Blue Christmas Mani

Good afternoon!  We are getting down to the wire here to share Christmas/Holiday themed manis so I figured I may as well just get them all posted!  I did a Blue Christmas mani and I was extremely happy with how it turned out.  Let's go ahead and look at the pictures!

I started with Lumina Lacquer Homesick at Space Camp on my thumb, middle and accent nails.  I used 2 coats but easily could have used 1.  I wanted the richest blue hue I could get and this was the perfect choice!  Plus it's holo!   I topped my middle nail with 2 coats of Lynnderella Ice the Snowcake, a lovely white glitter topper that also has a nice serving of holo and iridescent shimmers.

On my index and pinky nails I used The Nail Junkie Snowflake.  This shimmery white polish is absolutely perfection!  It's soft and delicate and really looks like snow glinting in the light.  I used 3 coats and as you can see there is still a very slight visible nail line, but it really looks clean and classy so it didn't bother me one tiny bit.  It gives a "my nails but better" look.  I then got adventurous and hand drew snowflakes over Snowflake using Homesick at Space Camp.  I finished everything up with a thick layer of topcoat. LOVE!

Summer of Untrieds Day 5: Lynnderella

Hi there lovelies!  We are moving right along in this summer challenge and I'm enjoying it immensely.  It's so fun to try out polish that had been sitting and collecting dust, forgotten about or just neglected.  Today's theme, Lynnderella, was a hard one because I have so many that need to be used.  Well I finally picked one and I'm in love with it!  But before we loo at pictures a little info!  If you want to join in the Summer of Untrieds it's easy!  Just post your picture to Facebook or Instagram and use #summerofuntrieds.

This is Lynnderella Little Stars and Bars.  It's an LE that I picked up in a swap a while back and it's so pretty!  I am a fan of bar glitter and this tiny holo bar glitter is super adorable.  Then there are teeny tiny silver stars added in and squeee!  I love them!  You can wear Little Stars and Bars alone or over a base color.  I used 3 coats alone and there were a few spots that didn't want to cover but all in all I'd say the formula and application were good.  I used 1 layer of topcoat.

Lynnderella: Deep Blue Seeing, Ghost of a Chance, 7 Minutes In Heaven & Candy Blossom

'Ello readers!  Hope all is well with you on fine Sunday afternoon!  I got home from soccer, had lunch and am showered up ready for grocery shopping and errands.  But for now grab your brunch coffee and snack and let's talk Lynnderella.  Lynnderella was one of the first indie brands that I truly ooohed and aaahed over as a newbie to the polish world.  Since then I have acquired quite the collection (I mean, nothing in comparison to some gals but good enough for me).  Sadly it seems that I just buy and don't trying them.  So today I have 4 that haven't received any love yet.  Well of course I am glad I tried them because they are all lovely!  Let's look, mmmkay?  *My memory eludes me at the moment and I can't remember which polishes I used as bases for any of these, sorry!*

Lynnderella: Shop, Blog, Facebook, Instagram

Deep Blue Seeing is a beautiful royal blue mix of glitters in hexs, squares and micro glitters in a clear base.  This is a great color for any time of the year but I especially love it for Summer time!  Looks like bright blue skies and sparkling blue water.  I used 2 layers of Deep Blue Seeing over a same tone base color.  I felt plenty of glitters came out and spread easily on my nails.  I used 1 layer of topcoat for smooth nails.

Ghost Of A Chance is a very subtle and demure glitter blend.  It's full of satin white glitters, a sparing amount of softly pastel glitters and a sprinkling of holo sparkle in a very slightly milky white base.  The mixture of colors and glitter shapes (diamonds, hearts, hexs, squares) will work nicely with a bevy of base colors.  I chose to put it over a minty green.  I used 2 coats of Ghost Of A Chance and 1 layer of topcoat.

7 Minutes In Heaven is part of the twinset that was released for Valentine's Day 2013.  I love this mixture of neon blue, cobalt blue and hot pink glitters!  There is also a pretty strong blue shimmer in here to for some added wow factor.  I started with a matching blue base (I think I used the Facebook blue polish here) and topped it with 2 coats of 7 Minutes In Heaven.  Glitter was plentiful and spread easily on my nails.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

And here is Candy Blossom.  This came out in the Spring last year and is such a lovely glitter mix!  I don't know why I waited so long to get it (or wear it).  It's the prefect blend of white, pastel pink, hot pink, yellow and neon green to make you feel Springy and pretty!  I wasn't a fan of the base I chose here, I think it was too sheer ( I think it was Sinful Colors Glass Slipper).  But I did love Candy Blossom.  The glitter came out easily and spread nicely on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Candy Blossom and 1 layer of topcoat.

