Good evening!  I am back with another post for you and I totally love this one!  Last year Cassandra from Sweet Heart Polish did several duos inspired by Disneyland and this particular one was receiving such a large request that she worked it out and is re-releasing the Grim Grinning Ghosts Duo!  YAY Haunted Mansion lovers rejoice!  Paired up with The Lady Varnishes, this duo is the perfect blend of dark, spooky and glow in the dark.  The Grim Grinning Ghosts Duo will be for sale tomorrow (10/2) at 9am PST.  The duo will cost $20 USD and there will be 10 sets available in each shop (only 20 sets total).  Ready?  Keep your hands and feet inside the Doom Buggy at all times and always watch out for hitch-hiking ghosts.

Up first I have Welcome, Foolish Mortals by The Lady Varnishes.  This is a murky, minty green full of iridescent glitters in several sizes.  Welcome, Foolish Mortals is a sheer crelly polish but it builds up easily in a few coats.  I'd suggest letting each layer dry fully before adding the next.  You know something else?  Welcome, Foolish Mortals glows in the dark!!  And the glow is very bright and takes just a little light to get a good charge.  I used 3 coats of Welcome, Foolish Mortals and 1 layer of topcoat.

Hurry Ba-ack.  And don't forget your Death Certificate.

The other part of the duo is Sweet Heart Polish Hurry Ba-ack.  This is a black jelly polish full of green, purple and blue hexs in a couple different sizes.  There's also a nice dose of holo shimmer for a sparkly touch.  I absolutely love this color.  It's a perfect polish for October and trips to Disneyland!  The formula and application of Hurry Ba-ack were both stellar.  I used 3 coats of Hurry Ba-ack for full coverage and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Tinkerbell 10K & My Pirate Fairy Zarina Mani!

Good afternoon dears!  If you are an avid follower of my Instagram or Facebook page you know that I spent last weekend in Disneyland to participate in the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon Weekend.  I was lucky enough to find a bib for the 10K late in the game as everything was sold out.  I was very happy to get into the race again this year and had an absolute blast!  I even had a pretty great race time!  6.2 miles in 57:20.  It's a very crowded race so it's quite difficult to PR (personal record) in a Disney race and this was my second fastest run recorded on my RunKeeper app.  Pretty good even though I had to weave and zig zag though other runners for the first 2 miles.  Anywho, yes I was tired, yes my legs were a bit sore (more uphills than I expected) but I walked away wishing I had signed up for the 1/2 or even the Pixie Dust Challenge - both the 10K and the 1/2 totaling 19.3 miles.  Next time!  Until then here's my costume, nails and pictures from race day!

I decided to dress up as Pirate Fairy Zarina from The Pirate Fairy movie.

Here's my "flat" Zarina costume.

And here's my mani with my daughters Zarina doll.

I remembered to get a few pictures of my all mani while in the park.  I was actually in line for California Screamin with my middle child.  I love how my nails turned out, even thought my Jolly Roger pirate skull is off center.

I used a-England Dragon (green), a-england Holy Grail (gold), Sheswai Honeyfox (red), KBShimmer Sun & Games (gold glitter) and basic black and white polishes for the art.

I had to get up at 3:30am to get to the race in time.  It was dark and cold and I was so tired. It's hard to get a good night's rest when you know you have something to do early the next day.  I think the excitement kept me awake.

Pre-race selfie.  See, still dark out.  Thankfully the adrenaline was already going so I wasn't as cold at this point.

Race time!

Announcers wishing us all a great race.

Super blurry shot of running down Main Street.  The castle is in the background.  Sorry, I was running, best I could do.  LOL.  I actually didn't stop for any pictures with characters or photo op spots.  I was focused on finishing with a descent time.

Another blurry run-by pic of Lightning McQueen & Mater in Radiator Springs.  Running through the parks is the best part of the race. I'm glad they were at the end of the race this time instead of the beginning.  Helped push me through to the finish line.

I ran backwards to get this pic of me coming up to the 6 mile marker!  Yeah, kind of dangerous as there was a big box that I easily could have tripped over.  Thank goodness I didn't!

Another blurry running pic - this is the finish line!  They announce names as you are approaching the finish line.  And there are characters lined up to high five you!

I stopped RunKeeper a bit after crossing the finish line so it show's my time a little off.  But I wanted to share the course!

DONE!  Got my Gatorade, banana and MEDAL!

Feeling pretty accomplished at this point!

One more picture showing off my medal.

And my #runmani.  I use this hashtag on my Instagram page to share my mani's when I go running.  I thought it would be fun to share this one holding the medal instead of my usual post holding my water bottle.

Treated myself to beignets and coffee from Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express.  I'm sure it won't surprise you to hear I ate them all.  And I was even hungry again almost right after.  Well that was my journey through the Tinkerbell 10K!  Hope you enjoyed it!

ellagee Electrosynthomagnetic

I saved this ellagee polish for last.  Why you ask?  Because this particular polish takes it's inspiration from one of my all time favorite things about Disneyland.  Electrosynthomagnetic is a nod to the Electric Light Parade.  One of the best parades EVER.  I remember being at Disneyland as a kid and my family would find seats along a Main Street curb as it was getting dark. Once it was fully nighttime the electronic music would start and floats lit up in hundreds, thousands of rainbow colored lights would parade down Main Street.  The music was fun, the floats were funny.  I wish this parade were still around because I think my kids would enjoy it as much as I did when I was their age.  Ah memories.

I recently reviewed other polishes from the ellagee World of Laughter collection.  You can see Welcome, Foolish Mortals here and the Birds Sing Words here.  You can follow ellagee on Facebook and Instagram (ellageepolish) and can purchase her creations at www.ellagee.com.

So here's Electrosynthomagnetic.  (I honestly can't even look at this polish without hearing the parade music in my head).  It's " a clear base with black, red, orange, gold, green, blue, purple, gold holographic, and silver holographic hexagon glitters."  The perfect polish to layer over a zillion different colors!  I chose to layer it over 2 coats of China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard, a shimmery neon green.  It's it fun?  I love it.  Electrosynthomagnetic was another great formula.  I used 2 coats and the glitter was suspended well in the base, the glitters came out easily and spread well on my nails.  No stray or bumpy glitters, and 1 layer of topcoat to gloss it up.

And again like The Birds Sing Words, I couldn't just layer Electosynthomagnetic over one polish, I had to try it over 2.  I picked Color Club Beyond for my second run.  It's a black linear holo and it was a great base color for a polish that was inspired by night time party fun.  You can see more of the rainbow colored glitters in this combo.  I used 2 coats of Beyond, 1 coat of Electrosynthimagnetic and 1 layer of topcoat.  So which was your favorite combo?  These 2 are a tie for me.

*this polish was provided for my honest opinion and review

Here's a link to the Electric Light Parade on Main Street Disneyland.  It's a long-ish video, but if you watch the fist minute or two you will see the parade, lights and the inspiration to the polish.  Take a gander and enjoy the song!
