Addicted To Holos Indie Box, October 2015

Good morning (or afternoon).  I'm having a very lazy day, the weather is kind of weird so I'm totally content to just hang around the house, moving from the couch to my bed all day long.  I definitely put in my dues over the last few days so I don't even mind.  It also gives me time to catch up on posts and swatching.  Today I have the upcoming Addicted To Holos October Box to show you.  I have reviews a few of the ATH sub boxes and I have to say this one is my favorite.  The formulas and colors are all outstanding!  The Addicted To Holos October Box will be available for pre-order from 10/5 to 10/12. The box, with 5 full sized polishes, will be $50 plus shipping.  There is also International shipping available.  So now that you know the details, let's check out the goods!

Up first I have Literary Lacquers Phoenix In Her Blood.  This is such a gorgeous sangria colored holo.  Just the perfect amount of dark mixed with red - great Fall color!  Formula and application were both stellar.  I used 2 coats of Phoenix In Her Blood for full coverage and no topcoat.  *you could easily use 2 coats but I wanted you to see the depth of the color*

The Polish Bar created Purple Mist for the October Box.  Ooooh sounds eerie and creepy right?  But it's absolutely gorgeous!  This is a medium purple holo with pewter micro glitters added in.  This is such a great color and it'll be the perfect purple for Halloween manis!  Formula and application were both great.  I used 3 coats of Purple Mist for full coverage and no topcoat.

Next is Philly Loves Lacquer, Taisteal Sabhailte.  This means Safe Travels in Irish.  It's a fabulous "coralesque orange linear holo with gold flash and copper shimmer."  Such a fabulous Fall color - it makes me think of leaves that have changed color.  Makes me wish I lived in a New England area so I could fully appreciate the season.  The formula was nice, a bit crelly-ish and the application was good.  I used 3 coats of Taisteal Sabhailte and no topcoat.

Sweet Heart Polish came up with Sugar & Spice.  No surprise this is my favorite in the collection.  This warm brown holo with pink flash is superb!  The formula was nice and creamy and the application were perfect.  Sugar & Spice was thisclose to being a 1 coater!  But to truly show off the color I ended up using 2 coats.  No topcoat.

Last but not least is Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Sepulcher By The Sea.  I've noticed a huge trend this for Aqua this season.  And I'm totally not complaining because it's a beautiful color and very unexpected for the Fall season (unexpected is good).  BEGL really nailed the trend and came up with a truly stunning color!  The addition of the gold and pink flecks really make it unique.  The formula was really nice - it's described as a jelly but I found it much more opaque and creamy than that.  It applied nicely too.  I used 2 coats of Sepulcher By The Sea and no topcoat.

Addicted To Holos Indie Box, August 2015

Good evening!  Hope your Friday went by fast and you are headed into a great weekend.  I packed up the kids and spent some time on the beach, having a beach side lunch then walking around while enjoying an ice cream.  So sad, Summer days are almost behind us.  The August Addicted to Holos Box is a great mixture of polishes that capture the Summer vibe and a few that will definitely prepare you for the coming Fall weather.  I really enjoyed all the polishes in this month's box!  You can pre-order up the August Addicted To Holos box from 8/10-8/17.  The cost is $60,  plus $6.95 US shipping.  Now let's look at polish!

Up first is Literary Lacquers Can't Work By Lime Light.  This is a really gorgeous lime green jelly finish holo with a generous helping of holo glitters.  I love the color and the finish.  The holo glitters add interest to the polish.  Since Can't Work By Lime Light is a jelly finish it was a sheer on the first coat but the formula was really nice and easy to use.  It built up well in 3 coats.  I found that Can't Work By Lime Light dried to a slightly matte finish so I slapped some topcoat on it for a shiny finish.

Here's another green in the box!  This is Hot August Nights from Sweet Heart Polish.  There is a big event in Reno, Nevada by the same name.  Loads of suped up classic cars are there and I can TOTALLY picture a sweet-@ss ride in this shade of basil green sitting there sparkling in the sunshine.  So boss.  I also think that Hot August Nights is a great transitional color - the deeper shade of green makes it perfect of Fall and even Winter.  Hot August Nights is is also a jelly finish polish with a really nice shiny finish.  It was fairly sheer with the first coat but it built up really nicely.  You can easily get away with 3 coats but I used 4 for my pictures.  No topcoat needed.

The Polish Bar contributed a very Summery polish to the box.  This is Surf Blue.  Great name and very fitting for the shade.  These are the types of blues that I really truly love.  They are serene and peaceful and make me think of lounging on a beach watching waves crash on the beach.  Surf Blue is a very soft, delicate aqua linear holo.  Surf Blue has a creme-y finish but it was sheer on the first coat.  But it did build up perfectly in 3 coats.  No topcoat needed.

Philly Loves Lacquer leaned toward Autumn with Fallen Ember.  This is a beautiful maroon full of pink and purple shimmer and silvery flakies.  This is actually one of my favorite Fall shades and I wear it pretty frequently on my nails (as well as lipstick and clothing).  I really love the addition of the shimmer and flakies to this polish.  I found the formula a bit thick and sticky.  It wasn't difficult to manage but I thought it was worth mentioning.  I used 2 coats of Fallen Ember and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Rounding out the collection is another shade that speaks more to the Autumn season (in my opinion).  This is Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Heat Lightning.  Strangely enough we did have some Summer "heat" lightning here last night!  Loud, rumbling thunder and rolling through and a light show up in the sky.  This Heat Lightning is a chrome silver linear holo.  It's really pretty and the holo effect is a nice medium strength.   The formula and application were both great.  I had full coverage in 2 coats.  Heat Lightning dries to a slightly matte finish so I used 1 layer of topcoat.
