KBShimmer Fall Collection 2014 (partial review & press release)

Good morning all!  I've got a partial review of a fabulous Fall Collection from KBShimmer to share with you today.  The Fall Collection is made up of 6 lovely and fresh Fall colors, in a variety of finishes - cremes, holos and a glitter topper!  Actually Christy mentioned that there will be a few more polishes coming out with this collection.  Be sure to follow KBShimmer on Facebook for more details about this launch!  The Fall Collection has a tentative release date of September 1st.

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Up first I have on Up & Cunning, a deep teal linear holo.  Wow, what a gorgeous color!  I am totally swooning over Up & Cunning.  The formula on this was really nice.  It was sheer on the first coat but built up beautifully and to full opacity in 3 coats.  I did not use topcoat.

Next is How You Dune?, a greige cream.  This is a perfect neutral color to match all your cozy Fall sweaters and tall boots.  How You Dune? is also a perfect palette cleanser after all the summer brights that were popular this summer.  How You Dune? had a super creamy formula and applied like a dream.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

Finally I have Kiss & Spell, a star themed Halloween glitter topper.  Oh my gosh this makes me so excited I want Halloween polishes to come out already!  Kiss & Spell is loaded with glitter, it comes out easily and spread well on my nails.  I love all the fun colored stars!  I used 2 coats of Kiss & Spell, a little dabbing and 1 layer of topcoat.

Stonewashed is a dusty navy cream that will reach full opacity in 1-2 coats.

Rust No One is a rusty orange linear holographic polish.  It reaches full opacity in 2-3 coats.  I'm drooling over how pretty this one is!

Hugs & Wishes is a lavender cream that reached full opacity in 2 coats.

Lumina Lacquer Homesick At Space Camp & Mickey's Moonlit Masquerade

Good morning!  Just wanted to pop in with a quickie post before I head out on my run and daily errands!  You know I love Lumina Lacquer and I had been searching high and low for this beauty - Homesick At Space Camp.  Well someone finally took pity on me and answered my call!  Man oh man am I over the moon happy that I have this.  Let's head over to the pictures to take a look, mmmmkay?

Lumina Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

Homesick At Space Camp was a limited edition polish put out around last summer (my timeline could be totally wrong here).  I remember when it was released but I was so obsessed with glitters at the time that I paid it no mind.  Boy what a mistake.  Over time I have come to realize that solid/holos from Lumina are absolutely amazing.  I will not pass them up ever again.  Homesick At Space Camp is an amazing bright cobalt blue with a tight scattered holo.  The formula and application were both fantastic!  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  I also have on Lumina Lacquer Mickey's Moonlit Masquerade on my accent nails.  This was an LE put out around Halloween last year and it's a fun blend of glitter shapes in white, slier, purple, and blue.  The white stars and moons are especially adorable (and darn it no mouse head glitters wanted to come out this time).  I used 2 coats of Mickey's Moonlit Masquerade over 2 coats of Sheswai Totally (a plummy berry creme) and the application/formula on both of those were great.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Glam Polish Evanora, Aquanaut & Graveyard Smash

Good afternoon dears!  I'm getting in a bunch of reviews right before Thanksgiving so I hope you don't mind my over-posting!  But let's get real here...we are nail polish addicts, are there ever enough polish pictures to look at in a day?  Yeah, that's what I figured too!  So this afternoon I have some new Glam Polish to show you.  I have reviewed Glam Polish before but I have to say that these 3 are hands down my favorites (so far).  You can see some of my other posts HERE and HERE.  Glam Polish is an Australian Indie brand so unless you live in Oz you can't easily order them.  Lucky for you there is an awesome gal named Sisi who runs Color4Nails.  She is a US stockist for Glam Polish!  All of the polish I have in this post, along with many other Glam selections are currently available!  Follow this LINK to shop at Color4Nails.  You can also follow Color4Nails on Facebook and Instagram (color4nails).

