Lollipop Posse Lacquer; First Lines Collection

Good morning!  Hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July and celebrated with loved ones.  I spent the morning at a local race (yes, I am still plugging along at 20 weeks pregnant), then went to San Francisco with the fam for fresh seafood lunch.  Low key evening playing with sparklers, bbq and s'mores.  All in all, it was a chill day and I really enjoyed it.  But today is back to the grind, camp and taking care of the house, chores AND the blog!  Actually that all may take a back seat because I am hungry and a bagel sounds great.  So let's make this quick!  Lollipop Posse Lacquer will be releasing the brand new First Lines Collection.  This collection was inspired by the first lines in favorite literature.  I love the idea behind the collection and the shades themselves are gorgeous and unique!  The First Lines Collection will be available for pre-order starting 7/6 at noon EDT through 7/31.  Remaining stock will be available on 8/1 (but do you really want to chance it?).  Individual shades will be $12, the collection will be $60 shipped (inside the US until 7/31).  Ok, I think that's all the info I need to provide so let's check out the pretty polish!

Perfectly Normal, Thank You Very Much is a gorgeous opalescent, pearly grey crelly with holo flakes and strong pink aurora shimmer. Wow, totally gorgeous shade!  I really like the base color, such a soft grey that is super flattering.  PNTYVM is from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by JK Rowling.  Formula and application were both great, no complaints, no problems.  I used 3 coats and topcoat to finish.

Can I just say that The Clocks Were Striking Thirteen is the most unique color I have come across in a long time and I love it!  It's a bronzey, yellowish, dijon mustard kind of a shade with diamond flakes, holo flakes, and shifty green flakes.  So much going on and it all works!  Great formula, applied perfectly in 2 coats.  Finished with topcoat.  TCWST is from the book Nineteen Eight-Four by George Orwell.

Here's It Was A Pleasure To Burn, taken from Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.  This beauty is a warm red that to my IRL eye reminds me of a dusty red brick, filled with green shifty shimmer holo flakes, red/green/gold shifty glitters.  I thought it was impossible to make a unique red shade anymore but I was pleasantly surprised to be proved wrong with IWAPTB.  Formula and application were both awesome, 2 oats for full coverage, topcoat to finish.

The second book from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is called The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.  This book brings us our next first line, Widely Regarded As A Bad Decision.  The polish is a bright lime green with red/gold aurora shimmer, some holo flecks, and green shifty UCC fakes.  I love me some lime green polish but I love it even more when it has lots of extras like this one does!  Makes it such an interesting and pretty polish!  There was a bit more VNL with this one as it was more of a jelly finish.  But I found the formula and application both stellar - no problems.  3 coats plus topcoat.

And last but not least we have When the Drugs Began to Take Hold, from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson.  This polish is an ultramarine blue jelly with red/gold, and blue/purple aurora shimmers, and some iridescent shifty chameleon flakes.  Really pretty shade of blue, nice and vibrant with all the added pops of color.  Again, the jelly formula does leave a nit of VNL, but formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 3 coats and finished with topcoat.
