Zoya: Sensual Collection, Fall 2019

Afternoon all!  I'm back with another Fall collection for you today.  I'm squeezing this post in before I run out the door for taxi mom duties so excuse the shortness but I'm just going to give you the polish names and how many coats I used.  Zoya always has great collections for the holidays and the Sensual Collection for Fall 2019 totally fit the bill.  I like that they included different colors, not the typical orange, green, teal.  There is a ab nude and a fun, sparkly black. There are a lot of options for buying here...4 different trios at $30 each, the Sensual Collection box with Remove, base coat, topcoat and cotton balls for $90, or individual bottles for $10 each. The Sensual collection is available NOW! Let's jump in and check out the post!

Zoya; Sophisticates, Part 1

Evening beauties!  I swear my weeks aren't getting any less busy with my kids in school.  Maybe it's just me playing catch up from the Summer months still, but I barely have any down time.  Hopefully next week will be easier and less busy.  I do have to say that I was really happy with the weather today.  It's been so hot here that even thought it was 80 it was  much needed break from the 100+ heat wave.  It felt so nice I decided it was the perfect day to get my first pumpkin spice latte.  Also a great day to share a beautiful Fall collection from Zoya.  I usually do the whole collection in one post but I decided to split it up in to 2 posts this time.  You can purchase the Sophisticates collection now for $10 each.  So let's delve in and see what shades Zoya has in store for us this season!

Zoya Urban Grunge; Cremes

Good evening lovelies.  Hope your Friday has gone well!  Mine was nice and relaxing.  The house is clean, I did a lot of walking, had lunch with some girlfriends and the kids played with friends after school.  I'm racing tomorrow, but I have a lot of polish to swatch, and will be on the road a bit tomorrow so hopefully I have time to share more posts with you over the weekend.  For now I wanted to share the new Zoya Urban Grunge Cremes from the Fall 2016 collection.  Zoya makes really great cremes, the formula and application are always nice and easy to apply - which is really a huge factor in their popularity amongst the nail community.  These definitely fall right into line with the fantastic formula.  The creme set is only half of the entire set, but I thought I'd separate them out and focus on each group individually.  Urban Grunge is available now, you can pick them up for $10 each.  Let's jump in and check them out!

Zoya Island Fun, Summer 2015

Good afternoon lovelies!  I'm about to head out for a run, hoping to get in longer than 3 miles today.  But my middle little wants to go with me so he'll be riding his electric Razor scooter.  I think the charge doesn't last that long so we'll see how many miles I can get in before we have to turn around.  Anyhoodle, I wanted to quickly share some of the Summer Zoyas with you.  I know these have been out for a while now and plenty of bloggers shared them already, but it's technically still Summer and I figured it might be nice to spread out the shares over the entire length of the season rather than bombard you with another post that you've already seen.  So here's the Island Fun collection, a set of 6 creme finish polishes in great colors.  Island Fun is available now and each bottle is $9 USD.  If you haven't picked any up yet you probably want a few, the formula alone makes them worth it and several of the colors will easily be wearable in the Fall.  So here we go...Island Fun!

Up first is Serenity.  This is a gorgeous purple with a perfect formula.  Very creamy and opaque.  I love how shiny the Zoya cremes are, they don't even need topcoat and they look fantastic.  I used 2 coats of Serenity for full coverage and no topcoat.

Jace, a tropical green creme is very on trend with this season's fashion.  I'm sure you've noticed all the palm trees/fronds that are on clothing and jewelry right now and this polish will accompany those items perfectly.  I'm a fan of the trend so I really fell in love with Jace.  I found Jace to be a bit thin with the first layer but it built up great with the second coat.  No topcoat used.

Nana is another one of my favorites from the collection, because it's pink of course!  This color is reminiscent of fragrant, tropical flowers.  Oh how I wish I was still in Hawaii.  Nana was super creamy and super opaque.  Look at the gorgeous shine!  I used 2 coats of Nana and no topcoat.

