New Years Eve Mani!

Big hoopla night for nail polish lovers around the world!  What kind of art, design, style or combination will we all wear?  I'm enjoying all the pictures posted on Facebook and Instagram!  Lots of bling, lots of sparkle!  As it should be!  I went for a multi colored glitter by Lynnderella called Pentimento.  It's a totally gorgeous mixture of shape and color and it reminded me of falling confetti.  I layered 2 coats of Pentimento over 2 layers of Color Club Cloud Nine, a soft purple linear holo.  Survey says?  They are a perfect pair!  Since I'm not at home and only brought topcoat (really needed my Gelous today), I had to use 3 layers of topcoat.

Big thanks to Michelle at Ehmkay Nails for sending me the awesome Color Club Halo Hue!!  I loves it!!

Feel free to post your NYE manis on my Facebook page!

Rapa Nui

I wore this Elevation Polish the other day and absolutely loved it!  I could not stop glancing at my nails to catch glimpses of that gorgeous red-purple shimmer!

Rapa Nui is a dusty blurple color, sometime looking blue, other times purple.  I love the color because it's not too bright, but not too dark - a perfect in between color that is great to wear anytime.  And then that shimmer, oh jeez!  It's amazing!!  I took pictures inside (because I am on a little trip and it was dark when I put this on), then I took a few pictures with flash to really show you the red-purpley shimmer.  I used 2 coats for perfectly perfect application!  Followed up with a layer of topcoat.

You can purchase Elevation Polish at the store here, and you can stay up to date with new product releases and sneak peaks at the blog I Dig Brown Nail Polish.

Bury Walk

I needed a break from glitter so I put on Nails Inc. Bury Walk.  This was a good decision.  Bury Walk is subtle and gorgeous.  I love shimmer, almost as much as I love iridescent glitter and flakies.  Bury Walk is a one of those greige colors - a color somewhere in between beige and grey.  It makes for a gorgeous neutral toned color that will be complimentary to so may outfits!  Aside from being a gorgeous base color there is a fan-freaking-tastic red and gold shimmer in there.  I really can't stop looking at my nails.  I also can't stop feeling my nails!  They are so smooth and glassy.  I used 2 coats of Bury Walk and 1 layer of top coat.

A big thanks to my friend Jo for swapping with me so I could get a few Nails Inc. polishes!

My Christmas Nails

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas (technically it's already the day after, but Merry Christmas anyways).  I also wanted to share my Christmas nails!  This is what I wore while shoveling food in my face and unwrapping presents!  So festive!

I used 2 coats of Catrice Virgin Forest, a very bright kelly green (trust me when I say the pictures do no justice to the brightness or the glittery bling on this mani combo).  I topped it off with 2 coats of CrowsToes Jingle Balls.  Jingle Balls is mostly green hexs, but there is also blue, red and gold and gold bars and stars.  Festive, right!?

Did you get any polish for Christmas?  I gave out quite a few bottles, mostly indie brands and all were oohed and aahed over.  Score for picking out perfect polishe gifts!

Flocked Nails

I tried out flocking.  Have you?  It is so weird, but fun too.  I felt like I had Muppet fingernails all day yesterday!

Quick details:  I used 2 coats of a Sally Hansen white (can't remember the name, sorry).  I then worked one nail at a time by using topcoat, then rolling my wet nail in a pile of flocking powder.  I used a dry finger to push the flocking powder down to make sure a good amount stayed on.  That's it!  I waited for them to fully dry and I then showed off my fuzzy nails.  They didn't last more than one day, but I was quite rough on them last night as I washed dishes, baked and cooked things for tonight, and folded laundry.

The flocking powder is from Michaels.  You will likely find it in the scrap booking section of the store.

Cyberspace + Mele Kalikimaka

More Christmas Eve spam…because I CAN!  I loved Mele Kalikimaka when I wore it over the pink Kiko holo (you can see the post HERE).  I love it even more over Cyberspace, the blue Milani holo.  Have you noticed a trend lately? Glitter bombs over holo?  I am in LOVE LOVE with the combination!  Perfection.  And that's exactly what I think about this combo.

Milani Cyberspace is a very lovely light blue scattered holo.  I used 3 coats of Cyberspace because it was quite sheer.  I have to admit, I always pass these babies up but I was highly impressed!  PS - I got this in a swap so I did not break my no buy getting it.

I topped it with 2 layers of Red Dog Designs Mele Kalikimaka.  Hello gorgeous.  As I said before in my previous MK post, packed full of kelly geen, pink, blue, and matte white glitters in different shapes and sizes.  And lots of holo shimmer.  It's a vacation in a bottle!

Just for fun I threw a couple snowflake glitters on top, which my friend from Jen's Nail Files sent me.  Thanks Jen!!  Upon her suggestion I slightly bent the snowflakes to get them to lay better on my curved nails.  They do stick up a bit, but it's still a fun little addition.  I used 2 thick layers of topcoat to seal it all in and shine it up!

Sea Lore Glacial Grayling

A little Christmas Eve spam for you today….

Here's Sea Lore Glacial Grayling.  Gorgeous dark gray polish with amazing iridescent flakes that flash great colors!  I saw pink, blue and green!  There is also tons of holo shimmer.  So beautiful!!  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  This baby was hungry so I used 2 thick layers of topcoat.  The first picture is very color inaccurate.

There is currently a BOGO going on (lasting through 1/6), head over to Sea Lore's Facebook page for details!

Chancer + Ruby Red Ruby

I recently received butter London Chancer as an early Christmas gift from one of my best friends.  Thanks Shanelle!!  The funny thing about that is I gave her Essie Lady Like, so we cracked up that they were nearly the same color!  Great minds, right?  So I wanted to do a fun and festive mani with Chancer and chose Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby to wear on my accent nail!  Hello perfect combination!!

I started with 2 coats of Chancer - a beautiful bright red with so much glitter half of my pictured didn't turn out because my camera couldn't focus on any one point.  The first coat went on sparsely - I think all the glitter made it kind of hard to spread on the nail.  But the second coat really made everything look amazing!  So 2 coats of Chancer for gorgeous red perfection.

Then I brought out one of the first Lynns I ever bought - Ruby Red Ruby.  I bought this back in the day when you emailed Lynn directly though her blog email address to place an order.  Ah, I remember the days!  RRR is a drop dead gorgeous true red glitter bomb.  Loads of glitter!  Tons came out with each brush dip and there were zero application problems.  I love how RRR really gave depth to Chancer.  I then topped off everything with a thick layer of topcoat.

It was a rainy day so some of these pictures are with my camera, some are with my phone.
