Festive Nails for Family Picture Day

Hey hey again!  One more post tonight.  I'm out on the town this evening for a double date of dinner and drinks, wearing my not-so-ugly Christmas Reindeer sweater.  I thought I'd found a good ugly sweater to wear out but I really thought it was pretty darn cute.  Well all my friends said was cute too so there we have it.  Not-so-ugly.  Anyways, I wore a very cute sweater for my annual family picture day and these were the festive nails I did to match!  My kids wore red, the hubby and I wore black so I incorporated both in my nails.  And I hadn't done a nice accent nail in a while so I did just that!  Let's look!

*nothing to disclose*

I started with Smitten Polish Nose So Bright.  This is one of my favorite red holos EVER.  I will cry some seriously sad tears when this bottle is empty.  The formula and application of Nose So Bright are both perfection.  I used 2 coats of Nose So Bright and 1 layer of topcoat.

I then did an accent nail, starting with a plain back creme.  I sponged both Lumina Lacquer Soleil and Different Dimension Big Bang onto the end of my nail.  The blend of silver and gold uber holo micro glitters is just so luxurious.  I finished this off with 1 thick layer of topcoat.

And just because I thought you might be interested in seeing it...here's my not-so-ugly Christmas sweater.  I found it at the JCrew Factory store and after discounts I only paid $18 for it!  Steal!

Sweet Heart Polish Christmas Set: Red Suit & Fluffy Beard

Good morning!  I hope you are having a fabulously relaxing Thanksgiving morning and enjoying the ever popular Thanksgiving Day Parade!  I sadly am missing part (or most) of the parade because I am running in the local Turkey Trot 5K with my oldest son!  Hey, gotta get a little exercise in before the big feast!  So while you get to watch Santa bring in the Christmas season at the end of the parade I thought it would be fitting to share this new Sweet Heart Polish Christmas Duo that was released yesterday!  Inspired by the magical man himself - these are Red Suit and Fluffy Beard.  They are available now, together as a duo for $18 OR separately for $9/$10 each.  So let's take a look shall we?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Sweet Heart Polish Christmas Duo

Let's start with Red Suit because well, you know - red holo, my kryptonite, 'nuff said.  "Red Suit is a juicy red linear holographic polish with gold flakes."  It's gorgeous and had a stellar formula to boot!  I reached full opacity in 2 coats.  No topcoat used.

I then put Fluffy Beard over Red Suit because they truly are perfect together.  They literally SCREAM winter, Christmas, snow, eggnog.  "Fluffy Beard. is a frosty glitter topper with a mix of white and silver glitters and a splash of holographic and iridescent glitters."  My favorite part?  The tiny matte white start...squeeee!  The glitter payoff was perfect here, plenty of glitter and very easy to use.  No fishing required.  I have on 1 coat of Fluffy Beard and 1 layer of topcoat.

I also tried Fluffy Beard over black.  I like how over black you can see there are iridescent glitters in Fluffy Beard!  I used 2 coats and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Colors by Llarowe The Man in the Red Suit

Good evening!  The count down has begun...we are winding down for the night, having dinner and spending time together watching Christmas movies.  The kids are eagerly awaiting Santa's arrival!  I thought it would be fitting to share this beautiful red ho ho holo!  Let's look at at it shall we?

Colors by Llarowe: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

The Man in the Red Suit is a metallic red linear holo.  It takes on different colors depending on the lighting.  Indoors you can see more of a pink-berry shade.  In the sunshine you can see that it's clearly a true red color.  Both shades are pretty and I found that I'd frequently check out my nails to see which shade it appeared by moving my fingers around.  I especially loved the flare!  It was a very red-orange color with a teeny bit of purple in the middle.  So pretty.  Formula and application of The Man in the Red Suit were both fabulous.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

Christmas-y Mani with Wet n Wild Poison Ivy, Smitten Polish Zelda's Fall-ly & Lynnderella Season's Glitterings

Good morning!  I am really having fun with holiday colors and glitters lately, can you tell?!  Well today's post is a simple but very pretty mani.  Of course I used classic Christmas colors...green and red.  I needed some bling so I sprinkled a little glitter on a few nails.  I used Wet n Wild, Smitten Polish and Lynnderella.  Let's check out their links so we can talk about the polish and look at pretty pictures, mkay?

Wet n Wild: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
Smitten Polish: Shop, Facebook
Lynnderella: Shop, Facebook, Blog, Instagram, Twitter

First I used Wet n Wild Poison Ivy.  Yes I know it's from the 2012 Halloween collection but I adore this color!  Such a gorgeous deep hunter green with the same tone shimmer.  I used 2 coats on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  The formula on this polish is amazing.  The wide brush is excessively wide but I don't let it hinder my love for the color and formula.  Once dry I sponged Lynnderella Season's Glitterings.  Season's Glitterings is from the 2012 holiday collection and it's a fabulous glitter topper with "multiple shapes and sizes of silver, gold, green, blue, red, purple and pink holographic glitters."  Wow the holo goodness in this is amazing!  I sponged on 2 layers and really want to wear a full mani with SG after this little tester!  I then used Smitten Polish Zelda's Fall-ly on my ring and pinky nails.  Such a gorgeous linear red holo!  This is from the Turning Leaves Tree-O and is no longer available.  Application and formula of Zelda's Fall-ly are both amazing.  2 buttery coats for full coverage.  I used topcoat to finish this mani.
