Le Chat; Dare to Wear English Rose Collection, Spring 2018

Afternoon!  I'm rushing around, so typical.  Need to drive over the hill to Aptos to get a race bib for tomorrow.  I swear, my life is ruled by races and soccer.  LOL, I wouldn't change it, I love it!  It's going to be a rainy day race, that's for sure.  All this rain definitely has me in the mood for Spring shades and the new Le Chat English Rose collection totally fills that need.  This collection is 6 creamy pastels that will make fabulous Easter Egg nails and will be nice transition shades into the Summer.  They're also all kinds of perfect if you are tired of bold and dark colors.  You can pick up the lovely English Rose collection over at the Le Chat website now for $6.95 each. Let's jump in and check them out!

Paint Box Polish: Ciao, Gelato! Collection, Spring 2016

Good afternoon dears!  Sorry I've been behind on posting and my giveaway.  I've been swamped with swatching, editing, watermarking and the like.  So I'm in the process of trying to catch up on all those things at the moment.  I'm super excited for the collection I have to show you today.  Paint Box Polish was inspired by my favorite desert - ice cream!  Well gelato to be more specific.  I happened to send a picture of mountains of gelato to Pam while I was in Italy over Christmas and BING, inspiration hit!  This collection contains 8 new shades, 7 of which are a creamy/crelly formula and 1 with black flakies.  There's also a new cuticle oil, Amaretto Tiramisu (mmmmmm note to self - do not lick your cuticles).  You can pick up your favorites or the entire Ciao, Gelato! collection starting 3/19 at noon EST.  Don't forget to use the code MNPO for 15% off your entire order!  Now let's eat gelato...I mean look at swatches!

KBShimmer Mega Flame Collection, Spring 2016

Good morning, happy Sunday!  Are you getting rained out like I am over here in Cali?  So many are moaning and groaning about the rain, but it's so desperately needed.  Plus it's giving me a break from my usual taxi mom duties and breaks from soccer and running.  I think it's more of a mental break than a physical break that I've needed so just getting to not worry over where I need to be is nice.  Plus I didn't go out and race in the rain today, ate a huge chocolate chip waffle for breakfast and I don't even feel guilty! The only thing I can complain about is that all these clouds have been keeping the sun away so I couldn't do sunshine pictures of these gorgeous glittery holos from KBShimmer.  The Mega Flame collection is a set of holos full of micro holo glitters in a tinted base that really wow with their sparkle and shine.  There are 7 shades in the Mega Flame collection and they will be available on 3/15 for $8.75 USD each.  So let's delve in and check out these beauties!

Serum No 5 SS15 (partial collection review)

Good evening all!  I am so tired and my knees hurt.  Sometimes I feel old.  I know I'm not but really, why do the outsides of my knees hurt after I run a long distance?  Sigh.  Ok, enough of my shining.  Since it's night time I thought it would be fun to share some glow in the dark polish with you.  And who makes the best glow in the dark polish?  Serum No 5 of course!  What I have to share with you now are 2 polishes from the Spring/Summer 2015 collection.  I think it is so cool that Victoria has so many different glow shades!  I definitely don't wear enough glowing the dark polish, and it's just so darn fun.  Victoria has tons of glow in the dark polishes in her shop right now and they are $13 each.  Head over and I bet you'll find one you want!

Coral-ectric is a beautiful coral full of gold shimmer.  This is a color combo that is so perfect, it always looks fabulous!  Coral-ectric had a great formula and applied easily and smoothly. I used 3 coats for full coverage.  I did notice a bit of a "textured" feel to Coral-ectric (typical for glow in the dark pigment) so I slapped on a layer of topcoat.

Victoria suggests using a white or light base for maximum glow effect but look how bright Coral-ectric is all on it's own!

Guiding Light is a nice bright white polish full of soft silvery and iridescent shimmer.  Guiding Light was a bit more sheer and I ended up using 4 coats to completely cover my nails.  But you know what?  The white glow is so stunning I don't even mind having to paint 4 coats!  Guiding Light dried with a slightly gritty feel so I used a layer of topcoat to smooth it out.

A Shimmer of Hummingbirds is a "muted warm green linear" holo.  The soft shade is beautiful, perfect for Spring.  The formula and application were both great.  I used 3 easy coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

I've compared A Shimmer of Hummingbirds on my index and ring fingers to Whiskey in the Jar on my middle and Audrey's Rainbow on my pinky.  You can see that A Shimmer of Hummingbirds is more green with no blue tones.

An Opera of Canaries is a "muted golden-yellow linear " holo.  I'd say that in direct sun it's more true yellow than golden yellow, or it could possibly be my skin tone.  Whichever way it leans on you it is a gorgeous and wearable yellow.  I used 3 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

I've compared An Opera of Canaries to Sunny Side Up.  Sunny Side Up is on my accent nail and you can clearly see the differences here, Sunny Side Up is a much more vibrant color but An Opera of Canaries has a stronger holo.

A Gross of Grosbeaks is a "muted rose-copper linear" holo.  Of course I think this is my favorite from the collection.  I just can't resist a lovely rosey pink and this one is really perfect!  A Gross of Grosbeaks was a bit more opaque than the last 2 and I only needed 2 coats for complete coverage.  No topcoat.

Here I've got a comparison of A Gross of Grosbeaks and Udora's Harvest.  Udora's Harvest is on my accent nail and you can see it's a cooler shade of pink with a more metallic finish.

A Richness of Martins is a "muted medium purple linear" holo.  I loved that this is a vibrant pastel - if it can be both.  The holo effect was really strong here.  The formula and application were both lovely.  I used 3 coats and no topcoat.  I didn't have any solid purple Smitten holos to compare this to.

A Parliament of Owls is a "muted coppery-orange linear" holo.  This is another of my favorites.  Well it's hard to really say favorite because they are all so gorgeous, but in terms of color preference yes, I have favorites.  I totally dig that this is such a soft orange it is almost a nude.  But it definitely has color to it!  the formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 3 easy coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

This comparison is of A Parliament of Owls and The Accidental Nudist.  The Accidental Nudist is on my accent nail and is much more pink leaning nude.

Lastly we have A Bouquet of Warblers.  This is a "muted blue linear" holo.  I'd actually classify it as a cornflower blue.  So pretty! Another fabulous formula and application here.  It applied like a dream in 2 coats and no topcoat.

My last comparison is of A Bouquet of Warblers to Ker-Bloom (middle finger) and Himalayan Blue Poppy (pinky).  All very different shades of blue and different grades of holo.
