February 2019 Polish Pickup & Indie Pickup, Duos and Pairs

Good afternoon!  Next week brings us the February Polish Pickup!  I swear that came up on us so fast, I feel like I just swatched the January ones!  The theme for February is Duos and Pairs and that covers a lot of ground, I've seen food pairings, movies duos, celestial & lunar inspiration, cartoons...and it's really fun that many makers paired up for this month.  I'm going to lay this out like I did January, all in one post so they are easy to find.  I will share pertinent maker info in each section.  The February Polish Pickup will be open from 2/1 - 2/4.  Now let's jump in!

Up first I have Alter Ego!  Cynthia has a polish in PPU and an oil in IPU.  They pair together as her theme is Fire and Ice.  The polish is the fire, Fight Fire With Fire.  It's a burnt orange with copper shimmer.  It looks dark yellow in some lighting.  Lovely polish and a great shade.  I do wish it were a little more opaque as I have some visible nail line after 3 coats.  Fight Fire With Fire will be $8.50, no cap.

And here's the ice!  It's a Beard Oil with the nicest peppermint scent.  I'd asked my man if I could try this out on his beard.  Well, January rolled around and he decided to shave his beard so now he's just got stubble - not worth putting beard oil on.  Darn him.  So I tried this out on my cuticles instead, which is totally fine as it is a great oil.  I'd say you can put this on any dry spot in need of some love, why not!  Plus you'll smell all pepperminty and it's fabulous.  Anyways, it's loaded with great ingredients like vitamin a, vitamin e, tea tree oil, and so much more!  I thought the oil has a nice viscosity, soaked in well after a few minutes.  And I absolutely loved the peppermint scent.  The Beard Oil will be $7.50, no cap.

Dreamland Lacquer is giving us a real treat with an amazing thermal!  This is Good Vibes, it's a beautiful polish that is pink when warm and purple when cool, and packed full of pinky-red flakies and aurora shimmer.  It was inspired by the logo of Grace and Frankie's sex toy company. Can't say I have any idea what this is in reference to but I do know it's absolutely STUNNING!  Noelie has been slaying thermals right now!  I used 3 thin coats for full coverage and finished with topcoat.  No issues with formula or application.  Good Vibes will be $12, no cap.

If you know Pam from Stella Chroma at all, you know she is a huge Harry Potter fan.  Just go take a look at her first few collections, all HP inspired!  Well she paired up with another HP fan (Karen from Lollipop) and they picked the unbeatable duo of Luna Lovegood and Nargles.  Stella Chroma brings us I Suspect Nargles.  First off, Nargles are mystical creatures that live in mistletoe and may or may not be responsible for hiding all of Luna's shoes.  I Suspect Nargles is an ultra holo silver polish with green, blue/purple shimmer.  Love the rainbow on my nails with this one!  Fabulous formula, flawless application.  2 coats for full coverage and topcoat to finish.  I Suspect Nargles is $13, no cap.

And the other half of the Luna/Nargles duo is A Distinct Aura of Dottiness from Lollipop Posse Lacquer.  This polish is a good representation of Luna, as she seems a bit whimsical and flighty though she's also complex and funky!  The polish itself is a soft blue bae with peachy/green shifting aurora shimmer, holo micro flakes and color shifting iridescent flakes.  No problems with formula or application, everything was splendid.  A Distinct Aura of Dottiness will be $13 with no cap.

Ok this next duo had me rolling!  It's a pair up of KBShimmer and CbL and they picked Snoop and Martha.  I have yet to watch their show but I suspect it's highlarious (see what I did there)!  This duo was great.  KBShimmer starts us off with Fo Shizzle, inspired by Snoop and his love for bud.  It's a gorgeous earthy green linear holo with a touch of green unicorn flakes.  But wait, there's more!  Fo Shizzle is scented like faux weed (also blended with a hint f patchouli - because what else to pot smokers burn but patchouli inscennce, and clove).  Guys, I was pretty fixated on smelling my fingers - it's defiantly reminiscent of cannabis.  Great formula, great application, zero problems.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and topcoat to finish.  Fo Shizzle will be $10, no cap.

And what could yo possibly want after smoking a bowl?  How about a brownie?  CbL took the Martha to KB's Snoop and made How About A Brownie Dogg?.  So this shimmery brown holo really  does give me notes of brownies...the chocolate frosted variety specifically.  It's a brown holo with reddish shimmer that's actually OGUP!  It's a real beauty and n my opinion the only thing that could have made it/the pairing better is if this was scented like brownies or chocolate.  That would have been epic.  I used 2 coats and finished with topcoat.  No issues with formula or application.  I don't know the pricing or cap, will update once I find out.
