Bear Pawlish; You Ain't Limon, Holo Back Girl & Holo Friend

Good morning readers!  I have another new to me brand that I'm excited to share with you today.  Well it's not really new to me, I have been in the fan group and have lusted after quite a few of the beauties from Bear Pawlish for about 2 months now and just couldn't hold out any longer!  I ended up making a nice little purchase and have 3 of the 4 to show you today (I have a special idea for the 4th so keep an eye out for that one soon)!  Let me start this post by saying that Tennessee, the gal behind Bear Pawlish is really sweet!  Great customer service, very personable, gorgeous polish, plenty of stock (= no stress buying) and high quality formula.  So I think that's enough thumbs up that you should give the brand a try!  Alright - let's look at polish!

Bear Pawlish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

This is You Ain't Limon'!  It's described as a "very happy lemon lime jelly holo."  On the nose!  This is a bright and fun color and while in the sunlight it's a neon yellow, in regular lighting it's the same color as Mountain Dew!  I always feel perked up when I wear bright colors like this and You Ain't Limon' didn't disappoint!  The fact that it's an amazing holo just added to my elation.  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used  2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Holo Back Girl is another awesome holo!  Holo Back Girl is described as a "bright and intense purple linear holo."  I'd peg it more as a magenta-pink, but whatever color you think it is it's 100% amazing. The holo flame is really lovely with a strong purple color.  Again, the formula and application were both wonderful.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  Ok, now you know you want to sing Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl, I know I do!  And this polish definitely gets me fired up!

Holo Friend is like the punky micro glitter sister to Holo Back Girl.  Holo Friend is a "purple scattered holo with larger purple circles and black diamond glitters."  Again, I see a berry-magenta instead of purple but it's still amazing!  So sparkly you really have to see it in person.  This was a very dense micro glitter and I had full coverage in 2 coats!  The circles and diamonds came out a bit sparsely but the ones that did end up on my nails looked awesome!  Formula and application were both great.  Be warned though - micro glitters are always a pain to clean up and take off, be prepared to have little glitter particles everywhere!  I added a few extra pictures of Holo Friend to show off the sparkle.

Philly Loves Lacquer I Love You A Lime (April Dazzled Holo Grail Box)

Good morning all!  Long time no post.  I have actually been wearing polish for me lately and it's been nice to not hustle about taking pictures, watermarking, cropping and getting them on here.  I guess it was a mental break week.  Well I couldn't not share this with you because it's so gorgeous!  It's my first time trying Philly Loves Lacquer and paint me impressed!  I was lucky to pick this unique beauty up individually from someone selling it!  It's actually from the Dazzled April Holo Grail Box.  Let me just say that bottle pictures I've seen do this NO justice!  It is refreshing and unique and gorgeous!  So let's jump in and check out I Love You A Lime!

Philly Loves Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

Here it is!  I Love You A Lime!  It's a fabulous pastel sea foam green polish that is so much more!  It has a very soft scattered holo, holo shimmer, fine gold shimmer and tiny gold flakies that add so much interest and depth to the polish.  These three elements work together and create such a great effect in the polish, and against the base color it's like sea foamy, beachy awesomeness.  The formula and application were both lovely.  I used 3 coats of I Love You A Lime for full coverage and color payoff.  I then finished with 1 layer of topcoat - which didn't diminish any of the holo effect at all.

So what do you think?  I think I am in love with a new brand and look forward to trying more!

Above The Curve, Miscellaneous Review

Good evening dears!  Tonight I am (as usual) throwing up a post as I get ready to do other stuff.  Can you tell I am a nutritious multitasked?  Well I am doing laundry and bbq'ing a tri tip for the family while I wait for 5:30 so I can head over to the spa for my massage and facial.  It's been too long since I've gone and I am so looking forward to it.  So while I am getting a good deep tissue massage (and then the always less pleasant facial) you can peruse my post on these awesome Above The Curve polishes!  These are some truly awesome holos and I think you will be surprised which was my favorite!  Most of these are currently available at Above The Curve now, and there is also a huge selection of other lovely polishes.  They rang from $7.25-$8.50 for a full sized bottle.

