Emerald & Ash Your Face

Good evening!  Making the most of my "sittingin the car at the field waiting for my son to finish soccer practice" time.  Thank goodness for DVD players in cars (my other littles are watching a movie while I blog!).  I HAD to share this with you NOW (sorry for yelling) because in a couple hours you too can own this fabulous shimmery-shifty matte topper!  Ok, ok so here's the details about this polish.  Your Face was an exclusive polish for the Las Vegas Cocktail & Colors event but Ashely and Nate decided to let everyone else get in on the fun too!  And tonight is their grand re-opening with lots of new cuticle oil scents (YAS), Period Poops is making a full time comeback and Your Face will be released.  The shop opens at 7pm MST so get your wallet ready!  Your Face will be available in 2 sizes; 10ml for $7.00 and 15ml for $9.00.  So let's jump in and check this beauty out!

Here is Your Face!  First off I love that this is one of Ashley & Nate's inside jokes and they turned it into a polish.  If you've met them in person you know how adorable they are together and I can totally picture them saying this to each other.  Your Face is a "versatile topcoat filled with color shifting shimmer and flakes that can be applied over another polish to create a beautiful shimmering matte look."  This is so lovely and it's matte!  I'm super into matte right now so huge bonus points!  The formula and application were both fabulous.  1 easy coat over the base colors I chose and I have full coverage.  Your Face dries quickly too!  The first pictures are of Your Face over a deep emerald green creme.

Here's what Your Face looks like with a shiny topcoat.  The green and purple flakes really pop and the shifting colors are more noticeable this way.

Finally, I grabbed a few macros of Your Face over different base colors.  I tried Your Face over a red creme, a purple jelly and a blue creme.  Different elements of Your Face are more prominent over different base colors so if you pick up a bottle make sure you try it over a few bases to find the one you love the most!  In my opinion they are all equally gorgeous!

Sweet Heart Polish Oct 21 2015, Limited Edition Polish

Good morning!  I am so happy that we are finally getting some Fall weather over here in NorCal.  We got a nice dose of rain yesterday - which was awesome except that I forgot about my clothes hanging out to dry so those got a second rinse cycle.  And hopefully there'll be a break in the heat now too!  Well I wanted to share a beautiful, limited edition polish from Sweet Heart Polish that I picked up last month.  Cassandra created this beauty in limited supply and as a nod to Back to the Future.  Oct 21 2015 is $11 USD and there are still a few bottles available!  So read my post and look at my pictures real quick like and go get yours ASAP!

Oct 21 2015 is a "frosty lilac ultra linear holographic polish with blue to violet to gold shifting UCC flakes."  This is quite possibly one of my favorite Sweet Heart Polishes to date!  Cassandra really pulled out all the stops and I am huge on adding extras to a holo so the flakes really make my day.  In fact I do believe she was going for that Delorean look with these colors.  Oct 21 2015 had a great formula that applied easily.  I was pleased with the amount of flakes I got on each nail and the different sizes of the flakes added a lot of interest.  I used 3 coats of Oct 21 2015 and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Smitten Polish Hella Holo Customs; Bengal Tiger, Kenyan Sunset & Cecil the Lion

Hey Hey!  Happy Monday.  A couple months back I picked up a few beautiful custom polishes from one of my favorite brands...Smitten Polish.  Noelie created these for the Hella Holo Customs group on Facebook and she really knocked them out of the park!  I've mentioned this group before but if you want to get in on these beautiful custom holos that aren't available to the public request to join!  So back to the Smittens, they are inspired colors and also extremely perfect for the Fall season.  You ready to jump in and check out this stunning trio?  Then let's go!

*nothing to disclose*

Up first I have Bengal Tiger.  This is a rusty orange linear holo.  And when I say holo I mean super holo.  It's gorgeous!  The formula and application were both purrrrrfect.  Smooth and creamy, so very buttery.  I used 2 coats of Bengal Tiger and a layer of topcoat.

Next is Kenyan Sunset.  Hot damn this is a gorgeous polish!  Such a perfect magenta holo.  This baby had fabulous formula that applied like a dream.  Kenyan Sunset could easily be a one coater, but I used 2 (because I have weird OCD like that).  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

I'm sure you all know the tragic story of Cecil the Lion by now.  Noelie created this polish in his memory and the tawny light brown holo micro glitter shade is amazing.  A potion of the proceeds from the sales of this polish were donated to the Big Cat Initiative.  Cecil the Lion had a great formula, just like all the other micro glitters I've tried from Smitten before.  I used 3 coats for full coverage.  1 layer of topcoat left me with a smooth to the touch finish.

Native War Paints; Constable, Walking Lantern & No Sanctuary

Happy Sunday!  Did you all make it through Halloween?  Hopefully no candy or adult beverage hangovers were in your cards today.  I'm pretty stoked at the stash we've got going on over here because I totally plan to sneak my fair share of pieces.  Well now that my favorite holiday has passed we can move on to other things....like The Walking Dead!  Did you guys watch last week?!?!  UGH!  I held my breath for the entire hour (yes I'm amazing and can hold my breath that long).  So I figured it was appropriate to share a few polishes I picked up from Native War Paints from the No Sanctuary Collection since TWD is on tonight!  No Sanctuary is a 6-piece collection and all the colors are gorgeous!  I had a hard time just picking a couple!  And this was my first time trying out Native War Paints...I was very please and will definitely be going back for more!  You can pick up the whole No Sanctuary Collection for $52 or individual bottles for $8.50-$9.50 each.  So let's jump in and check out these lovely polishes.

Up first is Constable.  It's a "taupe holographic polish filled with red flakies."  This color is gorgeous! I love the holo shimmers and red flakies in there!  The formula was pretty sheer but it built up well in 3-4 coats (I can't recall exactly which I used).  Application was easy peasy.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Had to show Constable with my Rick key chain!

This is Walking Lantern.  It's a "pale green shimmer polish with pale green and red flakies that glow red in the dark."  It actually seems more like white polish to me but whatever it is it's very subtle and pretty.  Definitely an ethereal look.  Walking Lantern is very sheer.  I used 4 coats and still have visible nail line.  I also found that it applied a bit patchy.  On top of that the glow was super hard to get going.  I charged the polish for a good 5 minutes and only got the dimes of glow.  but the red does look pretty darn cool, just wish it were brighter.  So Walking Lantern was  bit of a miss for me.

As much as I loved Constable (hello it's such a gorgeous color and finish), No Sanctuary is the one that got my heart beating faster.  This beauty is a "black holographic polish packed with red shimmer along with a  scattering of red micro glitter." That red shimmer against the black - oh mama, you know what I like!  No Sanctuary had a perfect formula that was super easy to apply.  2 coats for full coverage with all that rich color!  I finished with a layer of topcoat.
