Paint Box Polish Mani Fizzies

Good morning Monday!  Hope your morning is going swimmingly.  Mine is hectic, rushing around to appointments and camp and swim lessons.  Blah.  I'm ready for vacation!  Today I have a non-polish, polish related post of you today.  I recently shared my post featuring Paint Box Polish North Shore Collection (you can see it HERE).  Well these awesome Mani Fizzies were also released that day.  I only now had a chance to try them and I am kicking myself for not trying them sooner.  Aside from never wanting to take 10 minutes to sit still, my fingers and hands had been a bit ragged from using so much polish remover.  I was very pleased with the moisturizing I received here.  You can pick up Mani Fizzies in a variety of scents in the Paint Box Polish shop now. They are only $1.50 each!  So let's talk Mani Fizzies!

Lately my hands have been a bit rough, to put it nicely.  So much chlorine, sunshine and polish remover really doesn't make for lovely hands.  So I needed to do something about it.  Enter the Mani Fizzie.  This little pressed shape is full of loads of moisturizing ingredients; coconut oil, almond oil, aloe and Vitamin E.  I followed the directions, dropping the Mani Fizzie into a bowl of warm water.  The fizzing starts immediately and I plunked my hands in to let them soak for 10 minutes.  The water felt so nice and it smelled amazing.  I had the Beach Bum scent and I am ALL ABOUT sunblock scented things during the summer.  Once the timer went off I lightly blotted my hands dry and rubbed the rest of the oils in.  The oil sunk in quickly and my hands were left totally soft and moisturized.  They were lightly scented and soft for a good while after pulling them out of the water.  If you haven't tried a Mani Fizzie yet I highly suggest you do!  These are amazing and it was actually nice to make myself sit still and relax for 10 minutes.

My little Beach Bum came broken but it didn't affect his "effectiveness."  He looks like a little broken gingerbread man.  But he smelled so much better!  Beach Bum definitely had that suntan lotion scent that I love so much.  I want cuticle oil, sugar scrub, body wash, everything to have this scent.

The bubbling starts right away and you can see the moisturizing oils being released into the water.

Naomi got into the action too.  She actually sat with me for 10 minutes and dunked her hands in there.  She loved pulling her hands out to take a whiff of the sunblock scent.

My hands enjoyed the warm water and the oils floating around.

10 minutes up, our hands look amazing!  Soft, supple and clean.

And my nails look amazing after the Mani Fizzie soak too!  Definitely ready for the next paint job.

You Polish Mommy & Me Nail Vinyls

Hello Sunday!  What are you up to?  I'm sitting on the couch taking a house cleaning/laundry folding break while I snack on left over s'mores dip and watch the USA vs Japan pre-game show.  I'm so excited for this game I am considering skipping my own game so I don't miss anything.  So before that game starts I wanted to share some awesome nail vinyls that I received recently.   You Polish recently released Mommy & Me nail decals that are for (as the name implies) mommy and littles nails!  My little, Naomi, who has been shared on my blog and instagram many times, LOVE having her nails painted.  She always wants me to do designs and stickers and glitters but her nails are so tiny that nothing ever fits.  When our mail arrived and and I showed Naomi all the tiny decals: mermaids, stars, hearts, cupcakes, she was so excited!  These Mommy & Me vinyls are available now.  Let's check out some of these vinyls!

Here are my nails using the Mommy & Me vinyls.  I picked out a mermaid and wavy lines to create a beachy look.  I found the vinyls very easy to use.  I stuck the wavy lines to the back of my hand to get a little of the stick off, then applied them to my dry-paint nails.  I painted a over the vinyls and removed them while the paint was still wet.  The design came out perfectly!  I think it's actually the first time I've had such success using vinyls!  I then tried the mermaid.  I had a little holo sponging on my nail and placed the mermaid over that sponging.  I painted over with a dark blue jelly - which was nice because you could still see the sparkly holo underneath.  I used tweezers to lift up the mermaid tail and pull off the sticker, which I'll admit wasn't the easiest feat.  Maybe I am just supposed to leave the sticker on my nail?  Regardless, I was able to get the sticker off and I  LOVE how it turned out!  I added a little shell to the bottom of my nail by the mermaid, which I picked up at my local beauty supply store.  I let my nails dry and finished it off with topcoat.

