Color Club Cherubic + Lynnderella Gingerbread Hearts

I love holo….and I love glitter.  I love holo and glitter together.  Such a heavenly combination.  This is nothing short of angelic.  I started with one of the new (well apparently there are 6 new holos for 2013 so these ones are old news now) Color Club Halo Hues, Cherubic.  Cherubic is a light peachy tan type of color.  It's gorgeous.  I think it will be the prefect base for so many glitter polishes.  I used 2 coats and it really was  gorgeous polish to use.  Not too thin or not streaky like most holos.  Good coverage.  Amazing linear holo payoff!

Then I accented 2 nails with Lynnderella Gingerbread Hearts.  I've gone back and forth on my feelings for this one and decided I think it's really very pretty.  GH is from the 2012 Season's Glitterings collection.  It's packed full of gingerbread brown square glitters and an assortment of other glitters in matte white, red, green, blue, pink, orange in different shapes.  Very cute together and it does look like a gingerbread house.  A few of the larger squares did start to curl though, I so sad.  I used topcoat on my accent nails and nothing on the holo nails.

Sinful Colors Lavender + Faceted

I have so many untried Sinful Colors polishes, it's really embarrassing.  They are so easy to pick up because they are at every drug store and are $0.99 or $1.99,  I mean how can I not buy 1 or 2 if I am there? They practically give them away!  Anyways, maybe that should be another resolution….try all my Sinfuls because they have a wonderful formula and great staple colors.

I got to try out 2 with this mani and really liked them.  I started with 2 coats of Lavender.  It came out recently with a collection in the Summer.  Strangely enough it's more of a blue than a purple but who am I to question the reasoning behind some of these polish names.  Anyways, Lavender was almost a 1-coater.  I am light handed with the coats so maybe with a bit more polish on my brush it would have indeed been a 1-coater!  Beautiful color, beautiful creme formula.

I then used 2 coats of Faceted, a tiny purple glitter with iridescent bar glitters.  Faceted came out recently with the Holiday Shimmers collection.  You may still be able to find some at Walgreens but don't hold me to that.  I was able to get a good amount of glitter with each brush dip.  I think Faceted will look lovely over many colors and want to try it over mint next!  I used a layer of topcoat and was good to go.

OPI The Impossible

I'm sure you have seen the OPI Liquid Sands by now.  They are part of the Mariah Carey Collection and are very unique and interesting.  The Impossible, which I'm showing in this post, has a texture that didn't bother me nearly as much as I expected.  It was less gritty than some glitter bombs I have worn and surprisingly easier to remove than most glitters.  I found myself mesmerized with the feel and absent mindedly touched my nails up until I removed the polish (I must have looked ridiculous to people watching me).  Now that I've shared that dirty little secret I'll get on with the review.

The Impossible is a hot pink matte glitter.  It was fairly sheer and I ended up using 3 coats for the pictures below.  I was able to get a couple stars, but I really had to dig for them.  Then the stars stuck up a little and would scratch me.  Sigh.  So I didn't love the stars.  But I did love the look and the feel of The Impossible.  The glitter itself is so pretty…matte yet sparkly.  And I felt the texture really added to the fun aspect of the polish.  So next time I use it I will just skip trying to get any stars.  I did not use topcoat.

Go 49'ers!!

Back from another lazy episode of no blogging!  I have a few posts lined up for you and hope they will be up tonight and tomorrow.  Then I will start some Shimmer Polish reviews!  Until then, I'm supporting my home team with 49'er inspired nails!  Go Niners!!  Be gentle, I am not a nail art blogger by any means!  But every now and then I give it a try.

I used:
Kiko 353 (much more of a browned red in real life, picstures show it much brighter)
OPI Glitzerland (gold undies)
OPI Espresso Your Style (brown for football)
OPI Alpine Snow (football laces)
butter London West End Wonderland (gold glitter)

Cameo + Come Rain or Come Shine

Before I even start can I say that I am over the moon in love with this nail polish!  I'm referring to Red Dog Designs Come Rain or Come Shine.  It's so beautiful.  I want to wear it over everything!  But I started with it over Illamasqua Cameo.  A very pretty pairing in my opinion!

I started with 2 coats of the new Illamasqua color Cameo, a blue-purple, kind of periwinkle color.  It went on very nice and smooth.  I had no application problems and the formula was very lovely.  I don't know why I had shyed away from this color in the past, but I am loving it right now and have been adding this color family to my stash very heavily.  So back to Cameo, loved it!  PS - Thanks Michelle at Ehmkay Nails for the awesome present!

Then I put on 2 layers of Red Dog Designs Come Rain or Come Shine.  This baby isn't available yet, but I believe it will be soon!  It's packed full of yellow hexs, holo shimmer, iridescent flakies and iridescent short bars that shift from blue to purple (or the other way around?).  A plethora of glitter came out with each brush dip and the glitter spread easily on my nails.  I am looking forward to trying this over other base colors!  I used 1 layer of topcoat for smooth glossy gorgeousness.

To purchase Come Rain or Come Shine follow Red Dog Designs on Facebook or just start shopping in the Big Cartel store.  Illamasqua is available online or in Sephora.

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk Collection

When I returned from my holiday vacation I received an email.  The email was from Rainbow Honey letting me know that I would be sent some PR samples for review.  I was so excited for a couple reasons: I love doing reviews and the polishes in this collection are gorgeous!  I was sent 2 out of the 3 that make up this collection and will be sharing XOXO and Sweet Talk with you now.

Sweet Talk is described as "A decadently sweet collection of pastel glitters in a white jelly with hidden shimmer."  Such a perfectly fitting description.  Now milky bases and white polishes are not my favorite and I wasn't expecting to like this one.  But once I had it on I could not stop staring at it!  I think because the polish is a jelly base it is so much easier to wear.  Sweet Talk was indeed very delicate and soft, and not chalky at all (which I notice alot with white and pastel polishes).  Application was great, lots of glitter came out with each brush dip.  I used 2 coats of Sweet Talk and 1 layer of topcoat.

And now XOXO.  This was the polish I was super excited to try and I was so glad it was in my package!  XOXO is described as " A ravishing blend of glitters and flakes in a clear base for easy use over any manicure."  Again, spot on description from Rainbow Honey. I tried XOXO over a couple colors, Rainbow Honey Ephemeral and Zoya Gei Gei. For both sets of pictures I used 2 layers of XOXO and topped it off with a layer of topcoat. It was easy to apply, plenty of glitter came out with each brush dip.
