Morgan Taylor Honky Tonk Honeys, Fall 2015

Good morning lovelies!  The weather is finally cooling off and it feels like Fall!  I hope it sticks around this time and the heat doesn't come back with a vengeance like it did last week.  So it's hump day and it's one of my busier "taxi mom" days.  I'll need to dig deep to find the energy to get through it, or plan to take at least one quick nap.  I'll be starting my morning with a hike but I also wanted to share a beautiful Fall collection with you.  I recently posted the upcoming collections from Morgan Taylor that I heard about when I visited their booth at CosmoProf North America (you can see that post HERE).  Well today I have the Honky Tonk Honeys, a 4-piece collection of mini bottles from their Urban Cowgirl collection.  If you head over to the Morgan Taylor website you can pick up this set for the sale price of $15!  Now kick up your cowgirl boots and let's talk polish!

Up first I have the only shimmer/frost shade in the Honky Tonk Honeys collection.  Tex'as Me Later is a mauve colored polish with a heavy had of shimmer that gives it a frosty finish.  I'll admit that this was my least favorite of the collection.  The color and finish just didn't do it for me.  The formula and application on this one was ok, I'd recommend not overworking the polish while applying to reduce the amount of brush strokes.  I used 2 coats of Tex'as Me Later and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Ok now we're talking!  The rest of the Honky Tonk Honeys set are these totally amazing cremes!  This is A Touch Of Sass, a deep red creme.  I was totally in lust with the formula and application of this polish; opaque and creamy and so gorgeous.  I used 2 coats of A Touch Of Sass for full coverage but you could easily get away with one.  No topcoat used.

Plum Tuckered Out is a stunning dark, plummy-purple creme.  I looooooove this color!  The formula and application were both perfect.  Opaque, creamy, so easy to apply.  I used 2 coats of Plum Tuckered Out and no topcoat.

Pumps Or Cowboy Boots?, the last polish in the 4-piece set, is a dark chocolate brown creme.  Wow, this is such an awesome brown polish!  Pumps Or Cowboy Boots? is definitely my favorite color in this set.  The formula and application were both top notch.  I used 2 coats of Pumps Or Cowboy Boots? and no topcoat.

Sweet Heart Polish: Winter Frost, Fresh Start & Rockin' NYE

Hullo out there in Internet land.  Hope you had a lovely Tuesday morning.  I am...the kids are back in school and I'm cleaning the house (= doing laundry and dishes and putting away toys and soccer gear) and also got in a great 5 mile run.  I'm also spending alot of time joining facebook groups that focus on local runs and Disney race groups.  So I guess that could be considered my resolution for the year - run more than I already do (even though I don't really believe in making resolutions).  I'm actually even considering starting a running blog!  Did you make any resolutions this year?  Well aside from what I already told you I am doing, I am also working on a few posts to share.  I have this one ready for you today and it's some very lovely new-ish polishes from Sweet Heart Polish!  This brand has been kicking butt and taking names with new colors and collections!  I think I like each polish more than the last!  The 3 polishes in this post are a perfect example of how Cassandra has really turned it up a notch - both in how beautiful these are and that they have that little something that makes them unique!  Winter Frost, Fresh Start and Rockin' NYE are all available in the shop for $9-$10 each.  So let's jump on in and check these beauts out!

I also wanted to share with you that Sweet Heart Polish will be part of a new US holo indie box - the Addicted To Holos Indie Polish Box.  There are 4 other brands in each box Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer, The Polish Bar, Philly Loves Lacquer and Literary Lacquers - that makes 5 polishes per box.  There is a limited amount of boxes at each release and the first will be available in February.  Please go like the facebook page so you can keep up to date!

Let's start with my favorite of the 3 this time...Rockin' NYE.  This is a fabulously blingy "mix of silver and rainbow holographic glitter in a clear base."  I love polish like this.  It's effortless, beautiful and attention catching.  The glitter/micro glitter bend can be worn alone in 2-3 coats or 1-2 coats over a base color (depending on the glitter density you prefer).  I actually used Fresh Start as a base and used 2 coats of Rockin' NYE on top!  It helped keep the silvery color prominent.  The rainbow glitters really pop too!  The formula and application were both aces!  If you are on the hunt for a super sparkly holo glitter than you will love Rockin' NYE!  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Winter Frost is such a beautiful blue holo.  But it's more than just a holo!  It has these fantastic tiny holo squares in it that really add to the polishes personality!  Winter Frost is officially described as a " frosty blue linear holographic with a dusting of holographic glitter."  It reminds me of the move Frozen.  Just like any other Sweet Heart Polish I have tried, the formula and application were both wonderful.  The first coat of Winter Frost is a little sheer, but as you can see it builds up perfectly!  I used 3 coats of Winter Frost for full coverage and no topcoat.

And finally we have Fresh Start, a "frosty white linear holographic polish with a dusting of holographic glitters and rainbow shimmer."  This is such a lovely, "fresh" polish!  The holographic glitters flash beautiful rainbow colors throughout the polish making it look like sparkly snow.  Fresh Start was also a little sheer but it does build up to almost complete coverage, you can still see just a bit of visible nail line.  If that bothers you I'd suggest starting with a white base.  Formula and application of Fresh Start were both lovely - no issues to bring up.  I used 3 coats of Fresh Start and no topcoat.
