Jewel Pink + Mele Kalikimaka

I'm going to start my post with this….bubble gum pink holo and multicolored glitter bomb!  Read on if those are a few of your favorite things!

I started this mani combo with Kiko 402 - also known as Jewel Pink.  JP is a wonderful polish!  Like I said before, it's a bubble gum pink holo.  The formula is not like any other holo I have tried.  It was actually creamy and highly pigmented.  It also covered like a creme.  No streaking problems at all!  I had almost full coverage with one coat.  I did the second coat to ensure no VNL when I held my nails up in the sunlight.

Then I busted out my new bottle of Red Dog Designs Mele Kalikimaka.  MK is a party in a bottle!  Gina had this to say about her polish, "Hawaii is where it's always green and bright! Lovely teal ocean waters, white sandy beaches, beautiful rosy colored flowers."  Can't you just hear the waves crashing on the beach? I know I can and wish I had a pina colada in my hand!  MK is packed full of large and small matte white squares (beach).  There are also pink (flowers), teal blue (ocean) and green (palm trees, grass) hexs in varying sizes.  Lastly she put in a special touch - tiny micro glitter in coordinating colors.  The glitter came out of the bottle very easily and in plenitude.  I had no problems with stray glitter or things sticking up…everything lay flat and smooth on my nails.  I used 2 layers of topcoat to finish it off.

Darling Diva Polish Slutty Pumpkin

Hello to the fellow obsessed!  I have another gorgeous Darling Diva Polish to share with you today and this one is a doozy!

Slutty Pumpkin is described as "Metallic orange linear holographic with varying sized black hexs."  True true.  I was so amazed when I saw this one on Ashley Is Polish Addicted I had to get my grabby hands on it.  I was not disappointed!  It's a perfect color orange, the holo is gorgeous and the black hexs add special touch to make it stand out against other holos (not that I can even think of another orange holo off the top of my head).  I used 3 coats for complete coverage.  In all honesty 2 coats would have been fine, but I did a 3rd for the pictures.  I had zero, zilch, nada issues with formula or application.  I did use a layer of base coat and finished it off with a layer of topcoat.

You can purchase Darling Diva Polish at the etsy store.  And be sure to follow the Facebook page for updates on stock, new releases and promos!

Darling Diva Polish Holiday Lights

Wow!  Just wow!  I have never tried this polish brand before but let me tell you a little something about first impressions.  My socks are rocked off!!  I am loving the polish coming from the creative mind behind Darling Diva Polish!  Carrie really has a great eye for color and glitter combinations and I adore the names she comes up with!

I started this awesome mani with China Glaze Angel Wings.  It's a beautiful soft yellow scattered holo.  I have nothing like it in my collection but you might if you picked up the 2011 Ulta exclusive Ultamate Hoilday (also China Glaze).  I used 2 coats for full coverage and had no issues with application.

I then used Darling Diva Polish Holiday Lights.  I want to say HELLO CIRCLE GLITTERS and leave you with that, but I know you want to hear more.  Ok, circle glitter in abundance in all the Christmas colors you could want!  Red, green, gold!  And a nice smattering of red, green and holo micro glitter particles.  It's really a lovely combination of color and shape (did I mention it's all circle glitter?  Oh I did?).  Holiday Lights went on very easily, I didn't have to dig for glitter or use the dabbing method.  I used 2 coats and with very minimal placement (more like light guidance). I ended up with an abundance of glitter on my nails.  I finished it off with 2 layers of top coat.

You can purchase Darling Diva Polish at the etsy page.  You can also follow Darling Diva Polish on Facebook to keep up to date with stock, new arrivals and sales!

Alphubel + Melted Snowman

This post if full of all kinds of awesome.  I'm referring to the polishes of course, but I'm also talking about a really amazing bunch of ladies that I am very lucky to call my friends.  This particular mani is a swap polish and a RAOK (random act of kindness) polish.  So it's very special for me.

I'll start with the undies, Elevation Polish Alphubel.  I received this in a swap from Hazel, one of the sweetest gals I know!  Alphubel is a gorgeous light blue with a shimmer that is just a shade darker blue.  It's very light and delicate.  The first coat was slightly streaky, but it built up nicely.  I used 3 coats.

The icing on the cake is Ninja Polish Melted Snowman.  I had been waiting and waiting for this one to become available.  Then I decided to wait for Black Friday sales to see if I could snag it at a discount price.  Missed it.  Then I thought I'd get it on Cyber Monday, no such luck.  Then it became quite an obsessed after item.  I silently stalked and stalked the Ninja page to no avail.  Then the other day a package showed up on my doorstep from Ninja Polish!!!  My friends Gina from My Dirty Little Obsessions and Michelle from Ehmkay Nails had secretly snagged me a bottle!  I just about passed out from the kindness of my friends and the gorgeousness of the polish!

So here it is…the white buffalo…I mean Melted Snowman!  Clear base with shimmery holo particles, multiple sizes of matte white hexs (body), orange (nose) and brown bars (arms), and smaller sized black hexs (eyes, buttons).  I love it!  Absolutely love it!  Perfect winter glitter, perfect name!  The glitter lay flat and a good amount came out with each brush dip.  I had to do a little digging for the largest white hexs but it was no bother.  I used 2 coats and finished it off with a layer of top coat.

What do you think?  Looks like a melted snowman?  I think so!  You can purchase Elevation Polish here (the store is open right now), and Ninja Polish here.  Don't forget to follow the Elevation blog and Ninja Polish Facebook page!

Elevation Polish Toubkal

Here's a quick post showing off a stunning jelly created by Lauren of Elevation Polish.  Toubkal is part of The Morocco Collection that released in November.

Toubkal is a crimson-berry jelly polish packed full of gold flecks.  I also see some red and pink sparks in there and it blends to make a beautiful glowing effect.  I used 3 coats for full (full for a jelly) coverage.  The first coat was sheer and a tad streaky.  Don't be afraid to load alot of polish on the brush for each coat, you will use it all.  The second and third coats were great application, nice squishy formula, loads of glitter flecks.  And that color, oh man!  I am totally in love with it!  Toubkal dried with a very shiny finish, I didn't need topcoat but because it's habit I used it.

You can purchase Elevation Polish at the store - which opens tomorrow, 12/7.  You can also follow Lauren's blog I Dig Brown Nail Polish for updates about stock and colors.

Marshmallow Twinkle

I received a few Layla Soft Touch polishes from my wonderful friend Dulce at Miminhos Que En Gosto in our recent swap!  Man are these polishes gorgeous, thank you so much Dulce!  I wore Queen Burgundy back in October and it was a real stunner.  Marshmallow Twinkle absolutely lived up to my expectations and now I want the rest of the Soft Touch collection.

I had family portraits scheduled last weekend and needed a lovely, not in-your-face polish, but something that would still be noticeable.  MT was all of that and more!  I used 3 layers for full opacity.  Application was sheer with the first coat, but it built up nicely with a second and third.  The formula was a dream.  I did not use topcoat on MT because it would have lost it's gorgeous matte finish.

Now a funny story.  In the middle of taking pictures I heard crying.  It was muffled and it was obviously Naomi.  I rushed into the bedroom and I see Naomi's head sticking out from underneath my bed.  She somehow shimmied herself under the frame and couldn't get back out because she was army crawling with her diaper-butt sticking up too high.  So I had to reach under, flatten her booty down and pull her out.  Thus I ruined my gorgeous matte mani and you will have to settle with the few pictures I took prior to the "Naomi stuck under the bed" episode.
