Simple Fall Gradient with Zoya Leigh & Cam

Evening all!  It was a soccer filled weekend for me again.  My boys have a loaded end of the season so it's going to be games upon games upon games until mid December while most other clubs have ended or are about to end.  But it's ok, I just out on my Soccer Mom hat and enjoy the time spent with my kids.  Anywho, I recently used this gradient for a Halloween mani but wanted to share the gradient itself since it was pretty cute for the season.  I used Zoya's for this and both shades are still available!  Let's check it out.

Vapid Lacquer Halloween Quartet

Hullo!  It's late. Or is it early?  The last 2 days have been a blur.  It's been go go go and right now I have 6 little girls in my living room from a slumber party and I'm not sure if any of us slept.  Thankfully my boys don't mind being shunned to their rooms for the night while the girls take over.  And at least I know they got sleep.  So I meant to get this post up yesterday, but like I said, it's been about 48 hours of non-stop mom life.  So if you're a night owl, let's talk about Vapid Lacquer!  So there are these Halloween polishes.  You may know them.  They are returning classics.  They are gorgeous!  Let's just jump in so you can appreciate them for their dark, broody beauty.  And then you can make a plan to pick up the Halloween Quartet later today (9/17) during the restock at 6pm CST!

Superficially Colorful Halloween Collection, Fall 2015

Good evening boys and ghouls!  I can't believe Halloween is SO close and I haven't done any Halloween manis yet!  Ugh, #failure.  Well fortunately I do have a couple more Halloween themed polishes to share so I'll get my rear in gear and share those ASAP!  Up first is the Superficially Colorful Halloween Collection.  This launched on 10/1 so you can pick up your favorites now!  The 4 piece set is $33, or you can get individuals for $9 each.  If you love holiday themed polish, and holo then this is definitely a collection you will want.  Jin mentioned that the Halloween collection is NOT limited edition, but since it is seasonal it won't be available all year long.  I loved each color and the names are fun!  The formulas are also pretty dang awesome.  So let's jump in and check out these Halloween treats!

Up first I have Ghouls Night Out.  I'm pretty sure all the ladies out there could use one of these just about all the time (if you're anything like me).  Ghouls Night Out is a "sour bright green holographic polish with a hint of golden shimmer."  I found the formula and application both fabulous.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

Next we have Witch You Were Here.  Love the name, love the color!  It's a "deep dark purple holographic polish."  This shade of purple is perfection (and not only for Halloween).  The formula and application of Witch You Were Here were both stellar.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

Sweet Treat (another awesome name) is a "red leaning orange holographic polish with a jelly like finish."  This one gave my camera some issues.  Especially on the macro so sadly I don't have a macro for you.  But the other pictures turned out alright.  Ok first off this color is AMAZING.  It screams pumpkins and fall and falling leaves and and and.... The formula was super creamy and opaque.  Sweet Treat was almost a one coater!  I did have a bit of a hard time cleaning it up, it started to turn my cuticle orange but that was the only spot where it did that.  So I would definitely suggest some base coat and to take caution when painting with this one as it could possibly stain your skin.  I used 2 coats of Sweet Treat and no topcoat.

Last but not least is I'm Just A Little Batty.  Every good Halloween collection need a black and Jin nailed it!  It's the perfect shade of black with just the right amount of holo so it's not overwhelming.  I do appreciate when I can see the base color through the holo (sometimes the flame overshadows the beautiful base color).  I'm Just A Little Batty had a top notch, creamy and opaque formula.  Application was like butter.  I only needed one coat for full coverage and no topcoat used.

I thought you'd be interested in seeing some of the other products Jin has been working on!  Handmade soap AND mani bombs!  They both smell amazing and I have them set aside to use on a night that I need some ultimate pampering.  I will definitely share my thoughts and more pictures with you once I try them out.  In the meantime, keep your eyeballs peeled for when she starts stocking these fab hand/body care items in her shop!

Morgan Taylor Honky Tonk Honeys, Fall 2015

Good morning lovelies!  The weather is finally cooling off and it feels like Fall!  I hope it sticks around this time and the heat doesn't come back with a vengeance like it did last week.  So it's hump day and it's one of my busier "taxi mom" days.  I'll need to dig deep to find the energy to get through it, or plan to take at least one quick nap.  I'll be starting my morning with a hike but I also wanted to share a beautiful Fall collection with you.  I recently posted the upcoming collections from Morgan Taylor that I heard about when I visited their booth at CosmoProf North America (you can see that post HERE).  Well today I have the Honky Tonk Honeys, a 4-piece collection of mini bottles from their Urban Cowgirl collection.  If you head over to the Morgan Taylor website you can pick up this set for the sale price of $15!  Now kick up your cowgirl boots and let's talk polish!

Morgan Taylor Honkey Tonk Honeys

Up first I have the only shimmer/frost shade in the Honky Tonk Honeys collection.  Tex'as Me Later is a mauve colored polish with a heavy had of shimmer that gives it a frosty finish.  I'll admit that this was my least favorite of the collection.  The color and finish just didn't do it for me.  The formula and application on this one was ok, I'd recommend not overworking the polish while applying to reduce the amount of brush strokes.  I used 2 coats of Tex'as Me Later and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Ok now we're talking!  The rest of the Honky Tonk Honeys set are these totally amazing cremes!  This is A Touch Of Sass, a deep red creme.  I was totally in lust with the formula and application of this polish; opaque and creamy and so gorgeous.  I used 2 coats of A Touch Of Sass for full coverage but you could easily get away with one.  No topcoat used.

Plum Tuckered Out is a stunning dark, plummy-purple creme.  I looooooove this color!  The formula and application were both perfect.  Opaque, creamy, so easy to apply.  I used 2 coats of Plum Tuckered Out and no topcoat.

Pumps Or Cowboy Boots?, the last polish in the 4-piece set, is a dark chocolate brown creme.  Wow, this is such an awesome brown polish!  Pumps Or Cowboy Boots? is definitely my favorite color in this set.  The formula and application were both top notch.  I used 2 coats of Pumps Or Cowboy Boots? and no topcoat.

Farewell to Fall Mani featuring Different Dimension Pilgrimatic

Hey hey!  So I don't know when it oficially became winter but it's finally cold enough here to feel like it is so I figured I'd share this last Fall mani I had done with you since I've been wearing Christmas styles these days.  I whipped up this pretty mani for Thanksgiving and love how it turned out.  Let's take a looksee at what I've got on!

*nothing to disclose*

Elevation Polish: ShopLlaroweBlogFacebookInstagram
Cuccio Naturale: Website, Facebook

I started with one of the newest Different Dimension Shooting Stars - Pilgrimatic, a stunning brown and gold and rainbow glitter bomb.  There's just so much fall color-goodness and holo sparkles.   I love it!  Pilgrimatic built up bealutfully on it's own.  I used 3 coats for full coverage.

I used Elevation Polish Gobi on my accent nail.  Gobi is a strange polish - it's one of those funky shades of green that is actually gorgeous on.  Gobi is a little holo, a little shifty, a lot of pretty.  I used 2-3 coats of Gobi.  Then I stamped a design on it using Cuccio Bronzed Godess.  I can't remember the number of the stamping plate but I know it was from Pueen.

To finish off my skitlette I used Cuccio Bronzed Godess on my pinky and thumb.  This is a matte polish and it is so beautiful!  I love the shade of brown and the shimmer.  Of course the matte finish is fabulous.  The formula and application of the Cuccio were both great too.  I used 2 coats of Bronzed Godess for full coverage.  I only used topcoat on my index, middle and accent nails.