Polish used: Echoes Polish I'm Trouble, You Feel The Ground Shake? and Cool And Collected.  OPI Indigo Motif.

And here are Naomi's nails!  Her nails are so tiny I didn't think there would be vinyls or decals that would fit but You Polish proved me wrong.  Naomi wanted an assortment on her nails - the long strips and the shapes.  So we did just that.  I can't remember what we painted her nails with to be honest, but as you can see we used; wavy lines, zig zags, a bow, a mermaid, a cupcake, a heart and a butterfly.  The longer strips - wavy lines, zig zags & bow were easy to use and pull off.  They are so tiny that I think the design got a little lost in the polish.  The other tiny stickers - heart, butterfly, cupcake, mermaid,  were just to tiny that I didn't even attempt to paint over them and pull them off.  And Naomi was completely happy to have the stickers on her nails.

Echoes Polish Stop, Drop and Holo Collection, Summer 2015

Good morning and happy 4th of July!  I do have on a 4th of July mani, I shared it on my Instagram account HERE.  Hopefully you are enjoying a brew and some bbq - ready to watch fireworks tonight.   I am doing all those things later today, but right now I am enjoying a few minutes of downtime after a morning race (which I took 3rd place in) and sharing this fabulous post with you!  This is a new-to-me brand, Echoes Polish.  If you head over to their website you will learn that Echoes Polish is run by 2 sisters from Canada.  And if you look through the shop you'll see tons of polish in a wide variety of finishes.  But what I have to share with you today is the brand new Stop, Drop and Holo collection.  A set of 6 neon jelly-ish polishes full of holo.  This collection had me oohing and aahing, I liked each more than that last.  The Stop, Drop and Holo collection will be available tomorrow, 7/5 at 12pm EST.  They will be $11CAD each and Echoes Polish does ship outside of Canada.  You ready to see neon holos?  Me too, lesgo!

Up first is Put My Fire Out!  This is a red-coral neon holo with a jelly-like formula.  This color is amazing.  The holo sits somewhere perfectly between linear and scattered (I think it's a little of both).  The formula was fantastic and the application was easy-peasy.  I used 3 coats of Put My Fire Out! and 1 layer of topcoat to gloss things up.

Here's Emergency Pink.  I know this will be a favorite because pink is such a popular color.  Pretty much everyone I know loves pink.  Emergency Pink is a perfect neon holo.  Bright, loud but girly.  We've got another jelly-like formula here and it's prefect for this polish.  The formula was nice and smooth, the application was fabulous.  I had full coverage in 3 coats of Emergency Pink and 1 layer of topcoat.

My Safety Color is indeed my safety color.  When I don't know what to wear I usually find myself reaching for some shade of orange.  My Safety Color is an awesome, juicy neon orange holo.  Just like the last ones, the formula and application were both stellar.  I used 3 coats of My Safety Color for full coverage and finished with a layer of topcoat for a glossy finish.

I really liked all the previous colors, but when I got to You Feel The Ground Shake? my heart skipped a few beats.  THIS color is totally killing it!  It's an awesome neon sour apple green holo polish with a jelly finish.  I loved everything about it, including the formula and application.  Both were fabulous.  I used 3 coats of You Feel The Ground Shake? for my pictures.  You can see that there is still a bit of visible nail line, but it doesn't bother me.  You can opt for a 4th coat or starting with a matching base color, but I really don't think you'll need to do that.  I topped it off with a layer of topcoat.

Cool And Collected is a serene but electric neon blue holo.  I can't help but think of Debbie Gibson when I see this shade of blue, I really don't know why.  You're welcome for that useless little bit of information about me.  In real life Cool And Collected is just a touch brighter than my pictures.  the formula has that great jelly consistency that is easy to build up in layers.  I used 3 coats of Cool And Collected, again you can very slightly see the visible nail line here but it's really very minimal.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Last but not least, especially since it was my other favorite color in the collection, is I'm Trouble.  Indeed I am.  This is a magenta-purple polish full of holo pigment.  I'm Trouble has the most opaque formula of all the 6 in this collection.  It's actually more of a creme finish too. I only needed to use 2 coats of I'm Trouble for full coverage.  1 layer of topcoat to shine things up.
