Red Dog Designs Aurora Coralis

Good evening!  Thought I'd pop in with a little post with a super fabulous one of a kind that Gina from Red Dog Designs made me as a birthday gift!  I am totally in love with all things coral (and holo) and this is just the perfect combination!  Something tells me I will be wearing this all summer long!  Sorry for sharing such a beauty that isn't available, but mosey on over to the Red Dog shop because I am sure there is something you will love there!  Gina excels in glitters and textures and her recent Spring collection - The Butterfly Garden is AMAZING!  You can see my post for that collection HERE.  Auroral Coralis....what can I say?  It's a soft peachy coral color that is so beautiful!  Aurora Coralis also has a very soft, loose linear holo effect.  The formula was so creamy and smooth.  Application was like butter.   I used 1 coats of Aurora Coralis and 1 layer of topcoat.

Red Dog Designs Butterfly Garden Collection

Happy Friday!  I hope it's a beautiful day for you all out there!  The weather has been amazing here, more Summer than Spring though.  It's been hot enough to pull out the slip n slide for the kids.  And to turn on the air conditioner!  Well I don't mind the heat because I love having an excuse to eat ice cream, swim and wear gorgeous glowy, shimmery and bright (happy) colors on my nails.  Which is perfect because today I have the brand new Red Dog Designs Butterfly Garden Collection to share with you!  The Butterfly Garden is a collection "inspired by flowers that attract butterflies and fun, spring flowers and gardens!"  This collection will be available tomorrow evening (5/2) at 5:00 pm EST!  And pssst, there are still a couple bottles of my 2-year custom La Vie en rose available.  You can see my pictures of that beauty HERE!

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Up first we have Aster, a "pale blue creme with blue/green iridescent glitters, holo micro glitter and a turquoise shimmer."  The bright blue iridescent glitters in Aster are stunning!  The first coat was sheer, but it built up nicely in 3 coats.  Application and formula were both lovely.  I used 1 layer of topcoat.

Red Dog Desings Limited Edition La Vie en rose for My Nail Polish Obsession

I've been slightly obsessed with all things rose lately.  I love the colors and the smell.  I'll buy anything rose: body products, perfume, makeup, jewlery, anything named after a rose...everything.  When Gina from Red Dog Designs and I worked on my 2-year blogiversary polish of course I knew I wanted holo, and I wanted a rosy color.  Well Gina nailed it!  This beautiful custom is a perfectly blend of pink and red, holo pigment and holo pink sparkles.  I named it La Vie en rose....after the Louis Armstrong song.  If you like this custom there is great news for you....La Vie en rose was created in limited supply and there are less than 30 bottles available for sale on Monday 4/21/14 at 5:00 pm EST.  I say less than 30 because as you will see, I have 1/30 to show you today!

La Vie en rose is absolutely perfect.  I love it...so much.  The formula and application of La Vie en rose were both fabulous.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

I also wanted to show you how well it paired with the Red Dog Designs custom celebrating my 1 year blogiversary last year!  Summershine is a gorgeous blend of pink, gold, iridescent and holo glitters.  It's mostly circles and butterflies....perfect to pair butterflies with roses, right?

Glitter Week: Day 5, Red Dog Designs (part 2)

I'm back with a quick second post featuring Red Dog Designs.  Earlier I showed you many polishes that were customs or LE and no longer available.  So i wanted to show you some LE's that currently are available!  These are the St. Patty's Day Collection and they are all awesome!  This trio is only available this month and you have the option to buy 1 or all 3.  If you get the trio you get a discounted price of $27.  Great deal and you'll be set with green polish for a while!

Red Dog Designs: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

The first color from the trio I have to show is Pog Mo Thoin.  I'll let you look up the translation.  Gina describes this as a "soft linear holo in a creamy sage colored base."  I loved how soft the color of Pog Mo Thoin was.  Perfect Spring green!  The formula was very creamy and the holo effect is very subtle and lovely.  I used 3 thin coats for full coverage.  No topcoat in my pictures.  *Pog Mo Thoin is $12 for a full size bottle*

*sunshine picture*

This is Shamrock Shake.  One of my favorite things about this holiday is the shamrock shake at the fast food drive thru.  Which reminds me that I should probably get one on Monday!  YUM!  Shamrock Shake is a glitter bomb blend of "hex, square and circle glitters, in finishes of holo, matte and metallic, in various hues of green and iridescent color change green-lime-gold glitters, including metallic green shamrock glitters."  Formula and application were both awesome.  There was huge glitter payoff and the mix of shapes and smaller uniform sized glitters was perfect.  I used 2 coats of Shamrock Shake over Pog Mo Thoin.  1 layer of topcoat.  *Shamrock Shake is $10 for a full size bottle*

*sunshine picture*

Blarney Stone is a fabulous texture polish!  Blarney Stone is a mix of "various sized hex glitters, in shades of holo gold, holo green hues, holo black and and green, sprinkled with micro silver, green and holo glitter in a mossy green base."  The blend of sparkle and texture is perfect and the grit of the texture is really nice.  Formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Blarney Stone, letting the first dry completely before the second and no topcoat.  *Blarney Stone is $10 for a full size bottle*

Glitter Week: Day 5, Red Dog Designs

Hullo there!  Welcome back to Glitter Week!  It's Day 5 and I have lots of blingy Red Dog Designs to show you!  I've reviewed my fair share of Red Dog's on my blog and you can probably guess but it's one of my favorite brands for glitter bombs!  If you are new to the brand just take a gander at these pictures and trust me - you will want them!  But I have to mention that the majority of the polishes in this post were customs so you won't be able to get them.  But worry not my dears, Gina has so many amazing glitters in her shop that I know you will find something that will make you feel happy!

