Afternoon y'all! It's another rainy day here in the Bay Area. A lot of people are complaining about this atmospheric river but I don't mind it at all. We need the rain, I can stay inside almost all day and it's way better than snow. Plus gives me a chance to sit and blog. Today I have 4 items to show you, all from Alter Ego. 3 group custom polishes and a hand/body cream. Let me alert you right away that 2 of these won't be available after today (3/7) so you will have to act fast if you want them. The other polish is available all of March. Let's jump in and I will give more details about each as I get to them! And as always, save 20% using my code: My Nail Polish Obsession.
I'm kicking this post off with the Under Cover Whipped Butter 2.0 hand and body cream. This is made with unrefined shea butter, coconut oil, grapeseed oil and a few other ingredients. It has a very natural scent, not fake at all, a bit earthy. It doesn't linger too long. This is some heavy duty moisturizer and if you have super chapped hands you will probably like this cream. The oils and butters make it fairly greasy and it takes a good amount of time to rub/soak in to the skin. For that reason I will likely only use it on my hands. It's a whipped, soft texture and literally melts once in contact with my skin. A little definitely goes a long way. A 2oz jar is $6.
This green beauty is 4 Leaf Clover. It's the Alter Ego fan group custom for March. Such a perfect shade of green for the spring time. It has a very subtle touch of silvery sparkles. No problems with formula or application. 2 coats for full opacity, topcoat to finish. $10 for a 17ml bottle.
Moonlit Waves was created for the Black Hearted Beauties group. It's a beautiful deep indigo blue with purple shimmer and blue and sparkles. Definitely getting that night time, vampy vibe from this one. Great formula and application. 2 coats plus topcoat. Moonlit Waves is only available through today (3/7) in the Facebook Group.
And last but not least is Mother of Pearl. This one is created for the Lacquered in White Facebook group. It's an ethereal, pearly white full of tiny silvery-white flecks to give that look of the inside of a shell. It is a little frosty, but because it's not a fully opaque polish it doesn't come off as streaky at all. It would probably look great in one thin coat over a base color. I used 3 coats for my pictures and finished with topcoat. No problems with formula or application. Mother of Pearl is only available to members of the group, until the end of the day today (3/7).
