Good morning y'all! I've been super lazy these last few days. I guess recovering from big birthday bash parties is harder as you get older. I swear I am still cleaning up after it and it's wiped me out. I am feeling more energetic today so I have to take care of errands and such. I also need to get several posts put up to share with you! So let's start with this one! I have the new Mentality Nail Polish Featured Palette, a 4-piece set called It's A Baby! on my blog today. These are described as "jelly creme gloss," I suppose it's an ultra glossy crelly? It's A Baby! is currently available on the Mentality site for $20. Well let's jump in and check out the It's A Baby! Palette shall we?

Up first is Delivery. Delivery is a "deep blue toned jelly creme." It's a lovely color and there is some great shimmer in there. I was able to reach full opacity in 2 coats of Delivery. The formula and application were ok. The only thing I'd point out (and this rings try for all 4 colors) is that I found the formula to be a bit streaky. I finished with 1 coats of Mentality Fast-Dry Topcoat.

Next is Bearing, a "deep green toned jelly creme." This was a very pretty shade, it reminded me of a gorgeous sea-foam green color. Bearing was full of a beautiful shimmer - I saw quite a few colors in there including purple and gold! Formula and application of Bearing were ok, again the heavy shimmer created a streaky finish. I also saw some pigment clumps that didn't shake up or dissolve so you can see a few of those on my nails. I finished with 1 coat of Mentality Fast-Dry Topcoat.

Moving right along, there's a second blue in this collection. Hopscotch is a "bright blue tinted jelly creme." This was probably my favorite in the collection, very pretty color with a nice formula. Hopscotch covered well and it was less streaky than the other. I will note here that I had slight staining around my cuticles with Hopscotch so either prep your nails with Vaseline or lotion and definitely wear topcoat. I have on 2 coats of Hopscotch and 1 layer of Mentality Fast-Dry Topcoat. *my pictures show a brighter/neon blue shade than is true to the actual polish*

Yay a pink! This is Peek-a-Boo and it's a "pink tinted jelly creme." I loved this color - it's like a borderline neon rose with lots of pink shimmer. This was the most sheer of the collection but it did build up nicely. I found the formula and application much like the previous ones, nice but the amount of shimmer almost makes it frosty, thus causing visible brush strokes. There was the issue with pigment clumps in Peek-a-Boo here too. I used 3 coats of Peek-a-Boo and 1 layer of Mentality Fast-Dry Topcoat.

Fast-Dry Topcoat is a just what is says...a quick drying, glossy topcoat. The formula was a perfect middle of the road viscosity, not too thick or thin. It applied nicely and let me with very a dry glossy finish. The best part? Fast-Dry Topcoat is ONLY $4.00 a bottle!! How can you beat that price?
My overall feelings on the It's A Baby! Palette were mediocre. The colors don't make sense to me as a baby palette. I wish there were a light purple or yellow instead of 2 blues. The heavy shimmer made them all streaky, 1 caused some staining and I did have issues with the pigment not completely dissolving in 2 of them. However I did like the Fast-Dry topcoat! It was a great formula and has a seriously awesome price point!
