Glitter Week, Day 1: Rainbow Honey

Hullo!  Got a bit of a late start with my post today but I have been working on getting a few things ready for my blog this week!  I felt Holo Week was so successful I decided to do it again, but this time it's GLITTER WEEK!  I am all for fun glitters so let's have some fun and check out todays post that features a variety of glitters from Rainbow Honey!

Up first is XOXO from the Valentine's Day Sweet Talk collection.  This pink and holo glitter topper is so pretty and girly!  XOXO is described as a "ravishing blend of glitters and flakes in a clear base."  You can use this lovely topper over any base color for some added sparkle factor!  I used 2 coats of XOXO over 2 coats of OPI Kiss Me I'm Brazilian.  The formula and application of XOXO were both great.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

This fun and flowery glitter topper is Summer Blossom.  This is a "festival of orange, yellow and white blossoms in a sea of iridescent and holographic glitters."  I really liked this one!  Flower glitters are so cheerful and happy!  The formula and application of Summer Blossom were both great.  The flowers came out very easily, spread well and laid flat on my nails!  I used 2 coats of Summer Blossom over 2 coats of OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-go?  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

And now we have a new polish that hasn't been released yet.  This is Papillon.  It's so feminine and pretty, I love it!  Papillon is a glitter topper full of soft pink and purple holo glitters, loads of holo shimmer, holo pink and sheer pink butterflies.  The addition of the glowing iridescent color shifting glitters was the perfect touch!  Formula and application of Papillon were both great.  I used 2 coats of Papillon over 2 coats of OPI Pandamonium Pink and 1 layer of topcoat.

Ok so this one isnt' a glitter, but I threw it in here anyways!  It's Be Mine, also from the Sweet Talk collection.  Be Mine is a "crelly finish polish with a dusting of microshimmer and gold flecks."  This is a great pink for the Spring and I can picture it being used for lots of sunshine events - you'd really be able to see those gold flecks pop!  The formula on Be Mine is a touch sheer, I used 3 coats and still have a little visible nail line.  Other than that, application and formula were both great.  I used 1 layer of topcoat to finish.

And finally we have The Kracken!  The Kracken is from The Summer of 199X collection.  It's a "marine jelly with a blue and green glow filled with glitters, shimmer, and the sea monster's own holographic Crashing Boom Bang!"  This is such a gorgeous color.  My pictures show it more blue that it truly it - it's much more teal in real life.  The Kracken is uber sparkly and pretty!  It's packed full of gold shimmer that is just stunning.  Formula and application were both great!  I used 2 coats of The Kracken and 1 layer of topcoat.

*I snapped a sunshine picture to show the true color of The Kracken*

HOLO WEEK: Day 6 - Smitten Polish

WOW, I can't believe I am at Day 6 of Holo Week already!  Looking back on my previous posts I have been drooling over all the holo goodness!  And with the amount of holos I received in the mail this week I will have to do another Holo Week again soon to show you all of those!  But today's post is one of my favorite indie brands...Smitten Polish.  I have only worn a few Smitten's in the past (the Falling Leaves Tree-O) and it was love at first sight.  So I've kind of stalked the brand since then.  Well I have more (and plan on getting even more with the next restock), so let's take a look at them!

Smitten Polish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

This is Be Mine! and it was released as a Valentine's polish.  Look at how sweet and pretty it is!  Be Mine! is an uber bright "bubblegum pink" linear holo and it's just perfect.  The first coat was just a little sheer so I ended up using 3 layers for complete coverage.  The formula and application were both great.  No topcoat.

After I bought the Falling Leaves Tree-O this was the next one caught in my radar beam.  Electric Lime is just that!  I adore this polish.  Electric Lime is amazing and bright neon green linear holo.  Again, the first coat was sheer and I ended up using 3 layers with no topcoat.  Application and formula were both fantastic.

The First Lobster is one of the best red linear holos I have come across.  It's actually described as a "very warm orange-leaning red" holo, but it's looks more like a red with orange undertones on me.   But mostly red.  The First Lobster had fabulous coverage, I used 2 coats and no topcoat.  Formula and application were both wonderful.

And finally, What Sorcery Is This?  This is a "bright purple, cool toned" linear holo.  I love this shade of purple.  It really works for me.  What Sorcery Is This? had a formula more like Electric Lime and Be Mine!, so the first coat was sheer.  But with 3 layers I had full coverage.
