Earth Day Skittlette (a day late and a buck short)

Yeah, Earth Day was yesterday but I went out to lunch with my mom and then shopping for a little belated birthday celebrating.  And then if you can believe it, I put my boys to bed then layed down with Naomi and passed out at 8:00.  No joke.  So I didn't get around to posting my Earth Day mani yesterday.  But here they are in their full green glory!  Let's take a look.

Different Dimension: Shop, Llarowe, Facebook, Instagram,
Rimmel London: Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

I started this mani off with Enchanted Polish March 2014.  Whoa I'm loving this polish!  March 2014 sits somewhere between lime and olive.  It is an uber linear holo!  It's amazingly pretty! It's kind of a metallic finish holo.  As I'm sitting here on my couch I can see turquoise and gold sparkles shining inside the holo.  I used 2 coats for full coverage, but if you are a heavy handed painter 1 coat should do it!  Formula and application were both flawless!  I then did my accent and thumb nails with Different Dimension Money.  Money is a milky based polish that's full of turquoise, green black and silver circles, tiny gold squares, yellow hexs and holo green micro glitter.  It's the perfect blend of colors for Earth Day!  Formula and application were both great.  The milky base was easy to work with and built up to full coverage in 3 layers.  Plenty of glitter came out with no fishing needed.  Finally I used Rimmel London Sweetie Crush in Fizzy Appleicious.  Fizzy Appleicious is a very soft, pastel green texture polish.  It was actually lighter than I expected from the display pictures, but it's grown on my and it's perfect for the pastel craze that always comes around this time of year.  It applied very thin so I used 3 coats to build it up.  The formula was easy to work with.  I finished all nails (except the texture nails) with 1 layer of topcoat.

Different Dimension: Hey You, Money & Reach For the Sky

Hi lovelies!  A new morning, a new brand of polish to review.  Well not brand new, but new to me.  Different Dimension has been around for a while now and offers many lovely polishes in a bevy of finishes.  I'm a particular fan of the holographics and circle glitter polishes.  The polish I have to share with you today is from Llarowe.  There is quite a large selection of Different Dimension as well as other US and International indie brands there.  You can shop at llarowe.com, follow on Facebook and Instagram (llarowe).  Different Dimension also has a Facebook and Instagram (missibarry).

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Up first I have Hey You from the Echoes collection inspired by Pink Floyd.  Missi, the maker of Different Dimension describes Hey You as "a creamy lavender crelly base with purple glitters in a variety of shapes and sizes."  I used 3 coats of Hey You and found that it built up nicely.  You can see that there is only the slightest visible nail line.  If VNL bothers you I'd suggest starting with a similar purple color to start with and then 1 coat of Hey You.  The formula and application were both nice and easy to work with.  I did not use topcoat.

Money is another polish from the Pink Floyd Echoes collection.  This was actually my favorite of the 3 reviewed in this post.  I really liked the "white creme/jelly base with neon green, neon yellow, gold, black and blue glitters in a variety of shapes and sizes."  I especially like all the circle glitters.  The circles came out easily and laid flat on my nails.  Again I used 3 coats of Money, but this one was more sheer than Hey You.  Formula and application were nice and smooth with no issues to bring up.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lastly I have Reach For The Sky.  This one is inspired by a popular cartoon with a certain lovable cowboy doll (you know who I'm talking about partner).  Can't you just see his western shirt in the polish?  Such a cute polish.  Reach for the Sky is a sheer yellow base with red and gold glitters and iridescent flakes.  I included a shade macro so you can really see those pretty iridescent flakes better.  I found the formula on RFtS to be a little thick but it wasn't difficult to work with.  Just be sure to get the polish to cover your entire nail so there isn't a "wall" type of build up by any of the edges.  It's also a little sheer so even after 3 coats you can still see a little nail line.  I finished this with 1 layer of topcoat.