My Birthday Nails!

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to meeeeeeeeeeee!  Yeah, I always make a big deal out of my own birthday.  Hey, it's the best holiday there is!  I have been out and about most of the day, doing regal routine things but also some fun things!  I also got some amazing nail mail from some of my amazing friends!  Watch my Instagram page if you want to see those pictures!  For now let's just take a quick look at the mani I created for my birthday!  I am very pleased with the outcome!

Alright alright...I started this birthday mani with Enchanted Polish April 2014.  It's a beautiful, soft linear holo that sits somewhere between cornflower and periwinkle.  April 2014 applied like a dream, so creamy and opaque.  If you are heavy handed you could get away with 1 coat.  I used 2 coats since I used lighter coats when I paint.  I then used April 2014 and April 2013 to create a gradient on my accent nails.  I put both colors on the sponge and applied about 3 coats.  April 2013 is also on my pinky nail and the color is a beautiful medium toned grape purple with a strong holo effect.  It seems to be a tightly scattered holo.  April 2013 was a thinner formula and I used 2 coats to get it opaque, but there were no formula or application issues to report.  I topped the accent nails with 1 coat of Lynnderella Blue Rogue, "assorted periwinkle and lilac glitters with pink shimmer."  On top of that I added Lynnderella Forget You Not, a blend of satin periwinkle hexs in different sizes with pink and blue shimmer.  The combination of the glitters really brought some wow factor that I didn't expect.  All the colors played well together and I am totally happy with the way it turned out.  I finished all nail with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lynnderella Diamond Light, Cult Nails Be Loco & Enchanted Polish Dime Piece

Good morning there lovelies!  With all this sunshine I promptly started wearing brighter colors on my nails.  I just can't resist them...they suck me in!  The mani I have to share today is made up of 3 beautiful polishes from 3 popular indie brands.  I like how they worked together and created a simple but noticeable mani.

Lynnderella: Shop, Blog, Facebook, Instagram

I started this mani with Enchanted Polish Dime Piece.  One of the most holo-y silver linear holos I have ever tried.  It's totally space age and awesome.  Application and formula were both awesome.  I used 2 coats of Dime Piece.  I used Cult Nails Be Loco on my middle and ring fingers and the "intensely pigmented bright peach toned creme" is really amazing.  I actually found the finish to be more crelly like.  Such a perfect color for the Spring and Summer seasons.  Formula an application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Be Loco.  Finally I topped Be Loco with Lynnderella Diamond Light, a holographic glitter polish full of "silver and pink dots and diamonds dusted with assorted micro glitters."  The mix of silver and pink glitters in Diamond Light is really lovely.  I found the base a touch thin for the glitters and wish I would have gotten more out.  But all in all it turned out nice.  I used 2 coats of Diamond Light.  I finished this mani with 1 layer of topcoat on all nails.

Red Hot Valentine's Day Mani!

Happy Valentine's Day!  This is going to be a fast and furious post because I have alot of stuff to take care of before I pick my boys up from school.  I'm dropping my kids all off with my parents so the hubs and I can get out for a date night!  YAY!  So let's look at my red hot sexy nails!  *apologies in advance, for some reason I paint like a toddler when I use red polish*

Lynnderella: Blog, Shop, Facebook, Instagram
Sinful Colors: Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

I started this lovely mani with 2 coats of OPI Red Hot Rio on my thumb, index and middle finger nails.  WOW this red is awesome.  It shiny and squishy and has full coverage.  I'd say it's a crelly finish.  I topped it with Lynnderella Nail Bed of Roses.  This is a SE and I am super happy I snagged one!  Look at that gorgeous holo glitter sparkle!  I used 2 coats of Nail Bed of Roses but 1 would have been fine.  I then used Sinful Colors Black on Black - the perfect  black creme!  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  I created a little Lynnder-layering and put 1 coat of Night Shade (a silver holo and black satin glitter combination) and 1 coat of UnDead Red (a silver holo, red metallic and satin red glitter combination).  Hullo I love how this turned out!  I finished up with 2 layers of topcoat.