*some of the polishes in this post were gifts*

Red Dog Designs: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

The first combination is a duo of customs that I had Gina make for me when I ran the Tinkerbell 10K in January of this year.  I really wanted to channel Tinkerbell and these came out so perfectly, I couldn't have been happier and my nails couldn't have been prettier!  I started with I Believe In Fairies, a perfect Tinkerbell green holo with a soft linear holo effect.  I Believe In Fairies was very creamy and opaque in 2 coats.  I then topped it with Eat My Pixie Dust, a glitter bomb full of green, iridescent and holo glitters in hex, circle and butterfly shapes.  I used 2 coats of Eat My Pixie Dust.  Formula and application were both great.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

And here's a picture of my mani and the medal I received for finishing the race.  I liked this picture because you can see how Eat My Pixie Dust and I Believe In Fairies looks when worn a different way!

Aloha From Hawaii <3 Elvis is a pretty and fun blend of flower shaped glitters with aqua metallic and holo hexs and holo shimmer.   I am pretty sure this is the polish that sold me on flower shaped glitters.  This is so adorable and fun and I love how it really does remind me of a pretty Hawaiian Lei.  Formula and application of Aloha From Hawaii <3 Elvis were both fabulous.  I had no problems getting the flower glitter out of the bottle and they laid flat on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Aloha From Hawaii <3 Elvis over 2 coats of Enchanted Polish Ballerina Sprinkles.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Now this gorgeous circle glitter combination was a gift, but it was so popular in one of the nail polish groups I am in Gina decided to rename it and sell it to the masses!  My bottle is named something that I'd rather not share, but you can pick you your bottle of Ball Pit in her shop any time!  Just look at how amazing it is!  I do have a slight obsession with circle glitters!  Ball Pit is nothing but holo and metallic circles in different sizes with holo shimmer in a clear base.  Formula and application were both awesome.  I had tons of glitters come out and they spread well on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Ball Pit over 2 coats of Enchanted Polish September 2013.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lucky Charms was the LE polish for St. Patrick's Day last year.  So as you guessed it, no longer available.  But there is a new trio available this month and I'll have those on my blog later today!  Lucky Charms is a super fun mix of green, gold and rainbow colored glitters.  Of course the addition of circle and square glitters just makes it better!  The formula and application were both great.  I used 3 coats of Lucky Charms over 2 coats of China Glaze GR8.

Bunny Sprinkles is another LE from 2013.  This was available for Easter/April.  Bunny Sprinkles is super adorable and draws inspiration from jelly beans in Easter grass.  I think Gina did a great job capturing that with Bunny Sprinkles.  This one is full of matte pink bars, holo and metallic glitters in a rainbow of colors.  Of course there is a good dose of holo shimmer.  I think this is a unique and fun glitter topper!  Formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Bunny Sprinkles over 2 coats of Zoya Julie.

Honey Balls is another creation I came up with one night and Gina made it happen.  There is a dessert treat here that I simply adore, Bamiyeh.  They are a Persian pastry treat and are essentially fried balls donut balls with some spices, completely drenched in honey.  There is even honey inside so you are eating the most yummy honey goodness ever.  Anyways, Gina threw together this gorgeous blend of satin yellow and metallic gold circles with a heavy dose of micro glitter and holo shimmer in a lightly yellow tinted base!  Loved the formula and application of Honey Balls.  I used 2 coats of Honey Balls over 2 coats of Bettina Marshmallow.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.  And now I am totally craving Bamiyeh.

This is definitely one of my favorites....Mermaid Princess Naomi.  Yes, this is another custom.  I had it made for Naomi's first birthday party last year.  Gina is so thoughtful with her polish creations.  She made sure to use smaller glitters so they would fit on Noami's tiny little nails, and they did!  But these are pics of my nails.  Mermaid Princess Naomi is a mix of blue, green, gold and purple glitters in a clear base with holo shimmer.  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 2 coats of Mermaid Princess Naomi over 2 coats of Enchanted Polish July 2013.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Mardi Gras is one of my favorite days to celebrate!  I love the festive mood, the drinks, the food, the decorations!  And I love last years LE (Here Comes)3 The Big Parade.  HCTBP is a perfect blend of green, gold and purple glitters in hex and circle shapes.  The are all smaller shaped glitters so they spread well on the nails and did a great job covering all the space.  Formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of HCTBP over 2 coats of Zoya Piaf.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.
