Cupcake Polish Hot Chicks & Bunny Butts

Ugh Monday, why you so awful?  I wish the weekend were longer but then we'd all just hate poor Tuesday.  And what did Tuesday ever do to us?  Well I am actually resting up this week for race day on Saturday.  It's nothing major, but I do want to be able to run it without any leg pain since I'm nursing shin splints right now.  Now in April not only did I run an insane amount of miles, I also bought a crap ton of polish.  Today's post features 2 of those purchases.  Last month Cupcake Polish had some mystery polishes available for Easter and since I just couldn't decide which to buy I got all 3.  Totally glad I did because they are all gorgeous.  It was also a cute touch that they all came in Easter eggs so it felt like a little revealing party when I opened each one.  While these particular polishes aren't available there are many others that are, including the new In Bloom collection (see my post HERE)!  Alright - let's check these 2 polishes out, shall we?

*nothing to disclose*

As I'd said before, these 2 polishes were mystery polishes.  I bought them blindly, having no clue what I was going to get.  I opened the eggs and was excited with each one.  My favorite was Hot Chicks though.  Hot Chicks is a beautiful rose-pink holo full of ultra chrome flakies.  So pretty!  I totally dig the combo here.  I did find the formula a touch thick, but is wasn't difficult to manage.  I used 2 coats of Hot Chicks and no topcoat.

My accent nail is Bunny Butts.  Cute name as it gives me a mental image of adorable, fluffy baby bunny tails.  This is a deep lilac, scattered holo.  Another gorgeous polish and a really beautiful color.  The formula and application were both perfect.  I used 2 coats of Bunny Butts and no topcoat.

Elevation Polish Ortler from the Italian Collection

Good evening!  Well as summer winds down and there are only 2 weeks left before school I will be a little scattered with the timing of my posts.  I have a short bucket list to get through with my kids.  But I am excited for the fun things I have planned with them as well as the gorgeous polishes I have coming up to share with you.  Let's start with a polish that will be available on the 7th of this month from Elevation Polish.  I picked this beauty up from a CosmoProf after party and whoa - I was weak in the knees!  Lulu has a pretty huge and dedicated fan base and these girls were chomping at the bit for some pink EvP's...Lulu delivered!  Ortler is part of the upcoming Italian Collection and will be available on 8/7 at 9pm Central for $9.00.  Let's take a look at this soon to be released beauty!

Ortler is a pink "low density" holographic polish. This is a really unique shade of pink (that seems to lean magenta) and I'm pretty sure I have nothing like it in my personal stash!  It's a gorgeous color, and the formula was fantastic.  Ortler is very creamy and opaque.  The application was smooth and easy to work with.  I used 2 coats of Ortler and no topcoat.

Aly's Dream Polish Pinkberry (Dazzled March Holo Grail Box)

Hello there friends!  I've been working my boo-tay off all day cleaning house and preparing food for a big Memorial Day BBQ tomorrow.  Do you have any plans for tomorrow?  With all the chores I've been doing I'm coming at'cha with a short evening post featuring a very pretty pink holo from the Dazzled March Holo Grail Box.  Aly's Dream Polish is a brand I hadn't tried before but I was very happy with both the formula and application.  I enjoyed the unique color and always love me some pink holo!  My pictures are in the direct sunshine.  Pinkberry is a very bright, borderline neon pink, tight scattered holo with gold and fuchsia shimmer.  Formula and application were both great, no issues to report.  I used 3 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Uber Girly mani with Lumina Lacquer All Tied Up, Color Club Miss Bliss and Zoya Trixie

Morning *singsong voice*!  I've been doing alot of winter and blue manis.  Well I needed a change.  So I slapped a super girly, pink mani on and I am loving it!  It's nice to change things up don't you think?  Well this is has a very princess feel and I actually got alot of compliments on it!  I used Lumina Lacquer, Essie, Color Club and Zoya to create this skittlette.

