Press Release: China Glaze Cheers! Holiday Collection

Darling Diva Polish Have You Ever Been Mistaken For A Man?

Hullo out there in polish land!  How you doing today?  Me, I'm ok.  I seem to have caught a cold from the kids so I am attempting to battle that and continue to plug on doing my momly duties.  I probably should have reconsidered taking a run in the cold and rain yesterday.  I probably also should have thought twice about going back out with wet hair.  Anywho, something that makes me feel immensely better is wearing a stunning vampy holo.  Today I'm sharing just the thing to brighten my day and hopefully yours too!  Darling Diva Polish came out with an Aliens themed collection a few months back and it was full of deep, dark beauties that I couldn't wait to get my hands on.  The Hug My Face (aka Alien) Collection is mostly still available and you can pick them up now. The prices range from $8.50-$12 USD.  Keep an eye out on Carrie's Instagram and Facebook page because she runs sales pretty frequently!  Ok let's jump in and check out this amazing holo.

Cuccio Royale Collection, Fall 2015

Good morning friends!  I've got a good and somewhat lengthy post for you today.  Way back when I was having the time of my life in Las Vegas and rubbing elbows with all the nail polish peeps, I got to meet some lovely folks representing the Cuccio brand.  Now I knew this brand already because I am a fan of their body butters and cuticle sticks.  I also knew they made polish because I'd seen a few of their gels in my local beauty supply store.  Well what I wasn't expecting was to see this (and another) stunning collection displayed at the Tips & Sips event!  The Royale Collection is Cuccio's answer to the Fall season and it's pretty dang perfect!  Rich cremes, shimmery jewel tones and even a multichrome!  While browsing around the Cuccio website I wasn't able to find this collection, but I did see it available on HB Beauty Bar for $8.50 each.  But keep checking the Cuccio website because I'm sure the Royale collection will be available soon.

This is a long post so I'll try to keep each individual blurb short and sweet.  This is Count Me In, a smokey, purple creme.  The formula was creamy and buttery.  I had full coverage in 1 coat of Count Me In.  No topcoat used.

Cirque Colors Coven

Good evening dears.  I hope you had a lovely Sunday.  Mine was so very meh.  Second day out here in the middle of nowhere and my sons soccer team took a whooping all weekend.  And it rained on us the entire second game today.  I sure hope none of us end up sick.  Anywho, I've got a gorgeous deep, jewel tone purple from Cirque to show you tonight.  It looks like the sky I see out my car window right now (I promise I am the passenger and not the driver).  Coven was actually part of the All Holo's Eve Trio (a set with Lacquer Lust and Serum No 5).  The trio was limited edition and these collaboration boxes have been pretty popular so they do sell out.  I am hopeful that there will be a Christmas trio from these loverly ladies on the horizon soon!  So let's jump in and check out Coven!

*nothing to disclose*

Coven is an "indigo jelly with an orange to green shimmer effect."  Holy moly this is a gorgeous polish!  I love it's dark, broody shade of purple and the shimmer are what really make the polish.  I wore Coven for a few days and it was such an eye-catcher.  I spent a good portion of my daylight hours o moving my hands around to see the glints of colors changes.  The formula and application were really great.  On par with a jelly, a bit sheer, but buildable.   No issues with application.  I used 3 coats of Coven and finished with a layer of topcoat.

I had several friends who were curios if Coven was a dupe for Coronation.  I am happy to report that it's definitely not.  I've got some pictures to show you too!

Cirque Colors Coven vs Coronation

I've got 3 layers of Coronation on my accent nail to show how it looks net to Coven.  You can see the color is completely different - more magenta.  And there is no green shift in the shimmer.

Paint Box Polish Ravenclaw & Gryffindor

Good morning dears!  You are reading.  I am driving to the Central Valley for a soccer tournament.  You are probably having more fun than me.  Ok I am being dramatic.  I love watching my kids play, I'm his biggest fan!  If you were around last night and saw my post you'd know that Paint Box Polish is releasing a new collection today - The Knight Bus Collection.  If you missed it you can see it HERE.  But today I am sharing a few polishes from an older collection also inspired by Harry Potter. You can pick up either of the beauties I am sharing today or any others using my discount code MNPO for 15% off!  Happy shopping!

