Elevation Polish Icho Namiki

Good morning, happy Saturday and happy start to the 3-day weekend!  Hopefully you have plans with family and friends to enjoy this weekend and can take a moment to reflect on why we have this holiday.  I know we are planning on a few family events, maybe heading to the city, an MLS soccer game, maybe even a bbq!  But before my weekend starts I wanted to share a really fantastic polish from the Elevation Polish Streets of Japan Collection, which launched this month.  If you love neon you totally need this color.  You can pick up Icho Namiki now for $9.50.  Let's jump in and check it out!

Icho Namiki is a "neon yellow (crelly), glow in the dark, UV reactive, gold micro shimmer with charcoal shift to blue flake shimmer."   It's a strange in-between color, sometimes leaning more green others looking more yellow.  One thing's for sure, it's BRIGHT!  The flakies are really awesome and add a nice touch of uniqueness and interest to the base.  And that gold micro shimmer is fabulous!  You can really see it in action in my macro.  I used 3 coats of Icho Namiki for full coverage and a layer of topcoat.

Two Be Berry Sweet is a fuchsia/pink jelly full of purple, magenta, pink and silver glitters in a mix of matte and holo.  There is a touch of iridescent glitter too.  I used 3 thin coats for near-opaque coverage.  The jelly was nice and shiny and the glitters are the perfect color combination.  No topcoat used.

Burberry Spring 2015

Good morning lovelies!  It's been cold and ugly here lately, I guess Spring decided to rear it's head late in the game.  Something tells me it's going to rain today and that's fine by me.  I just want to spend the day in my bed, cozied up in the blankets.  My late soccer game and a sick kid kept me up  most of the night.  And now I have a sore throat, yay.  But I also have this pretty Spring collection to share with you and I have a feeling it will perk the day up a bit.  A while back I had asked what you (the reader) wanted to see more of and one of the replies was "more mainstream brands."  Today's post is actually a luxury brand but it's easy to pick up in any upscale department store that has a makeup section so hopefully this will suffice for the moment.  Today's post features the new Burberry Spring 2015 collection.  It consists of 6 beautiful creme polishes in great colors that everyone should have in their collection (I only have 5 to share with you).  I also like how these shades really screamed "Burberry" to me.  I've seen this Limited Edition set on the shelves in many departments stores Burberry Beauty section and they retail for $22 each.  So let's jump in to the post and see what these luxury polishes are all about.

Burberry Beauty: BurberryNordstrom, Saks
Imperial Blue #429 is a pretty cobalt blue creme.  It had a lovely formula that applied like butter.  I used 2 coats of Imperial Blue and no topcoat.

Hydrangea Pink #402 is a soft floral pink.  I know Burberry is known for their neutral and natural shades and this really fits into their overall theme.  This feminine color is very fresh and easy to wear.  The formula and application were both superb.  I used 2 coats of Hydrangea Pink for full coverage.

Stone Blue #431 is a nice slate blue.  This is a really pretty blue that is pretty understated on the nails.  It reminds me of blue/grey rainy day Spring skies. Again, wonderful formula here and Stone Blue applied so easily.  I used 1 coat of Stone Blue and no topcoat.

Here's Aqua Green #418, a refreshing shade of green.  I do think it leans more green than aqua but I can see how it could be placed in both categories.  Loved the color, loved the formula.  Aqua Green applied perfectly in 2 coats and no topcoat.

So this is the last one I have to share but there is a 6th color that I don't have.  Hopefully I can pick it up and share it later.  This is Bright Coral Red #414 and it's TOTALLY my color!  I truly adore these red-orange-coral shades.  I want to wear (and buy) them all the time.  Big fan of the color, big fan of the formula and application.  I used 2 coats of Bright Coral Red and no topcoat.

Sweet Heart Polish Sweet Summer Memories

Good evening!  Sorry for going missing this weekend, I had a little mishap with my phone and a toilet during a "mom's night out" with some of my friends.  So I had no phone all weekend and that usually where I share photos to Instagram and random posts to my Facebook page.  Aside from that it was 100% soccer all weekend long - I'm actually glad the boys don't play during the summer because it's getting tiring going to practices and games for 4 people every weekend.  Anywho, now I feel like I have catching up to do.  So let's start with a collection that launched today!  Sweet Heart Polish came up with a really awesome collection of glitter careless and named them after Summery activities that will certainly bring up some childhood memories (for most of us at least).  The Sweet Summer Memories collection consists of 4 lovely polishes that you can pick up now for $9.00USD each.  So let's jump in and hear about these fun and beautiful polishes.

Up first I have Fireworks!, a "mix of red, teal & pastel glitters with mini teal stars and a red flash of shimmer in a white crelly." I love the tiny stars and the shimmer in Fireworks!, so pretty.  It really is the little details like those that really make a polish stand out for me and Fireworks! does indeed look like fireworks and the 4th of July with the colors and stars used. Fireworks! had a great formula and built up nicely in 3 coats.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

This is At The Drive-In, a "blend of purple, turquoise and aqua glitters with a splash of iridescent purple glitter and a bright purple flash in a white crelly base."  The colors in this one totally work for a drive-in.  The darker shades definitely make me think of that twilight/dusk time of the evening.  The colors really pop against the white base.  At the Drive-In had a great formula that was easy to work with.  I used 3 coats and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Under the Boardwalk is one of my favorites in the collection.  It's such a delicate and gorgeous mix of "pastel purple and green glitters with green micro flakes."  I had been craving crelly so much and when I put on Under the Boardwalk my desire was completely satiated.  It's absolutely crelly perfection and is very reminiscent of sun bleached sea shells that you'd find out on the beach or under the boardwalk.  I used 4 coats of Under the Boardwalk (it's a lighter base color to start with) and finished with a layer of topcoat.

And finally we've come to my favorite, because you know I always save the best for last.  County Fair is a "mix of fun neon glitters with some satin pastel circles thrown in the mix and bright blue micro flakes."  The neon glitters with the clean white base are lovely.  I found the formula of County Fair to be wonderful, great coverage and fabulous application.  Used 4 coats of County Fair and 1 layer of topcoat.
