Good morning and happy Saturday! Do you have weekend plans or are you going to lay low and veg out? My veg out weekends are few and far between, but I definitely enjoy them when I get them. Sadly this is not one of those weekends. I've got a race, soccer games and little league games. I want a nap just thinking about it. Alas, I won't nap. But I will share the May 2016 A Box Indeed with you! The theme for the month is Kentucky Derby. There's an exciting new comer to the box too...Cirque Colors! I'm digging the glitter and holo mix this box offers, it's a nice change up of finishes. You can pick up the A Box Indied for preorder from May 1st to 4th for $50 with free shipping in the US. Don't forget that there are $25 gift cards inserted in 5 lucky orders! But wait, there's more! Just like in previous months there is a giveaway to win the box. You can find more details HERE Ok ok, enough chit chat, let's check out the polishes in this box!

Colors by Llarowe created Mint Julep for the May ABI. Nothing draws me in like good linear holo and this vibrant mint shade of green is pretty fantabulous. It's all kinds of perfect for Spring and Summer months. Formula and application were both aces. I used 2 coats and no topcoat.
Here we have Cirque Colors Floral Fete, a multi colored glitter topper. Ahh, I love me some Cirque and this glitter topper is as pretty as it is unique. I don't have any color combination like this in my collection and I am very fond of the matte peach glitters. Formula was perfect, not too thick or thin. I only needed 1 coat for great payoff. I used Cirque Storm King as my base color and finished with topcoat.
CrowsToes went with a dark, vampy shade which I find pretty fitting. It's called Dark Horse and is a black with silver shimmer and gunmetal sparks. I like the subtle holo shining through the back base and in the shade you can see some flakes. The formula seemed a little thin with the first 2 coats and I noticed a few lumps, not sure if it was the holo or the flags, but the 3rd coat totally smoothed things over. The finish of this one throws me off because it's really not uber glossy but it's not matte either. I finished with topcoat.

Last but definitely not least is Girly Bits Hat-A-Tude. This is a stunning holo full of silver, purple, violet and magenta micro glitter with red/pink shimmer. LOVE that shimmah! As I'm sitting here typing I realize I am at a loss for words to describe the beauty of this polish. I apologize for the cat having caught my tongue, but all I can really think while looking at the pictures is you will need this. Period. Formula and application were both great. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage and finished with topcoat for smooth to the touch nails.