Lumina Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram
Color Club: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

I started with 2 coats of Essie Marshmallow, a sheer, jelly white polish.  I used it on my index and middle fingers.  I topped Essie Marshmallow with Lumina Lacquer All Tied Up.  I adore this polish!  It's so girly but a glitter polish you could wear year round.  It's full of pink and silver glitter in hexs, circles and bows!  That's right - BOWS!  Satin white, satin pink, metallic fuchsia and holo silver!  This polish had a great formula with very easy application.  Plenty of bows and large holo circles came out without any fishing and all the glitter laid flat on my nails.  I applied 2 coats of All Tied Up.  I used Color Club Miss Bliss on my ring and pinky nails.  Whoa the bright rose pink holo is amazing!  One of the strongest and brightest linear holos I've used.  Another great formula here.  I used 2 coats of Miss Bliss for complete coverage.  Finally I used Zoya Trixie, a metallic silver polish on my thumb as a fun accent to tie in all the colors used in this mani.  Trixie had a lovely formula with a beautiful finish.  I used 2 coats of Trixie.  I added a silver bow charm to accent my ring finger nail using a small dab of nail glue.  I only used topcoat on my glitter nails.

*I apologize for no macros, I thought I had transferred them and it turns out I didn't...and then I deleted them all before I realized my mistake.  Sad panda.

Literary Lacquers Literary Liquors Collection (4/6)

Good evening polish friends. Let's sit down by the fire pit and enjoy a cocktail together.  We can discuss our day, the weather, fashion and we can get polish wasted on Literary Liquors!  I'm sure you have seen this collection already, it was released a couple weeks back, but here's my swatches and review of this phenomenal collection.  Amy, the maker of Literary Lacquers was inspired by "the many cocktails found in literature, from the fictional to the futuristic, to the classic." *paraphrased by me*  Literary Liquors consists of 6 polishes with a variety of finishes, holo, shimmer, glitter and they are all fabulous.  I am happy to share 4 of them with you tonight.  So grab a comfy chair, pour yourself a glass of your preferred adult beverage and enjoy the pictures.  You can follow Literary Lacquers on Facebook for updates, giveaways, flash sales and sneak peeks of new polish in the works.  You can purchase Literary Lacquers on Etsy.

Inspired by Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Strawberry Ice Cream Soma is a drink used to induce a feeling of euphoria to take a break from reality.  I personally haven't read the book, but I have to say Amy's description makes me want to check it out.  Strawberry Ice Cream Soma is a gorgeous soft pink holo that as Amy states, is one of her "office-holos."  I used 3 coats for full coverage with no issues to report. Lovely formula, wonderful application.  1 layer of topcoat and the holo was not effected.

Here we have Dandelion Wine, inspired by the book of the same name by Ray Bradbury.  Described as "summer in a bottle" I have to say I sure wish I had a glass now, I will miss Summer now that Fall is on our heels.  And despite it being a "summer drink" I think it will be an amazing color to wear in the Fall!  Dandelion Wine is a gorgeous mustardy yellow holo with orange/gold and pink flecks.  It's stunning!  I used 3 layers of Dandelion Wine with no problems to mention.  Another amazing formula with perfect application.  I used 1 layer of topcoat and the holo was not effected.

This lovely fellow is Jack Rose.  Inspired by The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, Amy describes Jack Rose as a "coppery, caramel colored strong linear holo."  This falls into the category of colors that I absolutely adore, like can't resist-it's so gorgeous-I must have it now kind of adore.  Fall colors are my weakness.  The drink sounds pretty fabulous too, here's the recipe if you ever want to try it!  Jack Rose is a very sheer polish.  I ended up using 4 coats for almost full coverage.  I have short nails and I have a little visible nail line.  If your nails are long you might want a coordinating base color.  Aside from the sheerness, there are no issues to discuss in regards to application or formula.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat and the holo was not effected.

Lastly I have I'm Drinking Stars.  I love it.  I'm a huge fan of this color.  It's a "champagne nude strong linear holo."  I'm Drinking Stars was inspired by Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins - of course in reference to a champagne drink.  I'm all for any drink with champagne in it.  My favorite is literally the cheapest sweet wine you can get, Asti Spumante.  So sweet, so bubbly, so yummy.  Amy mentions this one is also sheer and I again used 4 coats.  I wore this alone, but you can wear it over an array of colors to give any polish a holo effect.  No formula or application problems to mention.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat and the holo was not effected.
