine was full of soccer and birthdays.  And now before I head off to my soccer game I wanted to share this pretty little ditty that my friend Gina from Red Dog Designs sent me to try out!  Recently a group of our friends decided we weren't too happy with a mainstream polish that was released.  We talked about the possible reasons why it didn't work and what would make it better.  Gina started tinkering and came up with a couple versions of her own.  Guess what....they are both gorgeous!!  She hit it out of the park!  I am sharing the purple version today, which has now been released in the Who's 50th Anniversary collection and my friend Michelle at Ehmkay Nails is sharing the black version (you can see it HERE).  So lets take a look shall we?

This is All Of Time And Space from the Who's both Anniversary collection.  When I look at this polish I see night sky, stars, constellations!  It's like a gorgeous purple and blue galaxy on my nails.  All Of Time And Space is an inky purple jelly based polish full of pink-purple glitters with aqua shimmer.  I also see some blue hexs.  The formula and application were both AH-MAZING!  With each coat the depth grew and got better!  I used 4 coats for full coverage, but 3 would have been completely fine.  I used 1 layer of topcoat to finish.

Femme Fatale The Fallen Kingdon

Good afternoon lovelies!  I have a second post for you today!  And extra special polish created by Femme Fatale Cosmetics exclusively for Color4Nails.  I love exclusives and limited editions - the chase to acquire them is fun and sometimes challenging.  While this is only available at Color4Nails, luckily it is currently in stock!  It's the standard Femme Fatale 12 ml rectangle bottle and costs $12.50.  Aside from this Australian beauty, Color4Nails carries a vast array of international indie brands.  Make sure you are following Color4Nails on Facebook and Instagram (color4nails) for news, updates and stock details!  Plus Sisi runs promotions all the time and you don't want to miss out on those!

The Fallen Kingdom is gorgeous.  The end.  Ok kidding.  I truly love the color combination of this polish.  It's pretty and feminine, but not saccharine sweet.  I think it's perfect for the Fall!   If you are a fan of Femme Fatale polish you will want this polish.  Over on the Color4Nails website it's described as "a shimmering brown base with subtle gold color shift" with a "complimentary array of rose, fuchsia and copper" glitter.  I used 3 coats alone to reach complete coverage.  I found the formula nice to work with and application was easy.  Plenty of glitter came out and it spread easily on my nails.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.
