Hello hello! This is the first of 2 posts today featuring Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer! I feel like it wasn't long ago that I discovered this brand and Julie has a pretty big following so I must have been living under a rock. Anyways I have been attempting to play catch up by obtaining older BEGL while also adding from the new collections! I was actually lucky that my BFF Ehmkay Nails wanted to split the Spark In The Dark set with me because it meant that I would finally own my white buffalo - LE Hypothermia (I previously won a mini bottle but it was like some magical elixir that I was afraid to use). So my post features 5 of the polishes (plus the LE) from the collection and to see the other 2 head over to Ehmkay Nails - she should have a post up soon! This collection leaned heavy on the blues, but thankfully I enjoy a nice blue so it was all good. You can purchase the full collection of 7 polishes + the LE Hypothermia for $67 or individual bottles for $8.50 - $12. Please note that LE Hypothermia is ONLY available with the purchase of the complete set. And now you know what time it is...time to look at POLISH!
*nothing to disclose*
Up first is It's Almost After Midnight. This is a "medium-dark grey creme with strong blue shimmer and blue flash." Definitely strong on the bus shimmer/flash! It's very pretty and a fabulous formula. It's Almost After Midnight was creamy and opaque. Quite lovely to work with. I used 2 coats of It's Almost After Midnight and 1 layer of topcoat.

Never Danced Like This Before...HELLO! This is a stunning "navy holo with teal shimmer." Guys guess what, Never Danced Like This Before is a ONE COATER!! Look at it! Amazing. Formula and application were both fantastic. As I said, 1 coat used and 1 layer of topcoat.

The Years Have Been Short is a unique and fun polish! It was actually the first one that really popped out at me when the initial swatches starting hitting my Facebook and instagram feeds. It's a "jelly base tinted slightly white with white microglitter, silver reflective beads, blue/purple iridescent microglitters, strong blue shimmer, and a smattering of various shades of blue microglitters." Wow, that's a lot of pretty in one bottle! The Years Have Been Short had a nice formula and applied easily. You can wear this alone in 2-3 coats or 1 layer over a base color. It dries to a slightly textured finish so you have the option to leave it textured or use topcoat for a glossy/smooth finish. I used 3 coats of The Years Have Been Short and I am showing it without and with topcoat.

Bound To City Life was my surprise favorite of the bunch I selected. I typically pass up jellies but this one made me think "uh oh, I've been missing out!" Bound To City Life is a "dark teal jelly with purple, navy, red, green, and silver holo microglitters." The formula and application were excellent. I had full coverage, no visible nail line, in 2 perfect coats. I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Ahhhhhhh *angels singing*, and here she is...Hypothermia. This has been a polish I have chased for over a year. I can't express how excited I am to have it, and a full sized bottle that I don't feel guilty using. Hypothermia is a Limited Edition polish that is only available with the purchase of the listing for the complete Spark In The Dark set. Hypothermia is a "purple holo with purple shimmers." It's perfect. Formula and application were fabulous. I had complete coverage in 2 coats and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

The last beauty I have to share with you is She's Electricity. It was nice to get a change of color scenery over here. She's Electricity is a "hot pink holo with pink and aqua shimmer and purple-blue iridescent glitters." Again, the formula was top notch. Creamy and opaque. I only needed 2 coats for complete coverage. I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.
