Stella Chroma September Polish Pick Up Exclusives: Follow the Teachings & Glazed Donuts

Evening friends!  I have been leery to say its Fall but it really feels like it is (which is bad for me since I still have 1 Summer collection to post DOH!).  But I'm not here to talk about that today.  I'm here to talk about Polish Pickup!  I think you know already, but the September theme is Horror Movies! YAS!  I've got the Stella Chroma polish to share with you now and it is a major stunner!  Inspired by the British movie To the Devil A Daughter.  I haven't seen this movie but it sounds like a creepier version of Rosemary's Baby so I'm going to have to watch it during October Horror Movie month!  Follow the Teachings will be available from 9/7 - 9/10 for $12 with no cap.  Stella Chroma will also have another amazing Emulsified Sugar Scrub for you scrub addicts out there!  It's called Glazed Donut and you can pick it up during the same sale time for $5.50.  Let's go ahead and see what we've got here!

Polished by KPT Lumieres

Good evening lovelies!  I'm avoiding laundry by putting up another post.  Why?  Because laundry is my absolute least favorite house chore.  I don't mind the washing and drying, what I do mind is the folding and putting away.  It's so damn taxing.  So I'll avoid my own personal H-E-Double Toothpicks by sharing a gorgeously blingy polish with you!  Yes I am distracting myself with shiny things.  Tonight I have Lumieres from Polished by KPT.  This is a total stunner, if you haven't seen it before or tried Polished by KPT I think this is a perfect introduction to the brand!  Lumieres is available in the shop now for $12 USD.  Now let's look at some pictures!

Jin Soon Tess Giberson Collection for Fall/Winter 2014: Pistache & Farrago

Good morning beauties!  I have a fabulous brand to share today and I don't want to waste any time chit chatting so let's just get going shall we?  The polishes I have for your this morning are from the Jin Soon Tess Giberson Collection for Fall/Winter 2014.  This collection was inspired by "the transference of classic rugged American Sportswear into contemporary, effortless, luxurious style."  Tess and Jin worked together to "transform a classic color palette by adding cool, subtle effects like shimmer and speckles to give the hues a completely new dimension."  Well I'd have to say this was definitely achieved!  The 5 polishes in the collection are very classic colors but with just a touch of something special to make them unique and totally stunning.  The Jin Soon Tess Giberson Collection for Fall/Winter 2014 is currently available at select fine retailers and are $18.00 USD each bottle.  I have 2 shades to share with you and I adored both.  So let's take a look!

Before I start I wanted to tell you that the Jin Soon website has several video and picture tutorials to create gorgeous nail art that Jin Soon herself put together!  You will definitely want to check that out so you can recreate these looks with some of the beautiful Jin Soon polish that is available.

Pistache is a beautiful "shimmery apricot" shade.  It's got a very nice helping of pink and gold shimmer that are very visible on the nail in all types of lighting.  I love that it's just bright enough to be noticeable but doesn't venture into neon territory.  It's a great color for the Fall, unique, sweet and fresh.  Pistache will also transition nicely into Winter as a little pop of color against the typical dark clothing and accessories worn in the cold weather.  The formula and application were both superb.  I used 3 thin coats of Pistache for full coverage and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Farrago turned out to be my favorite of the 2 (which surprised me since I was positive it would be Pistache).  I guess I'm just one of those gals that loves a good deep, dark, vampy color for my nails in the Fall and Winter months.  Farrago is a "red purple with a hint of gold."  More like a heavy handed does of gorgeous gold shimmer!  This is definitely a polish that's going to get alot of love from me through the end of the year.  Farrago, like Pistache, had an amazing formula.  It was thisclose to being a one coater for me...but as I have said in the past I am light handed with the paint so it's highly likely it is a one coater for someone else.  I used 2 thin coats of Farrago and 1 layer of topcoat.

Rainbow Honey Pink Cloud

Hi there polish friends!  I have a fun, girly polish to share today.  I hope you like pink!  This is Pink Cloud and it's from the Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X collection.  This collection is inspired by maker Dee's love of the SNES game Earthbound.  I've reviewed a few polishes from this collection and you can see them HERE, HERE and HERE.  You can follow Rainbow Honey on Facebook, IG (rainbowhoney), and can purchase polish from the SHOP and fab.com.

Pink Cloud is a bubblegum pink bordering on neon territory.  I see hot pink shimmer and pink-magenta glitters as well as holo silver and sheer white matte glitters.  The color combination is pretty awesome!  I used 2 coats of Pink Cloud and found the formula to be on the thick side.  If you bought (or are going to buy this) I would suggest you use a couple drops of thinner if you find yours to be thick.  That should fix it right up to a lovely consistency that will be easy to apply.  I used 1 layer of topcoat but would suggest 2 as this was a little topcoat hungry.

Super Black Lacquers Purdy

Good morning polish friends!  Today is the 2nd day of Super Black Lacquers!  How did you like The Whale yesterday?  If you missed it you can find the post HERE.  Natalie, the creator behind Super Black Lacquers makes some amazing polish and T]today's post features a gorgeous purple with hot pink shimmer so hold on to your hats!  You can purchase Super Black Lacquers at www.superblacklacquers.com and can follow SBL on Facebook for updates!

Purdy is described by Natalie as "a light purple creme polish with pinkish-red pearlescent flash."  It dries to a slightly matte (or is it wax) finish.  It's a really pretty finish if you don't want something super shiny.  I bet it would also be a great contrasting finish for nail art!  Purdy was  smidgen thinner than The Whale, but still had the same great formula that was a breeze to apply.  Creamy and wonderful.  No application problems what-so-ever.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

Because Natalie recommends using topcoat to bring out the fuchsia shimmer I did just that!  Enjoy the glossy, shimmery goodness!
