Sweet Heart Polish Sweet Summer Memories

Good evening!  Sorry for going missing this weekend, I had a little mishap with my phone and a toilet during a "mom's night out" with some of my friends.  So I had no phone all weekend and that usually where I share photos to Instagram and random posts to my Facebook page.  Aside from that it was 100% soccer all weekend long - I'm actually glad the boys don't play during the summer because it's getting tiring going to practices and games for 4 people every weekend.  Anywho, now I feel like I have catching up to do.  So let's start with a collection that launched today!  Sweet Heart Polish came up with a really awesome collection of glitter careless and named them after Summery activities that will certainly bring up some childhood memories (for most of us at least).  The Sweet Summer Memories collection consists of 4 lovely polishes that you can pick up now for $9.00USD each.  So let's jump in and hear about these fun and beautiful polishes.

Up first I have Fireworks!, a "mix of red, teal & pastel glitters with mini teal stars and a red flash of shimmer in a white crelly." I love the tiny stars and the shimmer in Fireworks!, so pretty.  It really is the little details like those that really make a polish stand out for me and Fireworks! does indeed look like fireworks and the 4th of July with the colors and stars used. Fireworks! had a great formula and built up nicely in 3 coats.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

This is At The Drive-In, a "blend of purple, turquoise and aqua glitters with a splash of iridescent purple glitter and a bright purple flash in a white crelly base."  The colors in this one totally work for a drive-in.  The darker shades definitely make me think of that twilight/dusk time of the evening.  The colors really pop against the white base.  At the Drive-In had a great formula that was easy to work with.  I used 3 coats and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Under the Boardwalk is one of my favorites in the collection.  It's such a delicate and gorgeous mix of "pastel purple and green glitters with green micro flakes."  I had been craving crelly so much and when I put on Under the Boardwalk my desire was completely satiated.  It's absolutely crelly perfection and is very reminiscent of sun bleached sea shells that you'd find out on the beach or under the boardwalk.  I used 4 coats of Under the Boardwalk (it's a lighter base color to start with) and finished with a layer of topcoat.

And finally we've come to my favorite, because you know I always save the best for last.  County Fair is a "mix of fun neon glitters with some satin pastel circles thrown in the mix and bright blue micro flakes."  The neon glitters with the clean white base are lovely.  I found the formula of County Fair to be wonderful, great coverage and fabulous application.  Used 4 coats of County Fair and 1 layer of topcoat.

HOLO WEEK: Day 1 - F.U.N. Lacquer

Good morning and welcome to HOLO WEEK!  Yup, I decided to have a whole week dedicated to my favorite polish finish.  I have many more fun weeks planned just like this one, so I hope Holo Week is a successful to something new that I'm trying.  Today's post brings an amazing brand that I haven't tried before.  F.U.N. Lacquer comes from Singapore and (from what I can tell) has been around since April of 2013.  I have been drooling over all the pictures that pop up in my Instagram feed and I just had to try this brand out for myself.  Let me just say...I'm in deep trouble.  I loved both polishes I tried out and have the strong urge to get them all!  Thankfully F.U.N. Lacquer ships to the US!  Let's look at the pictures now!

Up first is Fireworks from the New Year 2014 collection.  Fireworks is described as a "caramel brown holo with pink shimmer and gold duochrome."  Spot on.  All these colors play together so perfectly.  The shimmer is just strong enough to be noticeable, the color shift is prominent and the holo is beautiful.  The formula was great and application was a breeze.  I used 3 layers of Fireworks and no topcoat.  *The maker recently changed the pigments in the New Year 2014 collection so be sure to find out if you will receive the old (which I have here) or the new which is richer in color.

I was really excited for this one!  Glow Diamond is a beautiful scattered holo, glow in the dark top coat!  Let me start by saying that Glow Diamond did not disappoint!  It was so lovely in the light and had a very bright glow in the dark.  I love the idea that you can use this over any color to create a fun, sparkly holographic look.  The fact that it glows is a happy bonus.  Formula and application of Glow Dimond were both outstanding.  I used 2 layers of Glow Diamond over OPI Toucan Do It If You Try and no topcoat.
