Halloween Nail Art using Sally Hansen Halloween and NYC New York Color Hallween 2014

Good morning!  I'm back with some nail art!  Yesterday I shared a couple posts, Sally Hansen Halloween and NYC New York Color Midnight Beauty, they are all such perfect colors how could I not use them all together to create some fun Halloween nails?  So that's just what I did.  Let's go ahead and jump in to see!

The first look I went for was a classic black and white themed mummy mani.  I used Sally Hansen Scaredy MatteOMGhost and NYC New York Color Rock Muse Smoky Topcoat to create this look.  I love how these all worked together.  I feel like my nails are in a black and white horror flick.  I used topcoat on all but my index nail.

The second look I created is fun, happy little pumpkin mani!  I used Sally Hansen Pumpkin QueenOMGhostScaredy Matte and Fuzzy Coat Fur-ankenstein to create this look.  I'm happy with how my pumpkin turned out, he's so cheerful!  Of course I love the Fuzzy Coat nail too, being the bar glitter fan that I am.  I used topcoat on all nails.

Sally Hansen Halloween 2014 (partial review)

Good evening (late nigh?)!  I'm back with more Halloween shades to share with you.  This time it's the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri set and a new Fuzzy Topcoat!  The Halloween Collection is full of fast drying cremes and a beautiful matte.  I have never tried the Insta-Dri formula before and I found it quite fabulous!  I also have one of the new Fuzzy Coat polishes to show you - and yes, I love bar glitter!  The Halloween Collection and Fuzzy Coat duo are currently in stores and they are $4.99/$5.99 each.

Sally Hansen: Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
*Sally Hansen is available at Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, Ulta and other drug and beauty stores

Up first is OMGhost, a stark white creme.  I found the formula nice and creamy, not chalky or streaky whatsoever.  I used 2 coats of OMGhost for full coverage and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

The Pumpkin Queen is a perfect orange creme.  The formula was lovely, nice and creamy.  Such a smooth application too!  I reached full opacity in 2 coats of Pumpkin Queen.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lastly I have Scaredy Matte.  This is a beautiful black matte with no shimmer.  It's just a perfectly flat black.  I love that it's not shiny, gives it a real edgy look.  Honestly it reminds me of black leather.  Formula and application of Scaredy Matte were both great.  Smooth formula with great coverage.  I used 2 coats of Scaredy Matte and no topcoat.

*the 4th polish in this collection is a shiny black creme - Fright Night.

Sally Hansen also released 2 new Fuzzy Coat polishes for Halloween.  I have Fur-ankenstein, a light lime green and black matte bar glitter topcoat.  I know these "hairy" glitters aren't for everyone but I personally love them.  Fur-ankenstein has a fabulous formula.  The glitters come out in abundance and spread easily across my nails.  I used 2 coats of Fur-ankenstein over Pumpkin Queen and OPI Funky Dunky on my accent nail.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

*the other Fuzzy Coat is an orange and black mix called Watchful Thinking.

Celestial Cosmetics: You're W-Earth It, Pink Posy & Celestial Night

Good morning again lovely readers!  I'm on a roll with another post!  I am featuring another Australian indie brand today and it's another beautiful brand!  Celestial Cosmetics is a handmade, 3-free brand that will be expanding to include other cosmetics in the near future.  This is another brand that would be near impossible to get if it weren't for amazing US stockist!  Celestial will be available at Color4Nails very shortly and will be $11.00 for each 12 ml bottle.  So keep an eye on the Color4Nails shop (you can sign up for email alerts), Facebook page and Instagram (color4nails) for updates on stock and brands that Sisi has available.  And just in case you want to see the entire stock of Celestial Cosmetics here is the shop link (but this brand only ships to Australia so your best bet is Color4Nails).

The first Celestial I have to share is You're So W-Earth it.  It's a very pretty light blue creme based polish with blue, green and white glitters inside.  It went on easily enough.  The first coat was a tad streaky but the second coat leveled out perfectly.  Plenty of glitter came out with each brush dip.  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  The glitter did cause it to look gritty but a good layer of topcoat and my nails were shiny and perfectly smooth to the touch.

Pink Posy is my favorite of the bunch - no surprise here since you KNOW how much I love holos.  I actually don't have a pink that looks like this so I was pretty happy to play with this one.  Pink Posy is described by the maker simply as a "bright pink holographic polish."  If you are looking for something feminine, delicate, but still noticeable then Pink Posy is for you!  I used 2 coats for full coverage, but I suspect that if you had longer nails you would need 3 because it is slightly sheer.  The formula was like butter - creamy and smooth.  1 layer of topcoat and the holo was not effected.

And finally I have Celestial Night.  This beautiful polish is a dark metallic-y plum purple with silvery shimmer and silver holo glitters.  It's very lovely in the sunshine and the silver holo really sparkles through!  The first coat went on slightly sheer so I used 2 coats for full coverage.  The formula was nice and easy to apply with no problems to report.  I finished it off with 1 layer of topcoat to help shine things up!

Darling Diva Polish Bonnie Lassie + Orly Melodious Utopia

St. Patrick's Day is coming up soon and I'm getting in the spirit with green nails, green mustaches (for my kids of course), shamrock shakes and a box of LE Lucky Charms with only green shamrock marshmallows (also for the kids - I swear)!  I'm also excited to show you my first St. Patrick's Day polish of the year!

This green glitter beauty is Darling Diva Polish Bonnie Lassie.  Bonnie Lassie is really fun and definitely makes you feel like you are celebrating the occassion!  Though it would also be a fun polish for the entire year.  BL has a plethora of glitters mixed into a clear base: green and holo hexs, white bars, white hexs, large sheer white hexs and green micro glitter.  The glitters came out easily and spread on the nail well.  No clumping and everything lay flat on my nails.  I layered Bonnie Lassie over 2 coats of Orly Melodious Utopia.  This is from the up and coming Hope and Freedom Fest collection and I will be reviewing the entire collection next week.  1 layer of topcoat for smooth and shiny nails!

You can purchase Darling Diva Polish Bonnie Lassie in the etsy store.  Be sure to follow Darling Diva Polish on Facebook for updates.

And as always, don't forget to follow me on Facebook too!

Super Bowl XLVII…Go 49ers!!

Super Bowl Sunday!  Quite the big hub-bub here in the Bay Area!  The news has been covering the 49ers and New Orleans, the hosting city, since Friday.  All I can say is that I am so jealous of all the fans in New Orleans right now.  Celebrating the Super Bowl and getting to hang out in The Big Easy, talk about a party!!  My manicured fingers are crossed that the 49ers WIN!!  Go Niners!

Used: OPI Smitten With Mittens, Alpine Snow, Glitzerland.  Striping and dotting tools.