Up first is my favorite of the group.  Evanora is described as an "emerald green holographic base packed full of green and turquoise glitter."  Evanora is from The Touch of Magic Trio and if the other 2 are anything like this I need them NOW!  Evanora had a base that was slightly jellyish but had full coverage in 3 coats.  The formula was amazing and the application was perfection.  I used 1 layer of topcoat to keep it shiny and glossy.  Just trust me when I say you need this.

This is Aquanaut.  Aquanaut is a really lovely glitter topper that's made up of "multiple sizes of neon pink, lilac and aqua matte glitter with aqua stars and butterflies."  I don't completely agree with this description as I didn't see any aqua in my bottle.  My bottle consisted of matte grey, hot pink and lilac glitters but I still think it was quite lovely.  I was fully impressed with the glitter density in this polish.  Each nail shows exactly what came out of the bottle on the brush.  No fishing or swirling required.  Just a ton of glitter.  The stars and butterflies were plentiful and spread out easily on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Aquanaut over 2 coats of a-England Fated Prince.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Finally I have Graveyard Smash (yup, it's Halloween year round on this blog).  This is from the Graveyard Ghouls Trio.  It's a "clear base packed full of different sizes and shapes of hot orange, emerald and black, matte and metallic glitter."  I liked the color combination in this mix but I'd like to try it over another base color.  The glitter payoff and application were both great.  I started the mani with 2 coats of Models Own Purple Blue.  I then used 2 coats of Graveyard Smash and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Halloween Eyes Mani

I always feel like...somebody's watching meeeeee!  In this case my acent nails are watching me...and I have no privacy, ooooooh!  Here's my second Halloween mani!  I am actually wearing this one today.  Yes, it's juvenile and I smeared an eyeball...but I'm pretty horrible at art and it was my first time trying to make eyeballs.  So I like how it turned out anyways.  It was sparkly and fun!

Here's what I have on!  Thumb, index and middle all got 2 coats of LA Girl Electric Coral.  Am orange scattered holo with a jelly like finish.  Really beautiful color that is much more orange than my pictures are showing.  The formula was beautiful and so easy to use.  I drew black stripes on my index with Orly Liquid Vinyl (yeah shaky hands, but I was tired, it was late and I didn't feel like digging around for my tape).  On my ring and pinky nails I have 2 coats of Nerd Lacquer HOCCHHH KSSSHHHHH (named after the sound Darth Vader makes when he breathes).  HK is a super pretty black glitter polish that is so full of glitter you don't even need a base for it.  Holo hexs, super fine microglitter, black glitters...it built up great!  It actually has a textured type feel to it, thought I know that's not what it's meant to be.  Use a thick layer or 2 of topcoat or Gelous to smooth it out.  I then used a dotting tool to make eyeballs on my ring finger.  Done!  Easy, cute, and even y 2 year old daughter looked at my nails and knew they were "Halloween!"

Lumina Lacquer Peculiar Pumpkin Posse

Good morning ghosts and ghouls!  Happy Halloween!  I have 2 Halloween manis to share with you today and this it the first one!  A lovely polish created by Tatiana over at Lumina Lacquer.  I love my Luminas!  They are always packed full of glitter, sparkly and beautiful.  This particular Lumina definitely fits that bill!  If you are interested in Lumina Lacquer you can purchase polish HERE, and can follow on Facebook and Instagram (luminalacquer).  You definitely want to follow the Instagram account - that's where sneak previews of new colors pop up all the time!

Peculiar Pumpkin Posse is awesome.  It's a glitter bomb full of orange, black, holo and the darkest teal glitters.  It's got hexs, diamonds, moons, microglitter and black HOLO pumpkins!!!  I think there are orange holo pumpkins too but none wanted to come out and play.  I did get some black holo pumpkins out (minimal fishing required as Luminas are so full of glitter you always get something exciting on your brush) and they are super awesome!  The formula was great - so much glitter came out and it all spread nicely on my nails for full coverage!  I used 2 coats of PPP over a gradient of Orly Liquid Vinyl (black creme) and LA Girl 3D Silver (scattered silver holo).  My accent nail is 3 coats of 3D Silver alone.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat and viola!  Blingy Halloween nails!

*Pecuilar Pumpkin Posse was a Halloween exclusive and is no longer available
