Good afternoon y'all. I've been a busy bee today with the posting and there's a lot more where that came from! This isn't a nail polish post though...it's a Fit Snack box post! I always have a huge smile on my face when my Fit Snack Box arrives. I know that there will be some products I've tried and love and some products that are new to me! I really have so much fun tasting them all, it helps me make informed decisions when I buy full sized products later! Anywho, for now I've got the May box on my blog and it's full of great, satisfying items. You can subscribe to this box in different increments, 3 month, 6 month and so on. You can save $3 using my link HERE! Alright, let's talk about the snack!
*press sample*
Let's start with the peanut butter! Peanut Butter & Co Mighty Nut Powdered Peanut Butter sets a new standard for peanut butter. I have tried other brands before and never care for the after taste. I had none of that with this bad boy! It mixed up to a nice and thick, creamy style peanut butter easily. And the taste is spot on! Actually, I didn't even notice the vanilla flavor! You get 5-6 grams of protein and only 1 gram of fat.
Just add water and mix!
Fruit Bliss Dried Fruit Organic Turkish Mini Figs are a great grab and go source of fruit. But I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of figs. I went ahead and gave these a try, they are sweet and a bit firm I don't like the texture of the seeds, that throws me off. Otherwise, I felt they were tasty enough and make a great, healthy snack.
Bite Fuel Protein Granola in Blue Mango flavor was probably my favorite item in this box. I love crunching on granola and this one was the perfect texture, sweetness and flavor. Great combination of nuts and dried fruit AND you get 10 grams of protein! Perfect post workout snack.
Foods Alive Lemon Chia-Crunch is a totally new-to-me product! I have never heard of it, nor have I tried any lemon flavored crackers. A while ago I came to the conclusion that I am not a big fan of chia...the wet style of chia. I can totally do the dry, crunchy chia. It's quite delicious. So I was happy to see that this was in cracker form. The lemon flavor really threw me for a loop though. It was a bright flavor on my tongue and was pretty good. I like that Foods Alive is a family owned company that strives to deliver high quality foods that are organize, vegan, kosher and gluten free.
Soon much chia!
Purely Inspired Organic Protein shake was also included in my box. You guys will have to fill me in on protein powders because I am only used to electrolyte replacement drinks. Well let me tell you about the product first then we'll talk about taste and texture. Number 1 point is that you get a whopping 20 grams of protein in each serving. You also get 7 grams of fiber. This is definitely a great idea for a post workout and the fact that you only need water to mix it up makes it uber easy to take to the gym (or wherever) with you. But I didn't care for the taste. It was sweet, but it wasn't tasty. I also felt it was a bit chalky, leaving a powdery residue in my mouth. I have 1 more packet and will try it with almond or coconut milk next time.
Rise Buddy! I've reviewed this brand with every box so far and I continue to enjoy their products. I'll admit I was leery because I usually don't like bbq flavored chips, but this bbq flavor was slightly smokey and not overpowering or too salty. It was so tasty that I kept going back for more while I was going through the rest of the box! Rise Buddy is gluten free and trans fat free, made from whole grain brown rice.
Fawen was the sneak peak preview of the May box. And it totally got me excited. Drinkable soup is genius! I received the Sweet Potato and Red Lentil flavor and found it to be quite good. What makes me most happy is that ingredients list. Nothing fake or artificial...all good for you, real food ingredients. Fawen makes their soup with organic and vegan superfoods. The only think that I wish were different is that the carton isn't microwave friendly, so you have to pour the soup out, microwave it, then drink it. It would be more convenient if you could skip all those steps and just heat it up in the carton. But you can drink it at room temperature or cold straight from the carton!