This is Don't Blink from the Doctor Who, Part 2 collection.  Don't Blink is a "silver gray linear holo with fine black holo glitter and blue shimmer."  This one is awesome!  The holo effect is very strong and the black holo glitters do not take away from it.  They actually add some interest and I like the overall look.  The formula and application of Don't Blink are both great.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

This bright beauty is Watermelon from the Jolly Rancher inspired collection.  This absolutely reminds me of a Jolly Rancher!  It's so bright and sweet and juicy looking!  Wish I could lick it!  Watermelon is simply a "red jelly with linear holo."  Though this is an amazingly opaque jelly!  I was expecting a very sheer application but was wowed when I only needed 2 coats of Watermelon for full coverage!  High five ATC!  Again, formula and application were both fabulous.  No topcoat used for these pictures.

Lemming Have It, such a great name and a great color.  This is part of the Polish Addiction line and is described as a "beautiful purple/blue (blurple?) holo with blue shimmer flecks mixed in a jelly/crelly-ish base.  Lemming Have It is a really pretty and unique color to my collection.  The pictures are showing a bit deeper color than it actually is.  Lemming Have It is has an awesome formula and application.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

And finally we have Diva P.  This was my unexpected favorite.  When I first looked at it I thought, hmm holo topper.  Then I looked closer and realized it has some color shifting flecks in it too!  ATC says this is one of their "special effects holo toppers packed with shimmer."  What I love is that it has versatility.  You can wear this over any color for some added pizazz.  I chose to wear it over Barry M Rose Hip, a soft pink jelly formula polish.  I use 2 coats of Diva P and it was totally amazing!  No topcoat used.

I took a couple shade shots so you could see the color shifting flakies too! I think Diva P would be amazing over a darker base color and then matte-ified!

a-England Ballerina Collection

Good evening!  As you guessed I am dropping this post real quick while I cook dinner, bathe my kids and get myself ready to go out to a beauty event with my bestie.  The life of a wife/mom/bff/polish fanatic is sure busy, but I have so much fun doing everything (except having to talk to teachers at school - that's hardly ever fun).  Well I had a 3 of these beautiful a-England Ballerina's but for some reason couldn't bring myself to wear them until I had the 4th.  Thankfully Michelle at Ehmkay Nails put me out of my misery and sent me the 4th one for my birthday!  She's just awesome like that.  So I have these amazing holos to show you today and even did a couple pics with 1 on each finger so you can see them together.  Let's jump on in and look!

Up first is Fonteyn, "a soft silver holographic hue bearing a lavender tint."  Fonteyn is so lovely.  I love the almost matte-holo look that it has.  The formula was amazing and applied like butter.  I had complete coverage in 2 coats.  I think Fonteyn had the most holo flame of all the Ballerina's.  Fonteyn also dried quickly so this could be an option if you are running out the door and need some polish!  I did not use topcoat.

This is Encore Margot.  Encore Margot is an "icy blue prismatic hue" that really shows off that tight scattered holo effect.  Again, that metallic-matte holo look is very strong here.  The formula and application were both the highest quality (as were all the other Ballerinas in this collection).  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

Her Rose Adagio is a created to look like "faded roses in a silver prismatic base."  As Adina says, Her Rose Adagio is truly a "romantic" shade.  We see the metallic, matte holo finish here again and it is so pretty with this color.  Formula and application were both amazing again.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat

Dancing With Nureyev is my favorite of the Ballerina collection.  It is an amazing "violet-blue shade" that is just the perfect tone that isn't too light or dark and has a beautiful tight scattered holo effect.  The formula and application of Dancing With Nureyev were both fantabulous.  I had perfect coverage in 2 coats and no topcoat.

Here I've got all 4 of the Ballerina polishes on my hand together.  I did this mostly because Fonteyn and Encore Margot are pretty close in their bottles.  But here you can see that Fonteyn clearly leans more purple while Encore Margot is more blue (almost a minty blue).  Index to pinky:  Encore Margot, Fonteyn, Her Rose Adagio, Dancing with Nureyev.  2 coat of each color and no topcoat.
