Good morning dears. Hope your Saturday night was eventful! Mine definitely was. I spent the evening with8 of my daughter's friends, making stuffed animals at Build A Bear for Naomi's 5th birthday. Not as exciting as being at Polish Con but it was still fun times! Now I'm just waiting for soccer to start. But until then I am keeping true to my word and getting another post to share with you lovelies! Yesterday I showed you the Dreamland Lacquer Halloween Trio and today I have the Outlander Collection! Are you a fan of the Outlander books or tv series? Do you love Jamie and Claire? Do you love the history and romantic settings in Scotland and France? I DO! I read these books a few years ago (maybe more like 6 years ago) and was completely sucked into them. They entailed history, romance, action, mystery, fantasy, a little horror - all around fantastic novels. I was very excited when Noelie previewed her Outlander collection in the Dreamland fan group. Eeeeeeee! So I'm very happy to be sharing these with you now. The Outlander Collection will be available on Monday 9/19 at 2pm Central. You can purchase them during the 72 hour pre-order period for $11.50 each or $42 for the 4-piece set. Now let's check these out!
Red Jamie is a chestnut red linear holo. I do love Jamie. He's manly but caring, and my mental image of him from the books don't quite match up to the character in the tv series, but he's grown on me too. The formula and application of this one were amazing. It was creamy and rich and full coverage in 2 coats. No topcoat needed.
I compared Red Jamie to Out, Damned Clot! (index) and Coral Of The Story II (pinky). All very different. I love the deep color of Red Jamie, perfect for the Fall!
Sassenach is a dark brown linear holo. If you aren't familiar with the books/show, sassenach is what Jamie calls Claire, sort of a term of endearment even though it's a bit of a put down way of calling someone English. This is another fabulously rich shade for the Fall. Formula and application were both perfect. I used 2 coats and no topcoat.
Rounding out the collection is Over The Sea To Sky, a teal jelly with hoo flakies. It's inspired by the song at the beginning of the tv series, which was inspired by the diary pools on the Isle of Skye. It's a beautiful song, you can listen to it HERE. This color is gorgeous and magical, much like the song and fantasy in the show. Formula and application were great! I used 2 coats and a layer of topcoat.
I've got another comparison for you. My index is Mauka, a Hella Holo Customs Exclusive. Middle is Makai, another HHC exclusive. Ring is Over The Sea To Skye and pinky is Blue Suede Stews. Different finishes, different colors. If you have the others you're in the clear to get Over The Sea To Skye!
