KBShimmer; Hard To Empress

Just going through drafts of old posts that I didn't have time to put up and I saw this one.  I felt like I really just wanted to share it so I'm back with another post for ya!  This is KBShimmer Hard To Empress.  This came out back in June when Polish Con was in New York.  It was a show exclusive that ended up on the KBShimmer website for a brief time, but because of the  ingredients used (UP pigment) it was very LE.  I have no idear if it will come back but for the sake of clearing out my drafts I am sharing it with you today.  Sorry for being a tease.

Good morning lovelies!  It's Labor Day Weekend, the official end of Summer.  How are you closing out the season?  With a pool party, a bbq maybe?  We decided to drive to Reno for the Rib Cook Off - what better way to say farewell to the hot season that to go out to the middle of nowhere to eat lots of bbq meat.  But since Summer is closing out, it's also a great time to start building up your Fall polish collection.  The upcoming Girly Bits COTM Duo are both perfect shades to get you started!  Sep-timber and Peace-oop will be available in 2 rounds, the first is from 9/6-9/10 with no limit on the quantity you purchase.  They are $16.50 CAD each, if you buy both during the early bird period in the first launch you can save a few bucks and get the duo for $31 CAD.  The second round will be on 9/24 and quantities are limited.  This round will stay open until the last day of the month or until product sells out.  So shall we delve in and see what Pam has created for us this month?  Yes, then let's do it!

Alanna Renee Horcrux

Hello polish friends.  I have one last Alanna Renee Magical World nail polish to show you and this one is dark and sinister!  If you missed my last couple posts you can see Patronus HERE and Golden Snitch HERE.  Alanna Renee is based in Australia and she opened up shop in January 2013.   The Magical World collection was inspired by Harry Potter and really, who doesn't love Harry Potter?!  Genius to combine the love for HP and nail polish.  This collection does a great job capturing all the polish namesakes.  For all the international buyers (non-Australian residents) Alanna Renee is available through Color4Nails.  You can contact Color4Nails on Facebook, IG (color4nails) or just send Sisi an email with your order inquiry: color4nails21@gmail.com.

Horcrux is a creepy polish.  Not itself but it's inspiration and meaning in the movies.  If you are unfamiliar Alanna explains that a Horcrux is "inspired by the fragment of soul that a dark wizard or witch hides inside a powerful object for the purpose of immortality. A Horcrux gives one the ability to resurrect oneself if the body is destroyed."  When I opened this polish I immediately thought of Harry and Dumbledore in the Horcrux Cave with the black lake - I will tell no more in fear of spoiling the movie fun for anyone who hasn't seen the movies.  Horcrux is a black base with color shifting flakes.  I see grey, green, blue, maybe purple even?  The flakes with the dark base make for a gorgeous effect.  I used 2 coats of Horcrux and the formula was great, easy to apply and no issues to report.  I finished this with 1 layer of topcoat.
