Nail Hoot/Top Shelf Lacquer Duo; Hoot This Way & Drunk and Disorderly

Evening dolls!  I've tried to stay inside as much as possible this hot weekend.  Every time I went outside I felt like I was going to spontaneously combust.  But on the plus side my tan is off the hook! I just got home from soccer, my family wants to go out to Red Lobster because of the all you can eat crab...it's for a limited time you know.  Ha!  My 11 year old has been telling us about it all day.  So before we do that I figured I'd drop this fabulous new duo of you to oogle over.  I've tried polishes form both brands in the past and am always impressed...this duo really shows off how great both brands are!  The back story to the duo is a joke.  Brandie had a naming contest in her group and Amy suggested Hoot This Way.  Amy submitted that name for every contest Brandie had for a polish name.  Brandie FINALLY gave in and told Amy if she'd let her name a polish Drunk and Disorderly, she'd name a polish Hoot This Way.  And there we have the creation of this beautiful duo!  The duo is already available on the Nail Hoot website and the price is $18 plus shipping.  So let's jump in to the post and then you can mosey on over to shop!

Let's start with Nail Hoot Hoot This Way.  It's a gorgeous rose gold linear holo with strong gold flash.  And she ain't joking!  That gold flash is awesome, you can see that it's very noticeable in all my pictures.  I'm pretty sure I don't have anything quite like this in my stash so I'm happy to have it join my collection  Formula and application were both great.  I built up to full coverage in 3 thin coats.  I finished up with topcoat.

Top Shelf Lacquer's Drunk and Disorderly is a fantastic medium blue crelly with scattered holo, subtle purple shift and color shifting chameleon flakies.  I'm super loving that scattered holo in the blue base!  You'll see that my nail line is ever so slightly visible, totally normal for a crelly.  Formula and application were both great.  I used 3 thin coats and topped it off with a layer of topcoat.

I used the duo together in an easy mani.  Starting with Drunk and Disorderly as my base, I think lightly and sponged Hoot This Way randomly on the tips of my nails.  It added a beautiful, glowy holo look!  I was pretty happy with how it turned out.  Topcoat to finish.
