Parallax Polish Stat-ick-tics Collection

Afternoon y'all!  Hope you are enjoying your Friday evening!  I am going over to a friends house for a huge mom get together/jewelry party.  There will be wine and snacks and laughs and money spent.  After this week I could definitely use it.  Before I get myself all dolled up I wanted to share a new collection from Parallax Polish.  Due to a move and settling in to new jobs Parallax Polish has been quiet on the nail polish scene.  But I am happy to announce that she's back with gusto!  Stat-ick-tics was inspired by events that occurred in Erin's area of research (statistics) and the class she teaches.  Power, alpha and beta are all things her class deals with, including trials and errors to come up with the correct answers for research projects.  The new Stat-ick-tics Collection is pretty awesome and full of Fall perfection.  This collection will be available soon so keep your eyes open for an announcement on the Facebook page.  Now let's jump in and check out the polish!

Parallax Polish Brain Scan Collection

Lucky yous!  You get 2 posts tonight!  I really wanted to share this one as quickly as possible today but life kept me busy.  I actually wish I could share a picture with you so you could see that i have my laptop wi-fi tethered to my iPhone and am sitting in the parking lot at my eldest son's soccer practice. Hey, a bloggers gotta do what a bloggers gotta do!  So this post is to share the newest collection form Parallax Polish called the Brain Scan collection!  There are 7 polishes in this collection and each are available in 3 finishes: matte, scattered holo or soft linear holo.  Erin did a jumble bag and sent a mixture of colors and finishes out and I was very happy with the colors and finishes in my package.  I'm also looking forward to seeing what other bloggers received!  I will note that one of the matte finish polishes I received, Brocas, was having pigment dissolving and drying issues (you can see Erin's post on it HERE) so I am only showing you 6 of the 7 colors.  The Brain Scan collection will be available tomorrow, 8/29!  Make sure to follow Parallax Polish on Facebook and Instagram for ht exact time and price of the collection.  Now let's look at polish!

Up first is one of my favorites from the collection, On-Off Cells.  This is a soft lime green bordering on yellow with a subtle linear holo effect.  It reminds me of Mountain Dew a little, but an almost pastel version of it.  The color is both wearable and fun!  The formula and application were both great.  On-Off Cells was very easy to apply and covered perfectly in 2 coats.  No topcoat used.

Corpus Callosum is a vibrant lime green with a scattered holo finish.  It's a great color that isn't neon but it's definitely bright.  The scattered holo finish is very light, not an in your face holo twinkle.  I do wish it were more prominent but I still quite enjoy the finish.  The formula of Corpus Callosum was a bit more sheer than the last so I used 3 coats to built it up to full coverage.  No topcoat used.

Well hello pink!  This is Amygdala; a creamy, deep pink, subtle linear holo.  She's a real beauty!  Again, I am getting pastel vibe from this holo and I totally dig it.  The shade of pink is perfection...I like that it's just slightly darker and not neon.  Formula and applicant of Amygdala were both fantastic.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

Leaning a bit more to the purple side of the rainbow is Hippocampus.  This is actually more of a radiant orchid shade of purple with a scattered holo finish.  Nothing to report about the formula or application here.  Everything was superb.  Though as mentioned in Corpus Callosum, I wish the holo were a bit more holo.  I used 2 coats of Hippocampus for full coverage and no topcoat.

Nystagmus was my other favorite in the group I received.  Sure I have loads of silver holos, but I don't have a silver holo like this!  Nystagmus is a very soft shade of silver with a subtle linear holo.  I  don't know how it's possible but this is a pastel silver.  The formula was uber creamy and covered so nicely.  Application was perfect in 2 coats.  No topcoat needed.

And the 6th polish I have to share and the only matte from my group (aside from Brocas which I mentioned way up there in the beginning) is Fusiform Gyrus.  This is a neon orange matte finish polish.  It's pretty awesome.  My photos are making it a bit darker than it actually is because it's really so vibrant and bright my camera was like "oh hellz no."  The formula and application were both really fantastic.  I do wish Fusiform Gyrus was a bit more matte though - I feel that it's more a rubber finish.  Regardless it's pretty freaking cool!  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

Up first I have Louisiana State University, Choppin.  This is a "deep purple polish with gold sparks."  This is a very pretty color, and I like that the shimmery pieces add interest.  The formula and application were both stellar.  I used 3 coats of Choppin for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

Next up is Morgan,  "true blue polish with chome sparkle" to represent Kentucky.  Morgan is another fabulous color - borderline neon and full of silvery shimmer.  This color is going to be awesome for fingers and toes on super hot summer days at the pool.  Formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 3 coats of Morgan and 1 layer of topcoat.

Representing Texas A&M is Halbouty, a "maroon polish with chrome shimmer."  Whoa, this color is stunning!  The shimmer actually gives Halbouty a pink glow.   Again, awesome formula and application.  I used 3 coats of Halbouty and 1 layer of topcoat.

Now we've got Bryant from Florida.  This is a "navy blue polish with an orange shimmer."  Ok the orange shimmer here slays me!   The formula of Bryant was on the jelly side but it built up nicely in 3 coats.  I wish I would have used topcoat here but to my naked eye the polish looked shinier on it's own.  I think topcoat will really make that orange shimmer pop even more.

Tennessee is represented by McClung, "a bright orange polish with white glitters."  This was the most fun in the collection for me.  The orange is so vibrant and the tiny white glitters stand out really well against the base color.  It also reminds me of a pond mani because with each layer some of the glitters gets sandwiched between color and some sits on top.  The formula and application are both great.  I used 3 coats of McClung and 1 layer of topcoat.

SCEN from Arkansas is a shimmery pink jelly full of white glitters.  The shapes in this polish make me happy.  I also really like the color.  I'd suggest turning the bottle upside down for a few minutes then giving it a good shake to get the larger glitters to come out of the bottle.  Other than that tip the formula and application were easy enough.  I used 3 coats of SCEN and a layer of topcoat.

Last but not least is McAlester from Missouri.  This is a "black polish with small and large gold holographic glitters."  This was my favorite.  It's so pretty and the gold holo again the black is gorgeous!  There's also some holo shimmer in there so the base isn't flat.  McAlester is very opaque and richly pigmented.  It applied like a dream.  I used 2 coats of McAlester and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Erin has also been a busy bee making polish jewelry!  Look how beautiful this pendant is!  It's colorful and bright AND HOLO!  It's the perfect pendant to wear on a bright summer day!  I used my daughter as a model and she was acting goofy so sorry there weren't any super close up pictures of the pendant on her..  But she loved the colors of the pendant and couldn't stop gazing at it.  You can buy jewelry HERE.