And now we have Cecilia.  I'll admit I had heard the rumors of the stainers and that also played a factor in my procrastination in swatching these.  Sadly I have to report that Cecilia is indeed a stainer.  The skin around your fingers will surely take the brunt of the staining upon removal.  Maybe use a peel off base coat to avoid that?  Cecilia is a creamy teal.  Aside from the satining the formula and application were very nice - right on par with all the others in this collection.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

Demetria is my jam.  I love this color.  It's like a blood-orange creme.  PERFECT!  You can ever so slightly see my nail line with this polish so it might be a bit thinner than the others but the formula and appreciation were both the same as all the others.  I used 2 coats of Demetria and no topcoat.

And here's Talia.  This is a full coverage turquoise (that looks blue in my pictures.  I saved Talia for last.  Not because I disliked the color but because it was an even worse stainer than Cecilia.  Sad panda.  My nails looked pretty bad after I took this off.  I can only hope that a peel off base will keep from any staining, but my nails and skin were blue tinted for a day after, even after a buff and a scrub.  Regardless of the staining, the formula was creamy and opaque.  I used 2 coats of Talia and no topcoat.

China Glaze Desert Escape

Good morning, happy Tuesday.  Yay for a short week.  It's been pretty overcast and chilly here in the mornings.  I keep wondering when the hot weather is going to make it's appearance.  Today's post is definitely all about that dry desert summer heat.  China Glaze released a Special Edition Collection, Desert Escape for the Summer.  China Glaze Desert Escape will be available in June 2015 online at LockAndMane.com.  Individual shades MSRP $7.50; Nail Design Kits MSRP $14.95, Tribal Council Micro Minis MSRP $12.00.  The kits will also be available at local Sally's.  You ready to take a look at this very HOT collection?!  Let's do it then!

What's She Dune? is a "sandy beige creme."  It's soft and pretty and very sand-like in color.  I found the formula a bit tricky to work with.  What's She Dune? didn't want to level itself out and I ended up using 3 coats to cover up all the sparse spots.  No topcoat used.

Meet Me In The Mirage is a "rose gold metallic.  Of course this is one of my favorites, I love me some rose gold.  So pretty and wearable.  The formula and application were both great.  The brush strokes (which sometimes are problematic with metallic polish) were minimal thanks to the addition of  a very light touch of glittery shimmer. I used 2 coats of Meet Me In The Mirage and no topcoat.

Don't Mesa With My Heart is a "vibrant violet pink creme."  The color on this polish is all win, but the formula left much to be desired.  Again I had trouble with leveling and even-ness in the color.  I ended up using 4 coats of Don't Mesa With My Heart for full coverage.  No topcoat used.

Don't Desert Me is a "fuchsia pearl shimmer" and another one of my favorites from the collection.  I know I have a drawer full of pinks, but really CAN you have enough pink?  The answer surely is no.  I truly love how this polish has that glow-y look to it, it just makes you want to stare at it.  Don't Desert Me had a fantastic formula and it applied perfectly in 2 coats.  I used no topcoat.

Rain Dance The Night Away is a "turquoise creme" that is creamy and buttery and lovely all around.  I was relieved this creme had a nice formula and applied easily since the last 2 were a bit troublesome.  Rain Dance The Night Away would be perfect for some turquoise stone nail art - I think I need to try that now!  I used 2 coats of Rain Dance The Night Away and no topcoat.

The Heat Is On is a "sunlit red-orange creme."  It's my final favorite of the bunch, though I would classify it more as a jelly or crelly than a creme.  It's fairly see-thru on the nail, but builds up really well.  It's also very shiny on it's own.  The Heat Is On actually reminds me of a big old red tomato.  The formula and application were both wonderful.  I used 2 coats of The Heat Is On and no topcoat.

Here I did a very simple nail art look, using both What's She Dune? and Meet Me In The Mirage.  I covered my entire nail with Dune, and using a strip of striping tape I separate my nail into even haves.  I then used Mirage to paint one side of the line.  So simple, but a very dramatic effect.  I used a layer of topcoat here.

And one more easy art look.  For this one I used both Don't Mesa With My Heart and Don't Desert Me.  I started with Mesa as my base, then using a fan brush I vertically brushed on Desert.  The fuchsia against the pink is stunning and that glow-y finish on Desert really translates over the creme Mesa.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.
