China Glaze Electric Nights, Summer 2015

Good morning!  Hope it's a nice day for you, maybe you're on Spring Break?  My kids are and well, hopefully we all survive.  Kidding, I know we all will.  I always find something for us to do and we are taking a little trip down south to visit a certain famous mouse.  You know what I really like about this time of year though?  The fact that Summer is so close I can taste it!  And today's post is definitely a celebration of Summer!  The 12 neon creme/crellies in this post make up the Electric Nights Collection.  They are all pretty darn fabulous and have this wonderfully shiny formula that was really amazing.  Electric Nights has been filtering in to beauty supply stores and online shops now so a look around and see where you can find the best deal because you will want all 12 of these bright beauties!  I say these are a creme/crelly because they are full coverage but dry to a nice glossy finish and have a fairly squishy consistency.  While they aren't watery or thin they do tend to pool if you have too much polish on your brush so take care to brush the excess off.  With all that said are you ready for a neon party?  I am so let's jump in and check out these awesome shades!

Treble Maker is a lime green creme.  It's pretty bright, but not too eye-searing.  The formula was really creamy and glossy and built up to opacity nicely.  3 coats, no topcoat.

DJ Blue My Mind was a hard one for me to capture the color of.  I always have trouble with teal and this one is really beautiful!  My pictures are showing more blue tone than teal.  The formula and application were wonderful; creamy, opaque and shiny.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.  I'd also suggest a good base coat as this one did stain a little.

UV Meant To Be is a bright shade of aqua.  The formula on this one was just a tiny bit streaky/patchy but it did a good job leveling itself out.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Can I Get An Untz Untz is an interesting mix of neon green, yellow, blue and purple glitters.  They are smaller glitters so they are easy to work with and build upon.  I have seen a few reviews that show the glitters over white so I picked matching base shades from the collection to show them off.  The glitter coverage was fantastic, I only use 1 coat and plenty of glitter ended up on my nail.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Plur-ple is a darker toned grape-y purple.  Like a crazy neon grape.  Formula and application were both great.  Like the others, creamy, glossy and opaque.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Violet Vibes is a neon berry creme/crelly.  I'd say it's more of a magenta tone and I totally dig it!  No problems with the formula or application, all smooth sailing here.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Point Me To The Party is a fun rainbow of neon glitters.  Much like the last glitter topper, this one is is full of small glitters that are easy to work with.  The glitter payoff was great, loads of glitter comes out with each brush dip.  The glitter spread perfectly on the nail, no clumping or dragging towards the tips of my nails.  I have on 1 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Ok so I liked the magenta color but I love anything pink.  Glow With The Flow is a bright pink creme/crelly.  I really do love this color, so bright and fun.  The formula was top notch.  Creamy and nice coverage.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

We've officially moved into eye-searing county here.  And those last 3 creme/crellies are my favorites in the collection because well, I like when my eyes get seared off.  Red-y To Rave is a bright neon orange, almost a red-orange.  It actually has different levels of brightness depending on the lighting - you'll see what I mean soon.  Loved the formula, perfect application, zero problems to mention.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.

Home Sweet House Music is a neon apricot shade.  I love the color but the formula was the only one that gave me a difficult time.  Home Sweet House Music was a bit streaky and it took some work to level it out.  I did only use 3 coats but  I had to paint carefully to not create any extra patches.  No topcoat.

Daisy Know My Name? is the classic summer yellow that everyone loves.  It has that yellow highlighter look to it and that's cool with me!  The formula and application were both stellar.  I was actually expecting this one to give me a hard time but it was all gravy.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat

And the last glitter topper to round out the collection is Let The Beat Drop, a mix of pink orange and red glitter. While I do like this combination of colors I didn't care for it over Daisy.  Again, the formula and application of this glitter were both great.  No issues to report, only a plethora of glitter that spread out on my nails perfectly.  I have on 1 layer and no topcoat.

Glam Polish Hibiscus

Good afternoon!  It's sunny but a little chilly from the wind over here.  I am just ready for summer already.  Hanging out in the backyard, watching the kids on the slip n slide, a cold beverage in my hand, soaking up rays.  Sounds like a country song!  I suppose until I can have all that I will pacify myself with all these fabulous summery bright shades that all the brands are putting out right now.  Yes I totally have an orange/red/coral problem...I have bought quite a few in the last couple months and yeah, they all rock!  This one is from Glam Polish, it's a Special Limited Edition from the Over The Rainbow Flakies Collection (Part 1), but it's still available now if you like it!  Let's jump in and check it out!

This bright coral beauty is Hibiscus.  I'll admit that even though I adored the color, the fact that the collection was inspired by Hawaii definitely made it a no brainer for me to buy a few (yeah I would like them all, but a gals gotta show restraint sometimes).  Hibiscus is another one of those colors that is so "Jen" it's crazy.  I simply adore this shade of coral, it's super bright and gorgeous.  The addition of the flakes is genius!  In the bright sun it's got a subtle holo and those iridescent sparkling flakies, but in the shade you can see orange purple playing on your nails.  The formula and application were both perfection.  I used 2-3 coats of Hibiscus (can't remember which because I didn't write any notes down, derp) and 1 layer of topcoat.

China Glaze Pop the Trunk

Good afternoon all and happy MY BIRTHDAY MONTH.  Haha.  I'm really excited to share the things I've gotten in the mail to swatch lately and will be delving in to those over the next few days.  Neons and holos galore, I am so excited!  Another color I am super excited about is this bright red-orange from the China Glaze Road Trip collection.  It was released for the Spring and the collection was full of soft subtle colors as well as a few brights for some nice contrast.  I surprisingly was drawn to both sides of the scale and ended up going home with a handful of subtle and another handful of bright.  

So let's take a look at this beautiful color - I promise to not wait to long to share the others!

This is Pop The Trunk, and as mentioned before it's from the Road Trip Collection.  This is a bright orange creme, but I think it leans fairly red.  This red-orange hybrid is actually one of my favorite shades in the color spectrum.  The formula was really lovely, opaque and creamy.  No issues at all.  I had full coverage with 2 coats of Pop The Trunk.  1 layer of topcoat but it didn't really need it.