This blue beauty is Ravenclaw.  It's a shimmery, deep blue packed with fine bronze glitter.   Of course this is inspired by the House Ravenclaw.  If you look up Ravenclaw on Harry Potter Wiki you will learn that "Ravenclaw values intelligence, knowledge and wit.  It's emblematic animal is the eagle, and it's colors are blue and bronze."  Pam nailed it!  The base plus the glitters create a metallic look that is so pretty.  The formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Ravenclaw for full coverage and finished with a layer of topcoat.

And everyone's favorite house, Gryffindor!  I went on Pottermore and am happy to report that I was placed in the Gryffindor!  Gryffindor is described as valuing "bravery, daring, nerve and chivalry.  It's emblematic animal is the lion and the colors are scarlet and gold." And Paint Box's Gryffindor is shimmery red fine gold glitters in irregular shapes.  This is a stunning color!  It's one of those lit-up, glowing ember red types that get me all lusty.  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 2 coats of Gryffindor for full coverage and a layer of topcoat.

I had to share one more picture of Gryffindor!  Here I am holding my Hermoine Granger wand.  I got this from Olivander's in Daigon Alley.  Coolest place ever!  If you haven't been to Universal Studios Orlando, all the Harry Potter stuff makes it more than worth the crowds.

Paint Box Polish The Knight Bus Collection, Fall 2015

Good evening dears!  It's been a looooong week, I'm so happy it's Friday!  Of course this is going to be a looooong weekend so no rest for the weary.  I'll be packing the family up to head off to a nearby (and middle of no-where) city for my oldest son's soccer tournament.  It'll be fun, but I have a lot to do tonight.  While I have 5 minutes to breathe before my middle's basketball practice I thought we could talk polish!  Paint Box Polish is know for awesome Harry Potter inspired polishes and Pam has a new collection coming out, and yes it's another fabulous set inspired by Harry Potter!  The 4-piece set is called The Knight Bus and it takes scenes from the Prisoner of Azkaban.  This fun and versatile collection will release on Saturday 11/7 at noon EST.  And guess what?  I have a discount code of you to use - MNPO for 15% off your entire order, YAY!  So let's jump in and check things out!

I just wanted to show you Pam's adorable packaging.  I love the wrapping and the little string that ties it up into a neat little parcel.

And here's your first peek at the new The Knight Bus Collection!  Oooh lala, look at those lovely colors!

I also got some mani fizzles and cuticle oils from her recent sale so I thought I'd share those too.  I got Pumpkin Latte and Pumpkin Juice (releasing with The Knight Bus set) cuticle oils as well as S'mores,  Harvest Apple and Pumpkin Spice Mani Fizzies.  They all smell so amazing!  I just have to say that I have tried a few different mani bombs and the ones from Paint Box Polish are hands down my favorite!  They are wonderfully scented and super moisturizing.

Ok, what you were waiting for...POLISH!  Up first is What 'Choo Fell Over For?.  This is a dark grey creme made with white, blue and purple flecks.  What 'Choo Fell Over For? is very unique to my collection - probably to any collection!  I love how the colorful flecks really show through the base.  This one had an awesome formula that applied easily.  I reached full coverage in 2 coats and a layer of topcoat.

The Leaky Cauldron is a dusty, warm, dirty orange linear holo and fiery copper flecks. So I'm probably biased because I love orange but HELLO LOVER!  I love this polish!  Beautiful color, fan-flipping-tastic formula!  This baby applied like butter.  I had full coverage with 2 coats of The Leaky Cauldron and finished with a layer of topcoat.

This is my other favorite in the collection...Won't The Muggles See Us?.  It's a pale blue with grey and violet flakies and white and blue flecks.  This is another totally unique and awesome polish!  Formula and application were both stellar.  I used 2 easy coats of Won't The Muggles See Us? for full coverage.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

And finally we have The Knight Bus.  This is a buttery blue-leaning purple creme.  It's gorgeous!  This is totally my kind of purple!  The formula was great and very creamy.  I reached full opacity in 2 coats but slapped on a 3rd because I took pictures in the direct sun.  I didn't need topcoat for The Knight Bus - look how shiny and lovely it is!
