Alter Ego, The Indie Shop San Antonio Exclusives, It'll Only Hurt For A Moment & History Prefers Legends to Men

Evening all!  We're getting closer to The Indie Shop, San Antonio.  Who's going?  I sure wish I was because how amazing is that theme?!  Tim Burton all the things!  So this post has 2 exclusives that'll be out there in Texas, created by the lovely Cynthia of Alter Ego.  She drew inspiration from the movie, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.  I've only seen bits and pieces of this movie and didn't even realize it was a Burton film!  Anywho, let's see what Cynthia came up with for the event!

The first one is It'll Only Hurt For A Moment Or Two.  It's an ox blood red jelly that is super gorgeous. I truly adore colors like this and let me tell you, this one really wowed me!  It's inspiration was from the movie's closing credits, where a thin stream of blood ran down the screen.  Because this is a jelly I did find it sheer, so I used 4 coats to build it up to full coverage and total depth.  With that mentioned, I felt the formula and application were both great.  I used 4 coats and no topcoat.

This is History Prefers Legends To Men.  This is a TIS exclusive.  The inspiration behind this one is based on Lincoln being awkward using a gun with silver bullets.  He preferred to swing a silver axe. It's a clear base full of silver flakes.  You can wear this one alone or over a base color.  I have it shown alone, wearing 4 coats to get close to full coverage.  Keep in mind I paint with very thin coats, so you'll probably need less  You can also try sponging the flakes on for fuller coverage.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.
