Smitten Polish Smitten With My Super Swatchers

Happy New Years dears!  I hope you celebrated last night with your loved ones, had a glass of champagne and got a midnight kiss.  I was in Epcot, Germany specifically, eating a tasty meal at the Oktoberfest Biergarten and enjoying some German beer.  The firework show was pretty spectacular and it's definitely an experience I won't forget anytime soon.  But I am back on the road now, headed south to Miami.  I am not sure if I'll have any more Nail of the Day pictures to share on Instagram or blog posts for a couple days but I did want to show you this one...a gorgeous gift sent to me by the lovely Noelie from Smitten Polish.  I was able to snag some sunshine pictures to really show off how beautiful it is.  She also sent a handmade ornament, which I love, and some homemade cookies - delicious...gone.  It was such a thoughtful and wonderful gift and I'm so grateful to have received it.  So let's take a look at pictures!

Smitten With My Super Swatchers is a beautiful deep cobalt blue full of holo shimmer and flakies.  It actually took me by surprise because I wasn't expecting the holo, then I got outside and it was like BAM!  Holo shimmer!  Yeah, I am feeling quite in love with Smitten With My Super Swatchers and will have to be careful to ration it for special occasions.  It applied perfectly in 2 coats.  I used 1 layer of topcoat for a glossy finish.

Red Dog Designs Hot Tamale

Good morning!  With Gina's announcement that Red Dog Designs will be re-opening shop on September 1st I thought I'd share one of the gorgeous one of a kinds that she sent my way.  I've had this for a long while, so long I can't even remember when she actually sent it.  I've gazed at it lovingly and finally decided I needed to wear it despite the mini bottle and the feat that it will run out quickly.  I really think she should make this and add it to her shop - it's so amazing!  I'll admit I feel kind of bad sharing ooak's like this since it's not available.  But maybe if we all ask nicely she will do a sexy collection full of holos like this one!

Sooooo Hot Tamale.   Yeah, what can I really say here?  Picture speak a thousand words.  But I'll add a few extra words.  This little beauty is a metallic red holo.  It's like red red.  Like Hot Tamale sting your tongue cinnamon candy red.  And so pretty.  I felt uber sexy when I had it on my nails.  Hot Tamale has quite a bit of purple in the flare which is nice, it adds some extra pizazz.  The formula was fantastic, creamy and opaque.  Hot Tamale could easily be a one coater, but that darn mini brush wouldn't let me get enough polish on it so I used 2 coats.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Lumina Lacquer Birthday Night Out

Good morning (or afternoon depending on where you are) lovely readers!  I am currently working on some more spam posts for your enjoyments, but do have a few single polishes/manis to show off in the meantime.  This beauty is from Lumina Lacquer, a one of a kind gift that was sent to me for my birthday!  I'm a big fan of Luminas and this special polish is absolutely gorgeous and very special to me!  Birthday Night Out is a cobalt blue base that has a slightly metallic look, and is filled with flakies and holographic shimmer swimming about.  It reminds me of a star filled night sky or a glistening deep blue ocean.  The holo is very subtle in the pictures, but so much more prominent in real life, even in indoor lighting!  I used 2 coats of Birthday Night Out for perfect coverage and 2 layers of topcoat.

While this particular Lumina Lacquer isn't available for purchase there are many beautiful polishes that are, including glitters, solid colors and micro glitters!
